Happy Sunday Sinners,
Today, I would like to update all of you - as I tend to be a quiet developer, I sometimes neglect or outright forget to post. However, though I do not say much, I do stay busy. As seen in the photos drawn by our lovely artist, we have plans for a flashback sequence to build some of the lore out for Mara, our favorite potion seller, and her lover - Arika. We're calling it.. The Temple of Goon. More on that soon, and we're doing a poll so vote on if you'd like to see more sketches - we may end up story-boarding with them and including them in patches as we continue to refine the art needed for certain scenes. I would like to give more story and expand upon that aspect, to fill out the game with more content, but this process does take awhile.
You'll also be happy to know that we are in the process(more specifically, the artist is) of learning Spine2D, an animation software, and will be able to showcase some of the work later this month. One of our goals is to improve the quality of scenes, so moving visuals is a good, but time-worthy endeavor we have begun to work on.
Before I speak on the vampire game, I must say; there will not be a large scene patch this month. We've decided that in order to not forsake quality, and improve upon areas that may be lacking, we are going to work on sound, lore, and other aspects of the game that need a bit more love than the visuals. There will however be a patch for the game focusing on these things, such as adding more story/reworking the flow of content and improving the audio/ui/fixing bugs.
Our second game will be releasing in February, as I would like to bring a Godot build out, and it has been a tough engine to begin learning, but there has been much progress towards both games being in that engine. January will be another Drained and Tamed patch with more scenes, and we will continue on in February with the Vampire game, alternating patches.
Given the holidays are a busy time for us, alongside other obligations, we don't want to leave you hanging, but we do both believe some time to breath will help us to further refine the experience of both games, and it will certainly allow me to write a better story with more captivating words. This patch will happen near the end of the month, but will improve upon what's already there.
Thank you for reading, and we will continue working diligently to bring a better experience to all of you lovely patrons. We are excited to unveil animations when they are ready, and I personally am excited to add in more lore/audio to further enhance the game.
Happy Holidays,
