If you remember the second time the colossal titan appeared, i think in episode 4, a guy was sent flying off the wall and Sasha saved him by piercing his leg with her ODM gear. That was Samuel. So messed up that Sasha saved him and then Conny killed him...

There’s something very important in the last scene with armin. Armin’s greatest strength in all situations is his intelligence. It’s his ability to make plans and talk to others, even the enemy. We see this earlier in the episode when he gave that convincing plan to floch about needing the flying boat to get the escaping cart titan. However the very ironic thing about the last scene with Daz and Samuel was that they had shot armin in the throat/mouth. Armin had lost his greatest strength: the ability to talk things out peacefully. So all he could do was sit there and watch in silence as they killed each other. You can even hear him try to talk in this scene, but all he can do is make noises. The result could’ve very well been different if he could’ve talked with them, especially since they were friends. But, instead, Connie can’t talk it through like armin can, so it wound up with them dying. Another tragic moment for armin and another example of the amazing writing woven into every scene of the show. Everything, truly, is meaningful in this story. The next 4 episodes are all so good, especially the finale 2 eps. I love the conclusion so much, probably my favorite anime ending. Just for reference, i’m not one to cry to any shows easily; however, the only time I cried when I was watching this entire series was during this upcoming conclusion. I can’t believe it’s almost over now, been a hell of a journey these past months💔
