Alright, I gotta ask… What HAVE you seen? ;-)

LiteWeight Gaming / Reacting

Hahahah I promise I have seen a lot 🤣 but I tend to obsess with things and ignore everything else until my obsession is over! So I watched a lot of the same movies on repeat and missed everything else!!

Larry Darrell

I get that, based on You having a lot of thoughts after a film.. as do I, if you haven’t figured out by some of my comments. It shows you’re really paying attention, which is real cool. There are some movies that I’m just still so surprised that some people haven’t seen. Especially the ones from my childhood, that I assume were a staple of anyone’s childhood after mine. Such as… E.T. The Goonies Back to the Future Indiana Jones Terminator Ferris Bueller Top Gun Lethal Weapon Die Hard Beetlejuice Batman ‘89 Field of Dreams Home Alone Christmas Vacation Classic Disney Animated Films The Sandlot The Fugitive Toy Story Titanic & Jurassic Park, etc… I went through a long period myself in my 20s, where I tried to not repeat any films, and wound up watching a ton of new movies. This was when I dived deep into Classic Films going back below the 1970s to 1930s. Don’t know if that time period is of any interest to you or not, but there are many, many Gems to be found. Although, if you’re still working on the Modern Classics like Forrest Gump, Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan and Jurassic Park… then it might be a while before you get to the Golden Age of Hollywood Films. :-) But Hey, I’m enjoying what you’re doing and I hope you’re having Fun doing it. I’m here for the ride, for however long you want to keep going. Even more hoping that you wind up becoming a film buff. You’ve got the right Spirit for watching and experiencing films… if that makes sense ;-)

Funny, I was thinking along the same lines as Larry below. I have so many movies I’d love to suggest to you, but I have no idea what you’ve seen already. I’m new to your Patreon, and I’ve loved each of the full reactions that I’ve seen so far (you really broke me with your reaction to Saving Private Ryan). So happy to be a part of your community. So, since you’ve seen Jurassic Park, will you be continuing with the next 2 Park movies, and the 4 Jurrasic World movies?

Great list of movies Larry. Many of those were staples of my childhood as well. When I was in college, my roommate and I had the only VCR and tv on our hall. So we decided to start a weekly thing called the M & M Theatre (the initials of our last names). Basically, a bunch of guys from our hall would come to our room on Sunday evenings and we’d watch one or two movies. My roommate and I had a bunch of movies on VHS, but we’d also take a poll to see what movies the guys would be interested in seeing that we didn’t have, and we’d go rent it. And once a month we’d decide to watch a classic from the 40s, 50s, or 60s. That’s how I came to appreciate many of the golden oldies. Since you listed a nice representation of movies from the 80s, I’d like to throw in some more recent movies that I’ve come to love and have no problems watching over and over again: Mr. Holland’s Opus Braveheart Legends of the Fall The Last Samurai School Ties October Sky Dirty Dancing Parenthood The Patriot Overboard Like Larry, I’ve come to really appreciate and admire your insight and comments to the movies you’ve reacted to so far on your channel. I’ve only been a Patreon member a very short time, but I am looking forward to watching your channel grow as you continue with your cinematic journey. Like Larry, I am here for the long haul.

Great List as well. Your college days sounds like a ton of fun. That would have been a guaranteed thing for me every week. Movies and TV has always been my favorite thing to bond over and I’ve always liked to introduce films to people that I think they’ll like which will pique their interest and make them want to come back for more. I still have my VCR and old VHS collection from when I was a kid, and since then it has evolved greatly into DVDs and Blu-rays. My brother treats my house like a Blockbuster… which is what he calls it. Every time he comes over, he borrows a couple. When I was a kid, I used to daydream about being locked up in a Circuit City or Blockbuster overnight, and now as an adult, I’ve realized I’ve been “unintentionally” trying to turn that dream into reality.

The screenplay for this film was co-written by Michael Crichton, the author who wrote the original novel, so the adaptation is very close. Obviously, the movie is shorter, because it is a different medium. If the entire book was adapted, the movie would be 5 hours long. This is a common criticism of fans of any novel, but the film will never include as much as you loved in the book. It's just not a possibility. I believe the author, with the film makers, were able to capture everything wondrous that needed to be shown here. I saw this film 3 times in the theatre, when it was originally released. I wanted, throughout my entire childhood, to see a dinosaur. The people working on this film finally built real dinosaurs and showed them to me in a movie I will never forget.

“Your scientists were so pre-occupied over whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should”. The nature of Corporate greed wrapped up in a tidy little, unforgettable quote. You’re reaction to this movie was T-riffic. And once again, great insights in your outro regarding the layers of this movie, and how it’s not just a movie about dinosaurs. In between all the action is a statement about how the race to be the first, or to do it better, or bigger, or faster, has corporate bigwigs walking around with blinders on, only focusing on the end result. But the dinosaur parts ARE so cool! You mentioned during your reaction how you wished you could turn back time to see this when it first came out. I wish you could as well, because I was in a theatre when this movie first came out, and the experience was amazing. Just imagine feeling what you were feeling throughout this movie, but surrounded by a hundred other people feeling the same way. I’ll never forget it.

Dan M

And yes, I’d like to see your reaction to the next 2 Jurassic Park movies. They’re definitely not as good as the first, but they’re still a fun ride. And, you know…it’s dinosaurs!

Since you seem to be on a Spielberg kick I hope you do War of the Worlds soon, I think it’s one of his most underrated movies. It even has a sequence that’s pretty similar to the “raptors in the kitchen” scene.

Dan M

I second that recommendation. And third it, and fourth it…

Finally got to this one. When you released it back in September, I had just watched Jurassic Park earlier in the month for like the 500th time in my life, so wanted to wait. If there were a way to erase my memory of a film and rewatch it again for the first time, it would be Jurassic Park… or Raiders of the Lost Ark. Hopefully I could pick both. The scene where Alan and Ellie see the dinosaurs for the first time is one of, if the greatest scene from any movie. No matter how many times I see that scene, I get teary eyed. The “Awe” in that scene affects the viewer like very few do. My next favorite scene in the film, is the one you spotted as being important. When Ian Malcolm tells his thoughts to Hammond about the island. Goldblum’s delivery of those lines was perfect. So many great lines in such a short amount of time… https://youtu.be/F_7RvW-avZ8?si=RVLPZSikJlCrHbA3 Just about everything that Ian Malcolm says in the film is important or memorable. Actually all of my favorite scenes happen before the T-Rex attack. Multiple times I’ve put the film in to watch and then stop it when it gets to that point. I love the scene where the cartoon is explaining how they cloned the dinosaurs. It always reminds me of those kids educational shows that would come on in the morning or they would show us in school. I do recommend watching the next two films. They aren’t as good as the first, but still way better than the new Jurassic World films. And they star the original characters and their characters have a point of being there, unlike Dominion. The next one, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, stars Jeff Goldblum returning as Ian Malcolm. That’s reason enough right there to watch it. The third, Jurassic Park III, brings Sam Neill back as Alan Grant. It was a decent trilogy that is worth your time. Even if you don’t do a reaction to them.

Jaz 😁

Just watched this with you... I couldn't help but notice in the background behind you is that casper? Lol

Love this first movie, it was amazing when we first saw it in theaters.
