First thing first, Louis wanted to eat Subarus memories but Rem memories were in the way of that because of love to subaru so she threw it away to eat him, those memories manifested as Rem that hyped up Subaru and Louis didnt saw her because she rejected her before, Second Louis scratches her arm and thats actually something she got after eating Subarus memories she got his habit of self harm that he has because of death in sleep in s1, Third in season 2 when witch of lust changes into Rem and says to Subaru to give up and leave everything to her Subaru says that Rem wouldn't say that instead she would tell him to stand up that was foreshadowing to this moment

Since we’re already here, I actually want to say something but idk if anybody mentioned before “Natsuki Subaru was here”, if you remembers, he actually wrote it on season 1, where he trying to learn the isekai words and asked Ram to teach him. Thats a huge foreshadow planted ten years ago(for the web novel version, it’s six years) And anyways, just a heads-up, after we finish watching this season, many people will probably answer a lot about of this season, probably some wrong plots and misunderstandings if you have one till now (maybe your plot was right, or not? I’ll keep my mouth shut, and you can just cook till the end.) I think there will probably a huge discussion after this season ends, if you don't mind, would you like us to share them at the end?( if you got any misunderstanding info tho) (OFC no further spoils about unreleased content)

2026-09-20 14:00 i watched ep12 and 13 yesterday in preparation for your reaction today. ep12 was really good. i think meili's psychology has been made very clear now so i won't bother with analyzing this episode, especially when we have the elephant in the room after i watched ep13 yesterday, i watched it again. i then watched it again just now with your reaction. i didn't think for even a second that we'd already get an episode surpassing ep11, but oh my fucking god, this was absolutely INCREDIBLE. subaru's talk with julius, getting more information about od lagna, confirmation that rui ate his memories, and the entire rem segment... i haven't seen you cry this hard since your lie in april and takopi. same goes for me LMAO i'm just gon talk about this whole od lagna segment idc bro. firstly, the reason why rui knows about subaru's past is because she ate the memories of him taking the first trial at the sanctuary in arc 4. she would have no way of knowing otherwise, since subaru's pre-isekai memories are completely intact. also, remember last time when i pointed out the implication from beako's dialogue that subaru self harms to deal with his trauma? i'm 99.999% sure that the scene here of rui scratching her arm is her recalling that from the memories of his behavior, which is so fucked bro (after reading djejek's message that looks to be the case) rui talking about the function of the hall of memories is really interesting. she said this is the "final resting place of souls" and then went on to describe the process of souls being cleansed of their memories... i'm assuming this is what happens to everyone when they die. but then, why the fuck is an archbishop like her camping in such a place?? wait i just had an amazing idea. what if she camps here to eat the memories of people before the hall of memories can naturally dispose of them? rather than fighting like her brothers, she just sits there so she can eat without a fuss. that'd lowkey be genius of her ...how on earth is lye in the fucking tower. how. just how. roy gotta be here too but i cannot see how the brothers would be able to make it here unless they were camping in reid's book too. and speaking of, WHY DOES REID HAVE SUCH A TROLL BOOK? i guess it suits the fucker but damn. idk if the book was actually trapped, or if rui interfered with the connection herself and sent him to od lagna, given she seems to be within him. either way it's so bullshit. also, about satella not interfering, rui actually said in the episode that "what happens here doesn't leak outside, so it's fine!", so this is a similar situation to echidna's castle of dreams. although, in that instance, the consequence compounded and satella's black mist of doom fucking consumed the sanctuary once he left that time so uh... i'm terrified i don't know if rui is lying about newbaru's memories being overwritten if the old ones return, but i think we should take an archbishop's words with a pinch of salt. especially when she pulled out the most selfish parts of subaru wanting to be a hero in order to manipulate him. he is SO much more than that, and i know he'll get his memories back because he's the goat. the good thing about this guy is that he doesn’t give up. cia torture tactics could not break this man 😭 that entire scene with rem. one of the most memorable and incredible scenes in the show imo. djejek already mentioned in the comments about the scene where carmilla larped as rem in arc 4. how subaru said that rem wouldn't just coddle him. she would tell him to stand up. masterful fucking foreshadowing, i'm sorry for glazing but tappei is a crazy author. emilia JUST got her rem moment, and rem just went “nah bitch this is MY man”. 😭 djejek also already talked about the cyan sphere being rem's memories that were preventing rui from eating subaru, and that's why rem manifested in the corridor. genuinely i see why season 4 was so hyped up, this is way too good man. (edit: before editing their comment, they talked alluded to what the purple light subaru grabbed was, since it’s now gone i’ve removed my own thoughts on it jic) lastly, you were saying that you were confused at what rui's objective was when it came to knowing what it's like to die. my guess is this. rui said earlier that all she wanted was to "be happy". for her to want to know what it's like to die, in order to be happy, she must be SUGOOOOOOOKU bored, like damn girl. archbishops are crazy but lmao. anyway, i think that because she's bored, she wants to know what it's like to ACTUALLY die. just because she absorbed his memories of dying, doesn't mean she's actually experienced it. it's like how you can imagine what losing a family member feels like but actually experiencing it is completely crushing and horrible. that, to me, is why she said that the memories were old and didn't feel real enough the main thing i'm confused about besides how all of gluttony is in the tower, is wtf is up with the double ruis at the end? given this was a flashback to before subaru woke up as newbaru, one of the ruis has clearly fucked off somewhere to cause havoc, unless she merged back together off screen after scaring him like that. i'm just gonna let the story cook with this one, i have no clue holy yap that took me ages to write, but i couldn't not write about this episode. this might even surpass s1 ep18 and take #2 for all time re zero episodes, though i'll let the recency bias pass before deciding that. this was one of my favorite reactions oat. thank you dark roaring knight LMAO

I forgot a lot of what I was gonna say but anyways first off the significance of ep 11 was subaru finding the belief the others had in the subaru before and using it to bring himself up and try to do what that subaru could. The title is Re: Started life in Another World from zero and s1 ep 3 was called Started life in another world from zero and in that episode subaru asks emilia her name and she says I am emilia just emilia this time it parallels with emilia asking subaru to tell her his name and basically find confidence in the person he is its peak. In ep 10 by reading meilis book of the dead they essential merged into one and subaru and meili felt like the same person to him that's how deep it affected him and what you said last reaction no meili is meili and she imitates people all her life she was just devastated abt elsa. Reid was able to leave his trial somehow meaning a rule is broken which is essential to shaula somehow won't say. Rui knows return by death meaning that's why satella kept appearing because rui knew about it and lye should know too since the gluttonys share their memories or something I believe. Rem appeared in the hall of memories because her love for subaru was so strong when rui tried to eat subaru she threw rems memories away that was the blue orb and basically the manifestation of subarus memories of rem appeared because of it. Rui splitting herself into two is essential to understanding everything she did and her plan which she said something about wanting to experience his power for himself which ill explain more when it's necessary. I won't say much but like we talked about with the Witch factors how he was able to open the three doors well technically four but yeah but that scene with the constellation was him awakening a new authority it is the constellation of that I'm sure you can infer what it is and from who and your right. I did acknowledge people saying not to say it outright though you already know what witch factors hes holding based on the doors he got through . The fact gluttony was the fourth also means rui must of been inside of him somehow which could explain the blackouts but like I said ill keep the full story away for until it's necessary it's just a plausible theory . Now I will explain this the reason subaru lost his memories is because reids book of the dead is being used for his soul to be brought to life in the trial that's how a 400 year ago man who was long dead was able to be here it makes sense. Meaning his book if the dead is empty so it brought him to the place where memories are stored the hall of memories the core of od lagna and od lagna is like the mechanism of the world it's what gives Reinhard all his Divine Protections he's literally loved by the world basically. Subaru went there the first time to find reids weakness and instead got cooked by gluttony. Why was rui there? I will explain in a later reaction properly since there is some important cut content later. Rui believes by having return by death she can pick the perfect life for her through trial and error as she just wants to be happy she claims. And that's all the relevant stuff I can think about for now. There is more elsa and meili stuff in the season 2 breaktimes so watch them ASAP.

I disagree. he already knows he has three witch factors (four in the web novel) from the doors in the cave he already theorized he has greed and gluttony might be becuz of rui being inside of him or something like that pretty sure he will piece together its the greed authority. its not really a spoiler its something that SHOULD of been said outright at this point too so its more of the animes fault then a spoiler as the anime cut out not only the ability but most ppl dont even realize he got a new authority

Cinema🔥 It seems other people have already explained a lot of this episode, so I won’t go as into depth as I did for ep 11 like last time lol But I will say that, just like I said last time, there are only two people in the world who can pick up Subaru at his lowest, and we saw rem do it this time instead of Emilia. Idk if anyone has mentioned it but the scene at 1:05:07, where Subaru grasps something, does have some significance. Also, as for why satella isn’t killing rui, she herself at 55:44 said that “what happens here doesn’t leak outside” so I think it’s similar to echidna’s realm where he can talk about return by death freely. This means that her knowing it doesn’t matter either. Theres actually some cut content about Od Lagna that gives some context to that place and why it’s so important and able to not really be affected by satella. For gluttony wanting a “rawer, newer” sensation of death, it actually fits the definition of gluttony very well. They eat all they want, but they will never be satisfied. They will always want more. That is literally what gluttony is For some analysis of Subarus character, one of the things he was missing in his character development is his want to save EVERYTHING. He doubted his ability to do so, and considered killing the old Natsuki Subaru because he wanted to stay in the world instead of the old version of himself. He didn’t think about saving old Subaru too. That’s where rem helps change this mindset, as it is similar to some of the development she gave him in season 1. As you can see, this season really does feel like a culmination of every previous season, and you’re seeing the payoffs of that now. This episode is easily my 2nd favorite of the season (well, maybe not after the ep that released today…) and probably even top 5 in the show. It doesn’t matter how much I love Emilia and her dynamic with Subaru, rem and her dynamic with Subaru is also absolutely amazing. Peak episode. This ep probably cemented season 4 as my favorite season. But, of course, there’s more peak to come

Do you remember the scene with the Witch of Lust, Carmilla in season 2? Subaru was completely mind broken (I think it was after the rabbit death) and Carmilla appeared to comfort him but made herself look like Rem. She told him that he can simply rest in her arms and that he should basically forget about his troubles and let her comfort him. So esentially she was telling him to cave in. At first Subaru believed her that she's Rem but quickly realised that she's somebody else when she wanted him to simply give up. He asked her who she is and said that while Rem would probably comfort him as well she would never go easy on him. She would never want him to choose the easy way out and to stop struggling. Subaru is her hero and she knows what he's capable of. So even if he doesn't believe in himself she will believe in him instead while cheering him on to continue fighting. She would want him to "stand up" because Subaru is her cherished hero. And this is exactly what happened in this episode. It's insane how great the writing for this show is. When I watched this episode a few weeks ago the Rem scene made me cry for 5mins straight.

But jokes aside, you asked how Rui knows about his parents... Just remember the Echidna's trial in S2 about facing the past :) Also, I love that you're saying that this season is amazing, but imagine that if you rewatched the first episodes right now, you would notice sooo many hints to what is happening. And the whole season is like that - just by combining the knowledge from previous seasons and just paying a lot of attention to details, you could figure out the plot like 1 - 2 episodes ahead. As an example, remember the aura monster episode end when Subaru gets killed on the balcony. You paid attention to the fact that this was Rem, but you did not pay too much attention to what she said: "NEXT TIME... Take a guess, hero". "Next time", huh? So something or SOMEBODY made Subaru lose his memories. Someone possesses the body of Rem and knows about Subaru's RBD. Who has the ability to not only wipe someone's memories but also read them themselves? :) And in the beginning of that episode, there are a couple of things to note as well - when he falls under the sand into the caverns again, they are full of mabeasts corpses... It's just like somebody fell there while clearing the path to the tower... And then, when Shaula became crazy, they were on the top floor, and when Subaru gets back up with murderous intent, the first person he meets is Shaula. That means that everyone was either dead or missing BEFORE they got down, and Shaula actually went the furthest, almost reaching the doors, but then who killed Shaula? It's almost like Subaru was just lucky enough to miss that certain somebody getting into the tower, and that somebody just killed Shaula while she was going for Subaru. Certainly, that might be wrong or coincidences, as I am anime-only, but they happen consistently throughout the season; I just brought some of them. It was sooo much fun watching it in ongoing and then looking at every small bits and pieces to figure things out, and that was actually working! Best season! I cannot think what will happen when it ends... I will have to wait another year or two for S5.

Common ano W About memories, yeah I completely ignored the fact that the trial's memories were also eaten, that explains it, and the SH stuff is a really fucked up detail... For the blue sphere, yeah it makes sense that it was rem's memories, just one thing that I'm not really sure about: if Lye ate Rem's memories and Rui just discarded it, I'll just assume that they all get all the memories cuz it is the same authority, no matter who eats it. In that case, how tf do they even get their memories back, I thought killing Lye would bring Rem back, now I think they might have to triple kill ts 😭😭
