I have only seen one season of this show but it's really beautiful even tho it's kinda slow paced but that's what they were aiming for. A cool thing is that almost every name in this anime is a German word that describes their character. For example one dude is named "denken" which means "thinking" and he's smart Edit: Also frieren mans freezing i think because of her cold demeanor? And himmel means sky, Eisen means iron

Yo. I’m so glad I recommend this show to watch, it means a lot to me. Like I’ve said before, this show was the one that got me back into watching anime. I love the meaningful themes presented in this series about life and death. It isn’t about what the result of the journey is, it’s what happened during it and what happens after. The main theme explored in these episodes is how a long-living person can be affected by those around them and how that long life in itself can impact their behavior towards others. Frieren never understood or tried to understand other people and how they could have an effect on her. She was only forced to realize this when himmel died. She didn’t realize that she actually did want to know him until it was too late. This is a result of her long lifespan, as she had trouble forming deep connections and bonds with others because their lives go by so quickly to her, and she would just travel for decades by herself. She can take things for granted that humans simply can’t because we don’t have the time to do so. So after realizing this, she finally wants to set out to really get to know humans and try to not take the relationships she built for granted any longer, since she knows how easily it can be ripped away. And we can already see her start to appreciate her time with himmel more when she was so adamant on planting the blue moon flowers. It goes to show that she actually did remember something about that “mere” 10 year journey. I forgot how sad these first two episodes can be lol. This show has a lot of beautiful and meaningful moments that aren’t all sad though, I promise (and some hype moments👀) The production value is so high for this series. The ost and background art are especially gorgeous (and the op is a banger). Also the magic system, if you give it time, is really good and well thought out. Anyways, peak, it only gets better from here imo. And Himmel is the goat🔥

46:48 "Himmel would've done the same" actually there's one guy from Taiwan that saved people from a building that was caught on fire. when he got interviewed why he did that, he said the same thing as Heiter here.

My favourite anime i have ever seen. Somehow it makes me so emotional all the time.
