Say Baelon one more time!

Mari

youll hear abt the story with the dragon at some point in the book but the crazy part is it had nothing to do with the valyrians and may have happened before the valyrians even existed.

NF

If by “similar” you mean Dany would be offended if she saw the dragon being slayed in a play then sure, but I don’t think she’d react with violence. To that point I think most of the nobility would be offended if their house sigil was slaughtered in a play, Starks included.

Ambrosio Sanchez

egg being aegon was supposed to be super obvious to play into the dunk the lunk bit

Ambrosio Sanchez

Dany was def meant to be the bad character in comparison to Jon. obsessed w/ power, killing innocent ppl, hot headed, etc. the show didn't flesh it out well but it makes the most sense.

Ambrosio Sanchez

they mention blackfyre a lot because george hadn't written it yet when he wrote AKotSK. So it wasn't in the book lol. He came up with it afterwards.

Jono Taylor

Blackfyre in this context is the name of a House that took its name from the Sword that Aegon the conqueror wielded during the conquest and was passed on from King to heir as a sign of legitimacy of Targaryen Kingship. If you listen to the song Egg was singing, the lyrics tell a Story about Baelor being the first born and Maekar being the youngest, taking on a Bastard called Daemon and defeating him on a field of Grass which turned red afterwards from its traditional Green. This is the context of Westeros in this period where Dorne unlike in House of the Dragon is part of the Seven Kingdoms yet there's an easy peace existing at this time especially in a dragon-less world where the Targayrens are still ruling the country despite becoming Kings via the monopoly of all Dragons asserting their rights to the throne over all others.

ending of episode 4 (from knighting of raymun till the end) is probably my favourite scene in all 3 shows gives me chills everytime and music is just perfect mix of the got theme

Marcus Taylor

If you get a chance, just checks out youtube shorts or something with the actors that play dunc and egg.... they basically as the exact same IRL. And yea Egg is 11th or something in line I believe. Uhm the targarians are both trying to be tough BUT also, really... win over the people.... Baelor and Maekar are really there, with their kids to kinda do PR. Tourny of Ashford meadow is basically just a lesser lord's kids bday party its not some huge event. But their goal was really to improve their families reputation among the people, not really really to "show dominance" because the tension may have been there, BUT they had dragons so you can be tense we'll burn your entire army was always a thing when they had dragons

Ambrosio Sanchez

"The politics of that tho is insane" that's what people are saying

Deke_HFX

Licha looks at Lyonel the same way I look at Humfrey Beesbury

Avery

the GOT music coming in at the end is so good

Itss_NattyJ

Prince Daeron was saying he himself was unimpressive, not Dunk. That it’s ironic that he has an impressive gift (dreams) while being an unimpressive man.

Cassandra

You really believe Daenerys “I just want to be a girl, live in the house with the red door and the lemon tree, have a family and grow old” Targaryen would have the same reaction as Aerion? Also you’re talking about the same girl who tries to end slavery and loves the smallfolk, in fact Dany has more similarities and parallels to Egg, Like I’m curious to know what part or moment of any of Dany’s chapters you read so far made you come to that conclusion

Deke_HFX

TV version loved the small folk so much she burned thousands of them after seeing another one of her dragons die.

Cassandra

I don’t care about that shit Dumb & Dumber wrote, I only care about the Daenerys GRRM wrote, the real one 😘

Zach VanDyke

currently on the side of the road with a flat so needed this to pass the time. W upload🙏🏻

Zach VanDyke

the way they use audio in this show is so underrated

Marc van de Klashorst

Tanselle is performing the legend of Serwyn and the Mirror Shield. It's mentioned a couple of times in the first book. It's loosely based on the Greek myth of Medusa.

My_Cousin_Mose

Thats a very interesting observation about how all the Targaryens who call themselves dragons also having violent tendencies. Also there's no way I'm gonna be able to wait til next week to see what happens.

BloodyBen

Daeron called himself unimpressive, not Dunk

BloodyBen

Everyone is always shocked when they tell Dunk it needs to be 7 and not 6 when it being 7 is literally the point and they had Baelor explain that to us, as well as have Aerion tell us that if he cannot find others to join his cause then he'll be judged guilty

Arash

I think Ira Parker was talking about a saying he had heard "Virtue untested is no virtue at all". He did mention thinking that in this moment Baelor thought of that and decided to BE the man that the realm thought he was, That was the thinking behind him stepping up for Dunk. Which is just fkn beautiful i think!!

Gyro

Wish they gave him some lines

Flexorcist

Notice how the show do not partner weak to innocent as most shows do? What a good sentiment really

CM

Show Dany maybe. The showrunners really liked playing up her moments of violence, even in the earlier seasons. But even that' s a big maybe. But yeah, no way with Book Dany. At the very most she might be a little offended and leave; Book Dany has a habit of covering her ears when it comes to things she doesn't want to hear. But she definitely wouldn't be violent towards Tanselle.

Flexorcist

It also might be the next series

Beefi

1:13:14 Also ten times over?

You’ve gotta be the only person to be actively reading the books for the first time while watching this show, what a wonderful combo
