Updated CG's felt good. They are improved the game i think. But I think there is something wrong with Harry...I don't know what but it's weird. Lighting system is perfect. I loved the new content. It was good, Improved the dialouges. Also I have a question, When will we going to see Diego in infirmary ? I'm so excited about it

Well, overall the game looks fine, but overall there is still a lot to work on (new and old bugs, not all images updated for already redesigned characters, waiting for the story to continue, etc.). Of the things I didn’t like in general: - Maybe before the game used to pull up the settings from previous versions, in this same music 100% was too loud initially, it certainly did not cause good thoughts about the author, I would still suggest reducing the volume of the default settings. - The scene between Mafalda and Adrian at the beginning of the game lost its vibe because of their redesign. Mafalda no longer looks like a character to whom tongues are applicable regarding her appearance and clothing, while Adrian looks like a poor student or a regular collar or even worse. I won’t go into detail as my thoughts on the characters have already been posted on Discord, and it’s a my own opinion, I’m sure many others will like them. - The approach to depicting a protagonist as a black abstraction is not much liked, previously it was a specific character depending on the choice (man/woman + skin tone). I remember that in the old posts this was much discussed and apparently decided to come to such an option, but for me it is a disadvantage. This abstraction could be removed altogether, but then some scenes lose their added touch of emotion. Generally speaking, this is a point of contention, and it’s interesting what the future will bring. Regarding your questions: How do the updated sprites and CGs feel? - Almost for all of them I've written my opinion on Discord, but as there was no discussion of Rina and her image was also updated - on the one hand I can understand why you decided to portray her as a swung female fighter, on the other hand it looks a bit creepy (like Abby from TLOU2). I think this addition of masculinity is definitely not appropriate, but it’s my subjective opinion. She did not need to be rocked to win in fights, so the previous format of body shape suited her better, especially given her clothing, hairstyle, and accessories, in general there was definitely an impression of a character which is now broken. We don’t know much about her character yet, but if she really spends 24/7 in a swing and puts on weight - then you succeeded. Does the new lighting system add to the experience? - In the club at first it seemed a bit strange, but overall it was a very pleasant addition, as they say the devil is in the details and here it worked pretty good, bravo. I don’t know if you plan to use something similar for other scenes (neon lights in the city and in the arena, in general the play of light depending on the room and lighting), it’s a big job and I wouldn’t spread this out until the release of the first season, but if something like that comes up in the plan - it’s cool and I wish you much success with it as well. What do you think of the new content? - Not much can be said, the system with dedications is still poorly integrated, but overall as discussed in other branches this is an interesting feature and makes you want to try it more, but for now it works little and mostly where it is expected since many of us have played the current story many times and already know where and what to expect. I would separately highlight some character adjustments/additions to the animation, which adds to the scene some flair. It’s nice that with each patch you make adjustments to already existing scenes (text, images, etc.). I like the music, but we’ve already mentioned it and if I’m not mistaken some tunes have been added with this patch. But in general, I’ll be honest - the patch is small for the amount of new content, but as mentioned it should be an intermediate one, but even for intermediate content it looks like cut corners. I’ll chalk it up to the fact that previously you used to work alone - we’ll see within next 2 versions how the game will change with your team changing, but for now, any conclusions or observations are a bit early. And what about "Bluelight studio" mentioned in the end? Have you got extra hands in the form of some agency? Can I congratulate you or did I miss something?

The updated models look really good! I loved the old ones too of course, but playing through now feels like it’s a fresh new experience 😄😄

Frogs and Bumblebees

Like what Tony K experienced while having coffee with Harry after I asked "Is this the style you like?" an error screen with 'and exception has occurred' popped up. I also had an issue with Harry not changing out of his try hard outfit for the pre-match/disco panther scene despite the dialogue option saying otherwise. Loved it all otherwise. :)

Rainbow Otter

Regarding Tony K and Frogs and Bumblebees, yes the issue was actually already mentioned on discord - BTW I encourage you to join us there! 😉 In terms of this specific issue you two are pointing out, despite it's being frustrating, for now you need to "ignore" the issue, and play further. This issue is currently fixed but will be live with next patch.

Luhnaire

Hey guys! Finally cleared my first run yesterday, so I thought I'd give my opinion here, too. Do remember I've only did my "true run", though. That is to say I haven't even met some characters (like Rina) and I haven't talked with Joel, for exemple. Now, into it! You'll find the answers you asked for in the big wall of incoming text, I swear. You just need to read it all :p So... I never know if it's better to begin with the positive or the negative, so I'll try the negative, for once, to end with the good stuff :p Overall, the upgrade was great. But there are few things that I'm not completely convinced with. JOEL I mentioned this before, but I'll say it again here, somewhere it will stay. Joel, even though I only met him briefly, really doesn't give the same vibe for me. And I miss the older one. I even kinda lost my appeal for him, sadly. I trust Zak's writing to rekindle it a bit later down the line, but as of now, I feel quite indifferent to him. He has this nice and cozy vibe, like any regular handsome guy, that doesn't match with the "weird smile" Rina mentioned. He lost his socially awkward and head in the clouds features that made me like him this much. But yeah, let's just stop here for him. HARRY I also still don't like the realistic proportions for Harry. He has a big head, and even though it's better in game when he's surrounded by others, because I don't focus on it this much, I can't completely shake it off. MATT And finally... I know Otter's gonna hate me for this (no, I know he won't, I already told him XD), but... Matt? Well... Really not convinced. I'm really sorry, because I know you took so much time for him, but I'll try to explain at least one last time what feels off for me. First, I read it somewhere, and I agree he lost some of his Asian traits. But honestly, it's still okay, he never was super Asian to begin with. His default posture, though, seems weird for me. I always feel like he's slightly benting forward, like he's hunchbacked. There's something a bit uncomfortable in the way he stands, too. Especially when his hands aren't in the hoodie pocket. Almost as if he's always a bit flexing. You know, those gym guys that walk with their arms always moving in one block, not swinging in a more usual motion, like most people do? Well, that's how I feel about Matt right now. Before the upgrade, he really felt more like a cosy friend, socially awkward at times, but easygoing and nice. His posture where he was holding one arm with the other hand, gave that "I'm not super comfortable" vibe that made him a bit more relatable for me. Now, I'd describe him as a handsome guy overly confident. And maybe that was what you wanted. When I first saw him in the prologue taking his fighting posture, too (when the old guy surprised us), it felt a bit cringe and weird to me, honestly. His expressions, too, didn't help. His default smile can't match with how I pictured him before. He has this cocky attitude that I can see him with, but not so often. Most of the time, I feel like his mouth is a bit strange. Like the upper lip is too small compared to other expressions, or the mouth is too close to the nose. Weirdly enough, at first, I even had trouble to get into the new patch because I felt weirded out by Matt. Of course, everything isn't so bad. His body got a nice upgrade, for sure. The sprite's quality is way better. Sometimes a bit too much, even. Because the shower scene feels a bit too much like older him and not enough new him. But... well, I guess you got it. I do love some CGs with the new him, though. The thumb ups after beerpong is peak, for example, and I could simp all day from the one we have at launch (the one with several guys). I also love that his purple/reddish eyes are more visible, now. I love this color for him. I also like the hoodie look on him, and his pose with hands in them is my favorite (even if I still have that hunchback thing). I read all comments, so I know I'm the only one writing about that, and you know what? I'm happy everyone enjoys them. But it might change my plans for my romance paths, for sure. Now, onto more positive things :p LUCAS Namely, Lucas is growing on me each passing day. He's just everything I love in someone. His sprites were already quite good before, so he doesn't change that much, but I will thank you for keeping the not full frontal view. I feared it might have cause a Joelesque-like issue for me. I read through the story's heavy parts again yesterday, and he sure shone through it. He makes me cry, laugh, smile. He's a wild ride, and I'm really starting to consider if I wanna do a Diego or a Lucas run first. Sometimes, he has a few weird things going on with his face, but that's something I think applies to everyone, so I'll mention it at the end. He does look a bit cross-eyed at times, though? His introduction with the new CG and how it all is presented is way better, too. So good to look at! Loved having this dual type of screen like on the match, with Adrian on one side and Lucas on the other one. It was really satisfiying to watch. And Lucas did look better. Not as in "more pretty", but as in "the CG felt more natural and correct". So yeah, great job on this one. ADRIAN He's an ass. ... Um? Oh, you needed more? O... kay. Well, I like his upgrade. His tuck in shirt makes him a bit more hung up, and less confident, in a sense, but the guy showed us more than once he had insecurities, for sure, so I'm not sure that's a problem. We actually don't know him that much yet. RINA I only watched at her sprite in the game's files, but I love this new look on her. She definitely got a nice upgrade. Her face is great. It gave her more confidence, and the art is more effective at what it does. LISSANDRA Her new sprite looks really good, no matter how I'm mad at her. Lol. It even looks so good that I wondered if the CG didn't suffered the comparison. But yeah, it's really clean, and I love the work you made on her. ... But I still hate her nosy attitude. MAFALDA Still love her. Overall, it's the same as Rina. Her new sprites are really a good upgrade. It feels cleaner, and better in general. Especially the outfit, in her case. And I really just see an upgrade version of her, it doesn't feel like anything changed in her personality. DIEGO Diego is a middle ground for me. Like, he's okay. But he also suffers the same issue as Matt, in a way. He went from imperfect guy with overly charming features to handsome guy. And I guess it's okay, but I liked that he rubbed on me as I learned to know him, thinking he was better looking because I started to like him, instead of the opposite. But overall, there's nothing wrong with him, honestly. He still feels like him. But a perfect version of him. And the sprites, like Matt, did need an upgrade. Some sprites had weird abs, for example. EVERYONE Now, something that I noticed on most characters, but especially Lucas, Diego, and Adrian. They do look more realistic, and it's okay. It's a choice you took, and you stood by it, so great. But on the other hand, some expressions are very cartoony, and got me out of scenes because they stood out. Namely, Diego's surprised look feels a bit too much. Especially when sometimes, it feels over the top. Like a little furrowed eyebrow would have been enough. The reversed smile when characters were sad is also a bit too much. Like the mouth just becomes very large once of a sudden. The mouth sometimes also feels so big. It's true for Harry, Adrian, and Lucas, at least. It made them look like they had mouth plastic surgery to pump it up. Sometimes even on simple smiles. But well, since it's not a niche thing that happens to only one character, it can be a choice. I just don't vibe with it. GENDERLESS REN Finally, I'd like to mention that it was a good idea to take the genderless route for the CGs. It's easier, for many reasons. But on Diego's hug scene, it did feel a bit less intimate, because you're trying really hard to show things while not showing, if that makes any sense. Not very important, but I wanted to mention this. Now, onto the only positive stuff :D THE UI I. LOVED. IT. This menu you have when you select where you're going is peak. I was looking at it with awe. It really is so good to see the silhouettes of the characters in there, to allow us to guess a bit, makes it mysterious and appealing. And it helps a bit with scenes like the night club, where there's so many things to do. ANIMATION AND LIGHTING So smooooooth...! It really helped to bring some dynamism. I was even really surprised when Diego started blinking during his one on one scene. I wasn't expecting it, and it was awesome. As for the ligthing, it was so smooth as well that I sometimes didn't even see it. And that's not because it's bad, but because it blends in really nicely. I did see the lighting in the night club, though. Those lights were dancing, too :p The only thing I didn't like about this system is when Disco Panther aims the light at us before the dancing mini games. The flashes were too numerous, and too bright. As the hypersensitive-to-light me, I was glad it stopped. ABOUT NEW CONTENT I finally was able to make a Harry friend route that I really loved all the way through. It made me feel good, when before, I had to force myself through its beginning. So yeah, thanks for that. I also got new information about some new guy, Ace, and I can't wait to meet him in game. I already mentioned the Adrian/Lucas encounter, but yeah, this was great too. I noticed also that Matt no longer only has Lissandra telling him about the Alvarez bandit article. He read it from the start, and he made the error reading. Lissandra only confirmed it, in a way. So maybe you're trying to make us not look so mad at her, and I couldn't help but think this was gonna have some importance later down the line. We'll see, but I don't believe in coincidence :p There were new artworks in the night club, too, for where Matt sits. I was surprised, in a good way. It looked nice and clean. Sadly, I think that's all of the new things I saw, since I only did one run. I can say, though, that the writing got me again. From Diego's one on one scene before the fight to the hospital scenes, I was crying or feeling emotional about things. Haha. It got me hyped for what's to come, and I really do love how you handle the writing. I don't know if we share some important themes, if I overreacted to things you thought weren't important (like Harry's "Oi" in Diego's past scenes), or if you're really just good at creating feelings, but it felt great. Loved it the first time, but knowing in advance made it even better in some ways. And yes, by that, I mean Lucas. The guy made me emotional right from the first scene with him, this time XD Couldn't try the skip button yet, but I will, promise! I'm just waiting for the memory log to actually try and unlock everything, so this will come in handy at that moment :) Overall, even despite the things I didn't like as much, you guys did a great job, and I'm very happy to follow TC's next chapter! Honestly, I even think that if you haven't specifically told us to review the sprites and CGs, I wouldn't have said half of the things I said. I think you know me enough to know I'm trying to be as constructive as possible, and I'm available if you wanna go over some points on Discord! See ya on the 15th, team :p
