v1.6.1 Preview - The Quality Overhaul Coming Soon (Patreon)

Hey everyone! First off, I need to apologize for the lack of posts lately. Since I'm currently reworking a lot of old content for v1.6.1, there isn't much new material to reveal, poll on, or tease. However, I finally feel like I can show off a little bit of the facelift being done for this update.

This update is overhauling content prior to v1.4.0 which had lower quality art, less consistent character designs, and poorer writing in many areas. I'm bringing all of it up to the quality standards of the current content. Here are some examples (spoilers!) of the new CGs compared to the old versions.MC's Apartment in the opening sequence:

For many of you, this may just seem like minor changes. But if you zoom in and look at the prior content closely, there are quality issues everywhere. Bad linework, inconsistent character designs, poorly drawn eyes and faces, awkward proportions - the list goes on.

IMPORTANT: This update will cause a FULL RESET of save files. I apologize for this, and I know nobody wants their saves eliminated, but unfortunately because of how many changes are being made, Ren'Py has made older save files incompatible with the updated content. I tried to find a workaround, but wasn't able to make it work.

This does give people a chance to replay old content who may have forgotten some details (now with completely refreshed H-scenes and images), but if you don't want to replay the entire game, you can turn on skip mode in the settings and blast through content as quickly as possible.

I'll also be adding new dialogue in some places and refining existing conversations, so there's actually a good reason to replay even if you've experienced these scenes before.

Anyway, sorry for the info dump, but hopefully you guys can appreciate the visual quality improvements coming in v1.6.1!
