Jesse does not understand all the overhead Gus has with his distribution network, plus the millions it took to build that lab. Walt and Jesse are well protected by Gus, and Gus supplies all the necessary supplies to do their job. They are in a clean air conditioned lab. Walt is right to tell Jesse to quit complaining.

Kafkaesk or Kafkaesque is an adjective derived from the very famous writer Franz Kafka (Jewish Czech - german language). He died 1924 at the age of 40. Kafkaesque means a situation that is bizarre, illogical, and nightmarishly complex, often involving an oppressive and confusing system where you feel trapped by senseless rules. His most famous work: Die Verwandlung (1915) translated the Metamorphosis (the Transformation): Gregor Samsa wakes up one morning transformed into a monstrous insect-like creature, a powerful symbol of alienation, isolation, and helplessness. This might be a bit of a stretch, but I don't think it's a coincidence that they named an episode after Kafka and his most famous work is about transformation. Walt said in episode 1: Chemistry. It is the study of what? Anyone? Ben. > Chemicals. Chemicals! No! Chemistry is... well, technically, chemistry is the study of matter. But I prefer to see it as the study of change.

Nothing to do with this episode. Would you ever /have ever done a video of the books in your library?

Gus's backstory is going to be interesting. Skylar has been thinking about the gambling story for awhile. Ever since Walt told Skylar that they were paying their bills for the last 6 months with drug money, Skylar realized she could not claim ignorance of Walt's drug activity and as her lawyer put it "You are now an accessory after the fact!" Skylar is looking at Walt in a new light, ever since Marie had said "The fear of death can change a man. I guess you learned that with Walt's fear of dying with cancer?" Skylar is starting to understand Walt's reasoning, but is now mainly concerned with protecting her family from law enforcement, and all this becoming public. Did you notice when Skylar is telling the story to Marie, Walt was leaning forward, wondering what she would say next. Walt is proud of her now for coming up with that, and allowing him to brag about how much he won. "Into the 7 figures, what can I say, I did very well!"

The scene with the pink nail polish representing Jesse in the trash makes me laugh every time 😂

Absolutely. Operating on his own, Jesse would be producing Captain Cook crap for peanuts. Way too much complaining on his part. But so many are falling in love with Jesse at this point. He can do no wrong. They love bad boys

Hahaha my mother is an accountant and even though she's miles away from me rn I could hear her clutch her pearls at "I learned how to money launder, should we try it?" In reality Saul simplified the concept. It's technically correct but if you did it exactly as he described it once you hit a certain threshold the IRS is gonna pay more and more attention to your shell business' income. All it takes is one eagle eyed accountant (like Skylar, funny enough) to notice your books are cooked. Just in case anybody here gets any ideas you gotta weave those layers like lasagna and pray nobody looks at you too closely. Not worth the jail time.

Hey Licha, I'm enjoying the steady flow of episodes, I appreciate the hard work! I don't think Walt is feeling as guilty as you think he is, at least not because of lying to Gus. I think he feels guilty for getting a bit stuck in a business that has driven a wedge between him & his family & put them potentially in danger. But the lie that he told to Gus was mostly to try to keep Gus from knowing that his brother-in-law is in the DEA. It's a lie Gus can easily & logically understand the motive for, so I don't think Gus is worrying about Walt's levels of deception. Gus's offer to Walt, $15 mil a year, open-ended has bad connotations to it. It was Gus's answer to Walt asking that his family have security, which implies being safe. Walt wasn't looking for a longer-term job in the meth business. He was looking for a promise that his family would not come to harm. Instead, Gus basically bought Walt for as long as he needed him, but that doesn't mean that the day wouldn't come when Gus only saw Walt as a loose end to get rid of. Now Walt feels like a trapped servant for Gus, plus relying on Gus to provide protection for Walt's family. Walt is safe only as long as Gus sees fit. That's the mindset Walt was in when he was driving; he was angry & he felt trapped. Franz Kafka wrote great books. Look him up to understand what Kafkaesque means. 'Metamorphosis' is one of his more famous books. 'Rainman' is a great movie with Tom Cruise & Dustin Hoffman. It'd be great to see you do a reaction to it, you'd love it. Real life setting, beautiful story. You seem so so sweet, I get the feeling you're an elementary school teacher. But zigzaging across the country wouldn't be very good for you if you were. It's not that Skyler is so good at lying; remember, she does have a little experience as a fiction writer, so she's good with a story, which I guess is being a good liar. 🤔 I think Hank knocked some screws loose in Jesse's head. 🤷🏻‍♂️ See ya! ✨️🔷️✨️

Jesse agreed to work 3 months for $1.5 million. Gus provides the facilities, equipment, distribution, etc. Jesse should quit whining, or he could quit the job. You should react to "Rain Man" (1989) (comedy/drama) (Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman). "I learned from the best."

John Cena

I pray you are doing Better Call Saul after this! If you love the characters, how they are written, how much depth the characters and their relationships have, well Better Call Saul takes it to another level.

Ramin Tyurin

The next episode is gonna be fire!

'I thought Hank was in his 30s' As someone who just turned 30, that made me feel old haha. Dean Norris (Hank) was 47 here.

I think Skylar didn't come up with this fully on the spot. I think she'd spent weeks now thinking of things she could possibly say to give an explanation if it became needed, or to explain her seemingly irrational attitude / the sudden falling out. Even if not exactly planning to use it, your mind would wander, and she might have thought of the idea before.

My_Cousin_Mose

Agreed on Rain Man. This is maybe the third time a character has mentioned Rain Man and every time the reference goes over Licha's head.
