Britt Lower was excellent as Helly, I would have liked to seen more of her but I think the show is trying to make a point of just how bad it can be for some Innies.

A lot of the camerawork and colors are all intentional. This show is so great. It says so much without telling you anything.

Your interpretation of Kier as being God is interesting The different versions of the handbook remind me of the old and new testament or the King Charles or many of the different versions of the bible. Even moreso Irving referred to Rickens book as "idolatrous" which in religious context means to worship false gods. So theyre literally not allowed to read other books

Outie Helly and Innie Helly might not be so different. If you think about what Innie Helly did, it was a pretty ruthless solution to the problem she was facing, and a brutal way to hurt her outie self. That’s pretty similar to the way her outie was ruthless in her video message. From a certain point of view, you could say they’re almost identical except that their interests are in conflict.

“What’s the point of being severed if it’s still secretive in the first place?” I personally think it’s because if the innies knew exactly what they were doing then maybe they wouldn’t do it. Like Petey said what if they are killing people for 8 hours a day? If it’s just some numbers you play around with then it wouldn’t feel like a moral dilemma to the innie and they don’t have enough context to question the why of it all, while for the outie they can’t question the what or the why or the when or where.
