We did it! First episode of The Inbetweeners is done! We were scared because so many people said we weren't ready for it. lol! I think we handled it pretty well. No turning red or covered eyes or anything LOL! In fact, we thought it was good and are excited to see how these little crumbsnatchers handle life.

Cider is alcoholic in the UK. They're allowed to have it at 16 as long as it's with a meal. A carvery is where you go up for a plate with a choice of meat and you add your potatoes, veg and gravy etc. A 'fruity' is short for fruit machine (slot machine) The machine they were playing where they were telling the other kid the wrong answers was a quiz machine. I don't know why some people thought it would be too much for you! 😁 It built it up in your minds too much I think.

I think they are thinking of upcoming episodes,i don't wanna say too much because i think they read the comments, but there should be a few key scenes that can be jarring

I guessed they were talking about later episodes but it still doesn't get as bad as some people have made out, just in my opinion. I saw a comment from someone saying they shouldn't even watch it because it'll be too much for them. Maybe they will be well and truly shocked, it'd make for a good reaction anyway :D I can't wait to see their reaction to series 3 ep 1.

This is essentially a documentary about how school is in the UK, at least when this was made and before. The two writers are Gen X and it’s based on their experiences so I don’t think that should be an issue

High School generally isn’t separate here, we have Secondary School which is 11-18 - so Middle School and High School combined. They’re in Sixth Form which is 16-18 (or Years 12 and 13 which is what we have instead of Grades, the numbers don’t align) In Sixth Form you study 3-4 subjects only at A-level and those determine what University you can get into - and here you don’t have a major you apply to study a single subject (I did History) unless you do joint honours then it’s two subjects.

Cider, Perry and Mead are all alcoholic drinks, as Bella said cider here is only ever used to refer to what is hard cider in the US - but it’s usually much stronger than what you get in the US

Dave

I wonder why this version has different music in it compared to the original Great reaction though!

John Davis

yeah music is not right, very weird lol threw me off

John Davis

glad you're reacting to this, epic show! your end credits thoughts are kinda correct, it's going to get a lot worse in terms of awkward sexuality stuff but it's hilarious. people said you're not ready but i think everyone can relate to one of the characters at some point so you'll love this show

Fantastic! This reaction made me join your Patreon. Hope you'll check out PEEP SHOW as well.

Greg is 6 foot 8 😉

We just looked up his height on the last Taskmasters...coming out soon to you guys! He was standing up and Josh Widdicombe stood next to him and we were shocked!!!!

Hey Dandelion! So cool! Thank you for being here! Yup, I think Peep Show is winning 2nd place on our recent poll so we'll be doing it soon! Find the recent poll and vote if you haven't already!❤️ Lisa

Oh oh! That's weird. Greg is getting it from Amazon Prime. They wouldn't let us get it from the Channel 4 website because we need a UK Credit card. It was weird. The different music may be helping us, though, because episode 2 was not blocked at all. Episode 1 was blocked but we are trying to dispute it now (this is for YT upload though- Not here) Nothing gets blocked on Patreon Yay!~ Lisa

Amazing 🥳 I think you’ll love it

Perry is pear cider, and mead is honey - it’s lovely. If you get to the UK try some scrumpy - that’s proper strong cider, usually associated with the southwest of England. I think legally you can have wine with a meal at 16. It used to be 14 not long before this. The drinking age is 5 in your own home…

Kieran B

They’re brilliant writers, I was lucky enough to be directed by one of them as I was an extra in a comedy by the writer of Friday Night Dinner (another good series to check out and also stars the actor that plays Will) - so got to meet two comedy heroes. Sadly the series I was in wasn’t too great, probably my fault 😂

Brill Smith

we call slot machines "fruit machines" or "fruitys" because of the fruit symbols that show up like cherries, lemons etc

Lee Dellbridge

I've put off watching this reaction as it was one of my favourite shows but as I'm now in my mid 40s I feel I'm not who this is for. But Greg Davies is great in it!

It is weird they still wear uniforms in 6th form...we didn't in the 90s.
