The Future of TrueClash: Season 2 and New Horizons (Patreon)

Hi everyone,
As we approach the grand finale of Season 1, I want to take a moment to thank you. This journey has been incredible, and it’s only possible because of your support.
We are about to enter a new era: Season 2 (The Beach Saga). I have big plans for this next chapter—new characters, deeper challenges, and a much larger scope. To make TrueClash the game it deserves to be (and to keep the project sustainable), I’ve decided to evolve our business model. (damm I hate that word).
The Philosophy: Season 1
I want as many people as possible to experience this world. That’s why we want to try to make Season 1 (all 15+ hours of it) free forever. It stands as a complete game on its own. If someone wants to see if TrueClash is for them, they can play the entire first season without spending a dime.
Season 2: How it will work
For those who want to continue the journey into Season 2 and beyond, we are moving to a model that balances one-time purchases with our dedicated Patreon support:
Steam & Itch.io: Season 2 will be available as a one-time purchase (target price €12-15). This will grant you access to all Season 2 chapters as they are released (roughly every 6 months). This is for those who prefer to own the game without a subscription.
Patreon (The Inner Circle): Our Patreons will continue to be the backbone of this game. As a thank you, you will always have the earliest access to new content:
Tier 3: Immediate access to the latest Dev Patches.
Tier 2: Access 2 weeks after release.
Tier 1: Access to the previous stable patch (similar to our current model).
Why this change? I’ll be honest: developing a game of this scale is a massive undertaking. This new model allows me to:
Invest more in the game: Better art, more polish and more frequent updates.
Reach a wider audience: Launching on Steam will give TrueClash the visibility it needs to grow.
Sustainability: It ensures I can keep working on this story we all love without burning out.
Special Note for Our Patrons: Steam Keys
I also want to make sure that those of you who have been supporting the development feel properly rewarded.
I am planning to provide Steam Keys for Season 2 to our long-term supporters. I am still finalizing the details (such as a minimum lifetime contribution or a specific duration of support), but my goal is simple: if you have already backed the game significantly here on Patreon, I don’t want you to feel like you have to pay for it again on Steam. I find it only fair that those who helped build this game get to own it.
I understand that moving away from a 'completely free' model is a big step. But offering a 15-hour "prologue" for free is my way of ensuring no one feels forced into a purchase they aren't sure of.
The Road AheadPlease keep in mind that these changes will happen gradually. Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll be sharing more details, concept art and "Beach Saga" teasers as we lay the groundwork for this new chapter.
We are still several months away from the official launch of Season 2. We want to take the time to ensure every system is polished and every story beat is perfect before we make the transition. We'll be here earing your feedback on this change and on every step of the way to answer your questions and keep you updated on our progress.
Thank you for believing in TrueClash. Let’s make Season 2 legendary!
PS. To clear up some confusion regarding the update schedule:
Nothing changes for you here! Patrons will continue to receive updates at the same frequency as always. Here is how the content is structured:
1 Season: A collection of several Chapters (the full "Beach Saga" is a Season).
1 Chapter: Composed of 3 to 4 Patches.
1 Patch: Released every 6 weeks right here on Patreon.
The big difference: While you get the story piece by piece every 6 weeks (Patches), players on Steam/Itch.io will have to wait several months until all those patches are combined into a full Chapter before they can play it.
