This song was so catchy and we were singing along by the end of it! How many of you HAVE to listen to this song every Christmas or it's not Christmas? We definitely have movies we have to watch every year, but songs??? hmmmm! Well....we are officially making this song our annual tradition!

I’ve never seen the animation before with the song I’ve only ever seen Slade singing it, I’d say the animation is pretty meh. Watching Slade singing it is much more fun

No ,no, not this video, just a clip from Top of the Pops

I've never seen that video, I didn't like it much TBH 😄 it lacked the energy of the song, to me anyway. It's more fun watching the band on Top of the Pops! 🙂 I'm compelled to scream 'it's chriiiissssstttmmmaaaassssssss!!!' at some point on christmas day to annoy everyone. I do really like this song but I probably wouldn't put it on specifically, nor any christmas song. There's no need to because you hear all the main christmas songs everywhere if you go shopping or listen to the radio you can't get away from them! 😁 There isn't a definitive favourite because everybody has their own opinions of course, but Fairytale of New York does regularly come in at number one when they hold polls about the top christmas song etc.

Strangely, you've actually seen Noddy Holder before, the lead singer of Slade. He was on WILTY when James Acaster was telling the story about trying to drown himself when he didn't get the Spice Girls album for Christmas. He was on the opposite team.

Uh oh! Maybe we need to find a better version and react to that one. Does anyone have a link to a version you recommend? Greg

Julie

If you are going to react to anymore British bands, R.E.M. is a good place to start.

I love the song and liked the video, but the Top of the Pops one was better.
