Clay F

Yay, excited about this.

Burak Yağız

HOLY REFRESH PULL OMG IM SO EXCITED!!!

My_Cousin_Mose

Thank you Deke for pushing for this! The lore of Middle Earth and its creation is vast! And absolutely wild that Tolkien was literally writing parts of the history and languages of Middle Earth while in the trenches of WWI.

My_Cousin_Mose

I've sadly noticed my attention span has also shortened in the last few years. I've recently been trying to not watch any YT shorts or TikTok but I've definitely slipped a few times already.

Cole Troutman

Wizards are basically angels sent down to advise middle earth... they take the form of an old man. Pretty sure gandalf is like 900 years old or so (how long he's been in middle earth in his "human" body)

Miguel

Its really tough to sync up like that :-( Could you show the entire screen of the movie for the first 15-20 seconds so we can get our copy more easily lined up with yours?

Miguel

And most reactors will still leave the video on the screen, just muted and blurred. You cant see the image but you can kind of tell when it changes from one scene to the next because of the change in the light on the screen, if that makes sense? So if you lose sync with the reactor because we had to pause its easy to get it back together?

Jono Taylor

Name a fantasy series and lot of them tie back to Tolkien in some form of inspiration. Should be noted GRRM and JK Rowling were/are massive fans of the Tolkien’s and his universe and books. Many great successful and unsuccessful fantasy writers acknowledge the importance of the professor in modern fantasy. Many of the elements and charactures associated with fantasy and race are outright taken with inspiration from the norms established by the man himself. Whether it be magical creatures long pass in favour of the race of men/humans who came after, or the notion of a messiah type figure and the restoration of order and promise into the future by the return of a promised saviour.

Jono Taylor

Crazy part is that Mordor can be considered Hell on earth , but it’s basically inspired by the Somme

Jono Taylor

Support what is said , think of it as the wizards and elves as being peoples as being what the god or gods as being not what was intended prior to the creation events of lords of the rings. Ignore the wizards as being seperate , but as angels sent by middle earth god, to correct the mistake associated with creation of life. To be clear elves represent the original being perfect beings not intended in the grand plan of creation. As a game of thrones fan consider elves as allies to humans or the realms of men compared to the corruption of the first men to white walkers or Elves as orcs.

Aviv K

No image so cant watch it

My_Cousin_Mose

I managed to sync up really easily after each pause but I think I just got lucky. Even just a timestamp would work.

Kemi Stanton

I have to recommend now that you've finished the film and I LOVE recommending creators to support other creators, there's a channel in YouTube called bugfish and she recaps lord of the rings while adding in lore context from the books and such, it's SUCH a fun video, highly recommend checking her out on your own time

heisenbewg

NO WAY ASOIAF, BREAKING BAD, AND TLOR??

Clay F

Play/stream your copy of the movie to sync with her reaction

My_Cousin_Mose

Yupp still the best movie ever! From Galadriel's opening monologue, the Council of Elrond, The Bridge of Khazad Dum, and to the Battle of Amon Hen this movie is nearly pure gold. Gandalf vs the Balrog is probably still my favorite scene in all media. And Howard Shore's score is perfection. I saw this in theaters a few years ago and I sat through the entire 28 minute credit roll just to listen to the music. I'm so glad you reacted to this and really no surprise at all that you liked it. It was both funny and made me die inside a little every time you called Gollum the Dobby thing lol. Yes you are correct there was so much love and dedication that went into making these movies. If you end up loving the series I would recommend on your own time watching the behind the scenes footage of the making of the trilogy. The joy and passion from everyone involved in the movie (particularly Liv Tyler) is infectious. I overwatched the trilogy as a kid and teenager and so about 10 years ago I started only letting myself watch these movies once a year. It was really fun to watch it with you this year.

Luuk

fun fact there was someone that edited the entire movie and each time sam took a step the scene of him saying ''if i take one more step it'll be the farthest from home I've ever been'' it was up for years and like 9 hours long eventually taken down few years back lol

My_Cousin_Mose

That had to have taken him so long to edit lol.

Clay F

Good point Miguel. Clear for the first 20 seconds, and then muted/blurred thereafter.

Clay F

Enjoyed your reaction.

Eeva K

Love the comments of wanting the ring and "What if frodo turns evil, that'd be sick 😈" Licha your dark lord is showing 😂

Louis

One of the greatest trilogy’s of all time 🔥🔥❤️

Jordan Clark

These movies are such classics. What’s so great is the fact that they hardly use CGI a lot of it practical especially the makeup.

Alexander Ocean

haha you can't go from showing the entire movie, to only showing like 2 seconds 😭 Most reactors leave the movie up, blur the screen, take out the audio, and put a timestamp in order for us to be better synced. And if you are feeling kinder you can edit out the parts where you pause and do other things so we don't need to resync. Anyways, amazing reaction!! Can't wait for the other 2 and then the hobbit movies!

Nick Lackie

Great to see you react to this! It’s probably best not to get too deep into what exactly wizards are at this point, but they’re not human and they’re not elves. Also, it would be great for next time if you had a timestamp or something to help sync up the movie with your reaction. Kinda tough to follow with no way to make sure you’re watching the same thing.

Cyr Dub

Will we get an "unedited" version so that we don't need a copy or will this be the only one ?

My_Cousin_Mose

This is why after 25 years it holds up to modern visual standards.
