‘James is a comedian.. oh and Rhod too’ They’re all comedians Lisa 😂

Joanna

How weird is it that we get Bertie Basset references in both of todays videos! The stars aligned on that one!

Mark

Buckaroo was a kids game where you balance items on a toy horse then when it gets too heavy the horse kicks out everything falls off it

EuanTyumi

Seemingly the first version was made by a US company too, surprised they've not heard of it!

EuanTyumi

The javelin is horrifying lmao, even now that I know it's coming. Pretty sure I yelled FUCKING HEEELL?! the first time I saw that, was expecting a cricket ball or something to fly in not a caravan puncturing javelin!

Nick Jarrett

do you remember karl and warwick doing those laughing exercises in india? they're supposed to make you feel good

Nick Jarrett

you have heard of buckaroo before. "buckaroo or chess?" is my clue. I would reference the Wikipedia but it both gives the game away of my clue and it mentions a future taskmaster series

Pedro

So this is the one I saw live. I didn't know know Jess before the recording so my first introduction to her was the "what happens when you wear long gloves and a boa to senior prom" line and her failing to make any circles. She became one of my all time favourites

Pedro

Also with the live task. When Alex was trying to explain it to the contestants they just weren't getting it and it took like 10/15 minutes of questions from them, then the hanger broke almost immediately.

Silk

Geoblocked. Hmm… maybe you could… kinda… take a quick trip to the uk to watch it 😉

Joseph

Yeah the only non-comedian contestants so far have been Richard, Mel, and Alice. So it's about 4.5/5 comedians per season.

Queen Naga 🌶️

There’s only a handful of people ever who aren’t comedians - Richard osman, Alice Levine, one in s12, one in s19

Fun fact Jessica knappett looked over at Alex while collecting her prizes and she pretended she was going to smash Greg’s gift for Rhod’s wife. Alex did an evil grin and nodded to encourage her and she did it. Greg and Rhod were upset and the art department glued it back together. Sian got it back in the end. You can see Alex burst out laughing, naughty boy.

s02e03 tentacles of doom (the 3 bishops) Anyway, let's play a game, get your mind off it. - Chess or Buckaroo? - Er Actually, I wouldn't mind chess today. - Really? - Only joking. Buckaroo, of course. But only if you're ready for a good trashing. Dougal, you've never actually beaten me, ever. Oh, right, yeah. Still, eh? Buckaroo, the sport of kings(!) It won't be so bad.

Rhod and Greg met when they both applied to do a standup course together so they started comedy together. They lived together with roisin during the edinburgh festivals over the years. Rhod’s wife is a comedy writer and she cowrote Greg’s sitcom, Man Down with him. Rhod Gilbert had cancer a few years ago and Greg helped support him through it. Rhod made a documentary about his cancer journey for channel 4 and Greg is in it briefly. It was really moving. Once the series is over, I can send you links to two amazing interviews. One is with rhod and James discussing their time on taskmaster, and another is Rhod’s appearance on James and ed gamble’s off menu podcast. Rhod and James discuss taskmaster, Rhod’s cancer, and tells stories about Greg. There’s another one where Greg, Sian and rhod tell stories etc - I’ll send the YouTube links. And the outtakes for this series are epic, 3 parts

EuanTyumi

A few dozen extra health and safety meetings after was probably the fuss 😅

Stanna Stoner

I’ve seen this episode MANY times and just realized in the perspective task Phil says Fee Fi Fo Phil instead of Fee Fi Fio Fum

Lee Dellbridge

Mel is. Mel and Sue were a comedy duo for years.

SamSykes

Brilliant episode! Glad you're both liking Jess - just wish she was in something else good (have mentioned her having her own sitcom, years ago, where Bob Mortimer played her Dad - unfortunately not great!). Think the next episode is the one I've been looking forward to you both seeing 😁🤞🏻 Excellent tiny task, really tickled me. Looking forward to the next episode! Thanks for keeping us all entertained. Keep on keeping on 😊🖤

SamSykes

Oops, I was wrong - episode 7 is epic, for multiple reasons 🤭 Btw, I think Greg gave the men 3 points for the tiny task because you could see small compared to 'normal' and then large compared to 'normal', where as the ladies may have had a great idea, they did show the small and large on screen together at the same time, so that's probably why they got one point less 🤷🏻‍♀️ Great outcome either way 👏🏻 Go Jess!

EuanTyumi

Awww I love Drifters :(

Paul Liversage

The final game...Phil was guessing there were tricks...heavy looking things would be light and visa versa...apparently he was right...but not all objects were like that

SamSykes

Love Bob, really like Jessica, but felt nobody else in it delivered. Hoped she'd be given another series, or written something à la Bridget Christie...hopefully one day!
