What a pretty trip across the country, hope you have a better time with allergies in Oregon.

I feel like Rhaenyra should make Alicent tell the public she's the true heir of Viserys and not Aegon

Daemon's fun he's having is my favorite part of this season

This entire episode was anxiety. The music never gave a second to relax. She is gonna snap at some point. Yay the queen practices communism smh. I kind of agree with Deamon about going somewhere else for gold. Not conquering per say but find one of her enemies and take all their wealth. Lannister, Hightower, Baratheon are all enemies and rich houses. With 6 dragons take what is needed from them. With the triarchy severely weakened now the free cities would be easier target also. It was a bad choice to deny Corlys but i understand why and he acknowledged them 5 minutes ago and she said not at this moment. He didn't give 2 shits about his bastard kids, but she did. She didn't say never. His pride was wounded and he lashed out but his house is not even close to the strength and wealth he once had. Alicent is expecting way too much. She and her house are still enemies. She helped take the city, but the challengers are missing and able to gain power.

I don't think the quote 'the air is thick with ghosts' is from asoiaf. Not a phrase GRRM used as far as I know. Others have mentioned it might be from a play called Ghosts from the 1800s.

Licha Reacts!

haha I just meant that the books say the red keep is filled with ghosts!

the Hightowers have been playing a game that the Lannisters were just starting with Tywin

i definitely agree with you about otto. it kind of feels like the writers were like "here, damn" and just showed us one last otto scene (in which he dies) it kind of felt impersonal to me? like idk it felt like otto's actor was checked out as well

I must disagree with you at the 54 minute mark. Aegon may not have seized it from the rich but the one scene we saw of him holding court (episode 2x1) he seemed like he genuinely cared about making the small folk happy. At the very least he seemed to be a big people pleaser. Otto convinced him that he had to take the people's sheep but he didn't want to. I think he would have found a way to feed the small folk. I will end this comment with admitting yes I have Aegon bias but I still think I'm right lol.

Hopefully everything works out great for Cam's (new?) job! Trevor is probably happy to be away from the dinosaurs.

That makes sense :) The describtion of 'Ghosts' has much in common with GoT. Funny, didn't think they would have a public play with incest for example 150 years ago: 'Ghosts is a scathing commentary on 19th-century morality. Because of its subject matter, which includes religion, venereal disease, incest, and euthanasia. it immediately generated strong controversy and adverse criticism.'

I agree that the music this episode was absolutely phenomenal about making the audience feel the anxiety and weight on Rhaenyra's shoulders, serious props to the team on that. Also, thank you for stating your position on the Corlys request, I feel like I've been driven crazy by no one understanding it this way!! I'm not saying they shouldn't be legitimatized or that he doesn't love them, obviously, but there are way more pressing matters at the moment and if he was really so staunchly on Rhaenrya's side when her troth was questioned, then he should also understand the political ramifications for her if on week 1 of her reign she legitimizes his children. She had argued for the duration of her sons' lives that they are legitimate, for their safety and for their standing because she loved them, despite the claims that plagued both them and her for all their lives. And fought for them to inherit the name Velaryon specifically. Doing this move (so soon) would be a self-admission and put Joffrey into the line of fire for his legitimacy as heir. Also in my opinion it is kind of selfish of him to press so hard on this issue, when he is literally on her counsel and can see all of the stress and shortcomings she is under right now. Give her a month or two, to find her footing first, they will still be his sons then so why does the timing matter?

Finally some real House Manderly representation on the big screen!
