One of my favorite movies ever and your reaction was so worthy of it's greatness! And the Brooks stuff gets to almost everyone who has a heart and any form of empathy!

Re-watching it you're hyperaware of how close the guards are to discovering the hole on Andy's wall when they searched his cell. And how the warden was holding Andy's bible where he kept the rock hammer. The warden just didn't open it. Such a beautiful and hopeful movie

Wonderful reaction! And don’t feel self conscious about Brooks getting to you. Everyone gets choked up by his story. You already mentioned your internet was acting up so I won’t mention the syncing issues. Heck, your timer overlay said 5 hours and 46+ minutes by the end of the film! 😂 But I will mention the time before your blur the movie and mute it’s sound. You don’t need to leave it unblurred for so long. I think it was over 4 minutes. One minute is plenty for patrons to sync their copy of the movie. I hope you got some food afterwards 😉

An amazing movie. One of the best of all time. Tangentially related is 'The Green Mile', another Stephen King story.

I’m curious on how you decide on what movies to react to. I’m used to Pareon polls but I don’t see that here

RX-1

Do you think you might do the 2005 War of the Worlds soon? It's one of my favorites and Tim Robbins also has a supporting role in that.

All these movies have been bangers girl maybe Shutter Island or Django Unchained next :D love from the UK

SpiffMan

Man, the ending of this movie is just so epic. They tease you that Red isn't going to be okay and then hit you with a massive payoff for all that suffering earlier in the movie. Keep up the great work!!

Michael

Never apologize or be embarrassed for showing emotion; it proves you are a person with feelings! BTW: The character really is called Red because he is Irish (with red hair), from the book (but can't imagine anyone but Morgan Freeman playing the character).

I enjoyed your reaction. My No. 3 favorite movie of all time (after GF and GF2). One of the best endings of all time.

Eddie Perkins

I am surprised it took me so long to watch this reaction because it is one of my top five favorite movies ever. Great Reaction

Rich Praytor

Should I continue to watch her reaction or go to my daughter's volleyball game?

As mentioned plenty of times in this film, this is about hope, not letting yourself be caged and live life. Andy did that for so many here, they almost got to him, but he endured and beat them, and in doing so, gave Red something to live for when he gets released too. Its a good one alright this film. You can read the Stephen King short story from which this is based on "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption", but the director Frank Darabont fleshed it out, so I'm sure its better than the original story. If you do watch this again, watch the comparison with Brooks and Red's release. The camera faces Brooks and the jail when he walks out, like he's walking from his safe space into the unknown, afraid; whilst the camera is behind Red, showing he's getting free from his cage to start his life over.

A lot of people I think didn't get or didn't like his role but to me it was one of the better parts of a movie I thought better left as just the original version. THAT one still gives mee some creeps at age 61! Tom Cruze's movie did NOT. Yeah I know what I misspelled (except I didn't bc he is my wife's car 😜).
