We have a few things that need to be resolved in this episode. What is Peter's deal? Are Andy and Becks moving to Africa? What will have with Lance and his daughter. And there is a huge surprise at the end. Amazing episode!

Grab your cuppa and enjoy!

Cheers, mates!

". . . I thought I heard horses . . ." One of the most wonderful bits of TV ever I think. It captures those fleetingly rare and beautiful moments where sometimes, just sometimes, history reaches out and touches you individually. There's something about this show which borders on the magic, a little bit of the uncanny but always in a wonderful and warm way. Treasure lying there waiting. I've never been made happier or more excited by a bit of television than at that moment. In a show about two middle aged men digging in the dirt. Incredible. Don't forget the Christmas Special! Lance's Gold isn't done yet!

Your comment gave me chills… love love love this show so much!!!!!! I’m fairly confident I will cry when it ends! Lisa

I’ve been so looking forward to this one 🙏🏼

I just want to also mention the little scene with Lance and Sheila in the pub garden. It's so quiet and well done, but it's pretty clear that Sheila and Terry have some dreadful sadness in their past. The implication here is that they lost a child I think. Sophie Thompson's performance in it (when Sheila is normally such a bright, floaty, away with the fairies person) is just brilliant. It doesn't dwell, it isn't shoved in your face, but it's all the more poignant for that. My God this show is good.

Dryfesands

Yes, it's the 2015 Christmas Special next (no spoilers but it follows up on Lance's discovery) and then series 3, then the last Christmas Special.

What happened to Black Books on Monday? Has it been blocked?

EuanTyumi

Great series finale very different from the Peep Show one earlier lmao. Never mind chills watching the show, I had chills watching you two reacting to Lance digging in the earth at the end and when Kate calls Lance dad. Roll on the rest of it!

Greg and Lisa React_Official

Yes, we want to do it in the same order it came out and you guys saw it...so Christmas special next!! 🙌 Lisa

Greg and Lisa React_Official

Oh so sorry! No, nothing gets blocked here. But In YT yes! It's a mess over there. But we are releasing the last 3 episodes on the next 3 Saturdays. ~ Starting this Saturday . Lisa

2026-09-17 15:00 It sounded like you may have forgotten, but the sound of the horses was an echo from the distant past from the opening scene of the first episode of this season, when it showed us the origins of the aestel (the gold artefact that Lance dug up) with the Saxon monk rushing to bury it as he was being pursued by soldiers on horseback. Forgive me if you hadn't forgotten that scene, it just sounded like you may have. If so, don't worry, it's easy to forget stuff when you're reacting to so many shows, lol.

Oh I forgot to say in that comment (or maybe it was for my Peep Show one idk), I love you guys' thoughts and tangents and all that, it doesn't bother me that yous talk a lot. I know you need to reign it in to some degree, but I've never understood the (usually Youtube) comments about talkin or pausin too much. If I wanted the show/song/whatever with no interruptions, I'd not be bothering with a reaction at all 🤨 What does silence throughout a video and then a lazy "that was good" actually add to the original content? 🤨

EuanTyumi

I couldn't remember whether that was the start of this series or the next one or I'd have mentioned this too 😅

Greg and Lisa React_Official

I'm so grateful you started watching with us and don't blame you for finishing it! I'm going to be a mess when this show is over! 😭 I don't want it to ever end! ❤️ Lisa

Greg and Lisa React_Official

oh no way! We didn't remember that! I'm going to go back and watch that part now. I do remember the monk burying that! ~ Lisa

Greg and Lisa React_Official

OMG! We totally forgot that whole scene! I even said.."Remember that rock"! They showed that exact spot on that episdoe! Gosh...I wish I would have remembered that. thank you so much for pointing it out! ~ Lisa

Thanks for the reaction 👍🏼 Sheila has come to be my favourite character. I love her little monologue, sitting in the beer garden, talking about the child she either lost or never had whilst Lance remains oblivious to it all. A genuine tear jerker.

any chance we will see anymore Traitors before the new uk celeb series as i think it isnt starting for a few months, maybe the most recent uk non celeb version or a USA Celeb version (takes place in the same Scottish castle) would be great

SamSykes

Aww 🥺 The last time I watched this episode, my lovely Dad was still of this World. Watching it today was very different, as he passed away in January and he and my Sister are the ones who got me into The Detectorists in the first place. Lovely episode, with a dollop of melancholy thrown in. If any of you still have your Dads/Parents, make sure to hug them and let them know they're appreciated 😊🖤 Keep on keeping on!

Greg and Lisa React_Official

I know! Poor thing. How sweet to give us a small glimpse into who she is and how incredible she is for being so positive even with some type of pain. Lisa

Greg and Lisa React_Official

There’s going to be a USA celeb version!? For some reason, I cringed when finding that out…not sure I like USA celebs anymore lol. To answer your question, not sure. We still have to decide how and when to record it. I wish we could do it all!! Lisa

Greg and Lisa React_Official

Oh Sam! 🥺🥺 Greg and I both lost our Dads. Greg lost his when he was 7 to a chemical accident and I lost mine in 2006 to colon cancer. The biggest grief of my life. They are supermen and shouldn’t have never left us, right? I know your pain and I’m so so sorry. It’s been 10 years and I still talk to him and cry sometimes. Sending so much love. Hugs 🫂 Lisa

Philip Jones

What an ending eh! Always makes me cry!

Lee Dellbridge

I only watched the first 2 series and special so I need to watch the rest asap lol

SamSykes

Couldn't have said it better myself - and I'm sad to know you two can relate as well. It's a testament to how brilliant they were and how much they will always be loved though, that we grieve them and chat to them though and that's a lovely thing. Maybe it's too soon for me, but I still feel like he isn't fully gone. Massive hugs to you both and thank you for your kindness Lisa, it really is appreciated ☺️🖤 Big hugs 🫂 and love to you both ❤️ Keep on keeping on!

Craig Humphries

At the beginning of the Series 2, the artifact (I think it's called an an aestel?) was burried by a medieval monk, who was on the run as soldiers on horseback charged in to destroy a monestry. That's where the callback to horses comes from.

Wonderful!!

In this context "shitter" is the comparative form of the adjective "shit", whereas "shittier" would be the comparative form of the adjective "shitty". I enjoyed typing that 😁
