Boosh boosh stronger than a moose let’s gooo Electro boy is a banger, I used to have a playlist of all the boosh songs - so Jealous you’ve got more To come

Queen Naga 🌶️

Marks and Spencer’s is the one I’ve recommended you go to, it’s a whole experience . We get all of our food from there #snob I grew up with Tescos

The brunette electro girl is Dee plume and she was Noel’s girlfriend for a long time. They were in an electro band called robots in disguise. I saw them live and Noel came out on stage dressed as a gorilla

EuanTyumi

I used to work for M&S, the less said about that experience the better lol...

Haha I applied to be a health and safety manager at their new flagship store a few years ago and they called me and asked if I wanted a role in the cafe. No disrespect to anyone working in a cafe, but I’m applying to be a health and safety manager - turns out they’d promised the role to someone unqualified from another store I used to work at Woolworths as a teenager. Man the things I saw

The accidental timing of Lisa saying "oh no he's looking at us" then "WHAT ARE YOU LOOKIN AT?!" was hilarious 😂 I agree that it's a slower episode, still love it though! Kraftwerk Orange is a genius name for a band! I haven't had Kraftwerk on for a while, I need to rectify that. Bill Bailey has a German language version of the hokey cokey (pokey to y'all) in the style of Kraftwerk (which as I'm typing this I might have linked this already on a Black Books comment section 🤔) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwaxWoJPUC0 Love the folk version of Judas Priest's Breaking the Law at the end < 3 In a very tenuous other connection to Detectorists, the most popular version of the folk song Scarborough Fair that Noel was playing while wearing the KISS makeup was done by Simon and Garfunkel. Bill Bailey has also done a version of it in the style of Rammstein (this too is sung in German since Rammstein are also German) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvcgCFNsvm0 Connections all over the place

Oh my god I absolutely love this bill Bailey bit, my fav is the bbc anthem

Two hats played Don I believe, from “How not to live your life” brilliant underrated comedy I think you’d love .. cheers for this 🙏

🎤 cheese is a kinda meat , a tasty yellow treat 🎤 . Was never my favourite but is sung on a monthly basis. The damage this show has done

Christian Rolfe

That song at the end was more detectorist than Boosh, style anyway , not sure about the substance lol

This episode got the show pulled from Netflix back in 2020. They saw the Spirit of Jazz character as a form of blackface.

EuanTyumi

And it's not that Netflix give a shit about harmful use of black face, they just watch that bottom line

EuanTyumi

Let's just say I'm wholly unsurprised by that story lmao 🤦‍♂️ I don't give them a damn penny now

Lee Dellbridge

I grew up with Kwik Save lol I now use Tesco. My nana used to shop at M&S we looked at it like it was Harrods or something lol.

Queen Naga 🌶️

Oh my god Christian! Me and my boyfriend sing this to each other every time we have a cheeseboard. Even in nice restaurants. 🎤 I milk it from my teet but I try to be discrete ooooh cheese 🎤

Queen Naga 🌶️

It’s Judas Priest - Breaking the Law sorry loooore. To be fair I’m southern so that’s how I say it too

Queen Naga 🌶️

Yet the folk glam rock due wasn’t considered black face! I think it speaks more about the censorship as they were both black and white make up!

Queen Naga 🌶️

Neither do I, my partner pays for Ocado. It used to be Waitrose but now it’s m&s

Christian Rolfe

Definitely a folk reboot was needed, loooooore dictates

Christian Rolfe

It's engraved, it's an involuntary response to fromage

ANSWER: Mighty Boosh Name Origin.... So Noel's brother (Mike Fielding/Naboo) had big hair in childhood and another child walked past and said "Oh that's a mighty booooshhh" (his pronunciation of 'Bush') and they liked it so much they used it as the name! Also, it brings me so much joy you reacting to Boosh and appreciating it so much, you've made a comfort show feel new. Thank you!

I love that story! That kid may not even remember he called him that and it made such a huge impact. Lol. Thank you for watching!! Lisa

One of the reasons that it's seen to get better is that this first series was a radio show that was then adapted for TV, I think. Season 2 onwards was approached primarily for TV, which is where I think the difference is. Plus they had an indie hit on their hands after series 1, so likely had more budget.

I actually cried laughing at the Spirit of Jazz's hat-on-fire bit 😭 Completely forgot that happened! I love these reactions and I love extract comedy 😁❤️
