This episode reminded me of Chaney and secret service defying Bush orders to go to DC during 9/11 to protect him..kingsguard protects the position more than the person

Reiss

Let’s gooooo!!! Rhaenyra has a third son Joffrey with Harwin/Laenor lol. Then Aegon & Viserys with Daemon :)

Licha Reacts!

Thank you for reminding me! I was thinking there was a third but I couldn't remember 😂

I find it very strange Dragons can melt castles but can't burn a rope?

I really dont like how they did my boy Jace. Book version took control of the council, acted as king, named Corlys hand, invited the dragon seeds, sent away his siblings, secured the pact with the Vale and North, then flew to fight when the pirates captured them. Rheanyra was bed ridden from from Lukes death in 1x10 until now. I understand in the show why he locked her up. He needs to prove himself especially now that his claim is even weaker due to the dragonseeds. The queen shouldnt go into battle until absolutely necessary. She has studied history but not prepared for war. Jace being a male has studied and prepared for it. He also just wants to keep his family alive. He knows he could die but dying making sure his mom gets to the throne doesnt matter to him. There is a goal and Rheanrya needs to live for it to happen. From team black view Alicent and her family are the creators of this conflict and have already set 1 trap to lure out and kill a dragon rider. Everybody would think this and taking kings landing would be traps. Cant let the queen go into a trap. Rheana is also kinda at fault here. Jace and Baela were trying to fight her because she jumped in on a dragon who doesnt know enough and has no rider xp. They took time away for fighting the enemy because they thought she was the enemy. They couldve burned dozens of ship with that time, maybe even all the dragon weapons.

Lothar knew Corlys would be derailed by the burning of Hightide but she didn’t take into account his natural son who grew up hating his father and the castle that he built. Alyn is a skilled warrior, a great battle commander, and he has major respect from his men. Him and Aegon are my favorite.

It's not strange, it's dogshit writing again. We're close to another D&D situation with ryan condal. Not as bad yet imo, there are still some very cool parts. But some scenes feel so off to me and make no sense.

Jace was flying low because of her other than that he had good command over Vermax don't think he would have got hit again if Raina doesn't show up

Why would Larys and Aegon be expected to swear fealty to anyone if they are in service of the citadel? I thought that organization is meant to be neutral.

Marc van de Klashorst

Keep in mind that the first two episodes were supposed to be episodes 9 and 10 of Season 2. So lots of big things happen in the next episode as well.

I think you're confusing the citadel with the night's watch. That, or when a maester is assigned to a lord's keep they are sworn to serve whomever holds that keep no matter the circumstance, but the citadel itself is still a part of the realm and above all serves the crown like everybody else. That's why they have the conclave to elect the grand maester.

Mari

lord corlys had two castles driftmark is the ancestral home of the velaryons and then high tide which was a castle in lord corlys’s own making

Kemi Stanton

I love that Celeste could sense you getting upset what a sweet baby 💜🥹

IcySystem

I didn't think of the night's watch, no. I remember that maesters give up their house names as well. That's why I'm thinking the citadel would be neutral too (at least on paper). In any case if the citadel and it's servants serve the realm, why would Larys and Aegon be expected to kneel? It's not their choice which king or queen they serve, they are bound to their orders by the citadel (if their lie was true). Still makes no sense to me to demand them to kneel.

My_Cousin_Mose

Aemond kissing his mom like that was 10x worse than trying to kill Aegon.

Tylor

Nah idk all im seeing is excuse after excuse for Jace. If his mommy was a daddy he would have NEVER thought about doing what he did. Im sick and tired of people not listening to her because “a queen shouldn’t fight” blah blah blah. She WANTS TO!! And she is THE QUEEN you dont get to just ignore her orders and lock her away. I personally hope she beheads the guard who listened to him. And atp I’m glad he’s gone 🤷🏻‍♂️

Kemi Stanton

Ah that makes sense! They give up their house names to prevent any political biases between the great houses (like if a Redwyne knew their maester was from white harbour initially they might distrust them, and on the flip side the white harbour maester needs to be dutiful and set aside any grudge they might have with the arbour, if you understand what I mean) but that doesn't affect the loyalty to the crown overall, that's above fealty to individual lords and houses. Everybody is expected to swear fealty to the crown itself no matter what part of the realm they are from. I got issues with this episode but that one doesn't really irk me, personally.

IcySystem

It's just that it's totally meaningless if they kneel. First of all, they swear fealty under threat of death. Secondly it's not even their decision as servants of the citadel to decide who the rightful monarch is. It's a bit like asking press members or medics in a war zone to declare for one side or the other in a civil war.
