Hey everyone...So, business first. https://www.patreon.com/posts/113957695 is now available to all patrons. Edit: oh great. Fucking MARVELOUS. After MONTHS of there being no issue at all, all of a sudden Patreon's white knighting got Chapter 6 locked. I guess they must have some AI fucker scrawling all posts. I had to delete the lemon and resubmit it. Fuck you, patreon. https://www.patreon.com/posts/archive-of-iii-127704180 is now posted. It will be the last of the harry potter stuff for a while. I got a fair bit into chapter 4 and then the muse abruptly died, so I moved on to Thunderous Soul. I'll hopefully have chapter 10 ready by the middle of the month.

If that's all you're interested in, enjoy! As for me, I do have to rant for a little bit, so if you're eager to see me vent my spleen, stick around.

This has been the WORST single month I've had in years, if not the worst ever. Ever since the beginning of the year, I had a goal I was rushing towards and everything looked fucking GREAT. It was just fantastic! And now it's basically in flames.

Since the new year, I've basically tossed every dollar I got from patreon into paying off my car loan faster, with the goal of being completely debt free by July and quitting my current job so that I could focus on you guys. I love writing and I want to do more of it. I want to churn out more content for you all. The only reason I've only really been able to turn out two chapters a month is time constraints. I wanted to eliminate that so i could write more. I wanted to try to get to the point where I could do a decent-sized chapter a week, or a BIG chapter every two-weeks-ish at worst.

And with patreon going so well, I thought that goal was in reach. I really did.

And then April 2025 fucking ATTACKED. Between a whole bunch of bullshit, last month alone I lost $12k out of my savings. I won't go into it more than that, but that's about what happened. Only about a fourth of that went into something productive (paying off the car loan faster). And then, for some strange reason, I simultaneously had my absolute worst month on patreon in terms of month-to-month revenue that I've ever had. It wasn't even close.

And I really don't know what happened. Membership was pretty steady. it's not like I LOST a whole bunch of patrons. I just didn't get a whole bunch of new members like I normally do. Did we just NOT like the harry potter content or was it something else? I DID forget to mention the Patreon when I posted Supernova publicly last month, and if THAT was the reason... just... fucking hell man, that might be the costliest mistake I've ever made LMAO.

I don't know man, I'm just... bleh.

So double fucking whammy of pure, monetary agony. And it means that even when I'm done with the car loan in June, it would be SUPER fucking irresponsible of me to put in my notice. Just... Just PAIN. I was SO CLOSE.

I just want to forget last month ever happened. FUCK

Well, that's it for me. Thanks for all your support, guys! I'll hopefully see you on the 15th with more Thunderous Soul!

Apple I think also did something fucky with their TOS for the app store so patreon is paying less for people subbed through the patreon app on Apple devices, so maybe a notice for Apple users to make sure they have the subscription done from a browser instead of the patreon app. Sorry to hear shit happened like it did, I think most of us are here to stay for as long as it's possible so hang in there.

Sorry to hear you’re having a bad month. Hopefully next month you’ll have better luck? Us readers always appreciate whatever you write, so we’re rooting for you from our side of the screen.

😔🙏🏼 Sad to hear your month has been shit, but hey, May is just about here, and we all have an off month or two. Let's hope this one is better

ParaPhone

For the post just having been locked just make it into a google doc. I’ve seen a lot of other authors on Patreon do that due to the newer bs reporting and then locking it due to r-18 scenes

Kaminoryu

Fucking ouch. I’ve had months like that before. My most recent one was May of last year when my car finally gave up the ghost. But like others have said, I’m here for the long haul. Here’s hoping your issues are past and you can save up enough to do what you love by the end of the year at the latest.

Xander1994

Sweet baby fucking Jesus man that sucks something fierce man, hope May treats you better than April man!

Harry Potter? You mean the fully locked collection where only the first chapter has HP in the description and seems like it may have no real plot? That maybe the problem. All your other main stories haven't really been updated since January and that maybe the other problem. If you read a good story and it hasn't been updated in over 2 months you're not going to start a new subscription.

Wilmer Diaz

The solution to your problems is to publish more chapters of That Time I Got Flung Across Worlds & Fell on my Big Tiddy Redhead GF and resume the Monkey God story.

I was skeptical of the HP fic at first, but in the end it's great so far! As for quitting your job? I wouldn't recommend it. Patreon is and will always be fickle. It's not reliable. Honestly content wise, you are doing enough I think. I mean I wouldn't be against getting more, but you often write MASSIVE beasts. Of course, not every one is going to like everything you write, or even be interested in all the fandoms you write in... But all around, I find myself liking a lot of what you write when I like the fandoms concerned

I personally love the longer chapters. I don’t mind waiting weeks or months if I get a 10k+ monster in return. I also really love the HP story! If I had to pick though, Thunderous Soul and Supernova are two of my favorites. With Tyrable Idea and Redhead GF Isekai being my favorite secondary stories. I also think Redhead is one of your more popular stories, since Ive seen it discussed in various discord servers.

according to Kairomaru Apple is not only taking 30% of payments made through them they can also withhold the portion you do get for 75 days

Sorry to hear about your month man. Don’t know how 12k could just vanish and sucks to hear about the trouble with Patreon. It could be any number of things such as the additional cost for app users that sent people off, patreon withholding some of the money for another 2 or so months, or just some downsizing or leaving because they aren’t getting the content they want. Everything that I’m about to say now Prime comes from a place of love. Been a fan since the Crossed Lines chapter (still salty there was never a follow up) and been a Captain patreon since February 2 years ago. I enjoy quite literally everything you put out. Even if they don’t have a chance to see the light of day again doesn’t change the fact that I always had a smile on my face reading them and you’re good at what you do and I want to see you succeed. But to do that then I think you’re going to need to make some changes. Changes that other content creators do could work for you if they’re something you can acclimate to. You’ve always been able to get a chapter a month and you’ve been doing good getting one in the middle of the month two for some time now but I think it would be best to try and shoot for 1 a week and to do that the chapter length needs to come down. I know these Goliath chapters are your thing and they are enjoyable. But some of your audience may not be interested in what you put out for that month or the next and it could be months before they get what they want. It’s about trying to keep a more steady rotation to keep interest alive. 2nd point would be what I just said. Keep a proper rotation of all your main fics. You could just try to tackle the list whenever they come to you or create a type of voting system that all your patrons could vote on to see what comes next and put in some type of pity system so that the less popular fics can still get their spotlight. But that also segways into the 3rd and most important thing you would have to tackle. You need to get a proper hold of your muse and be able to write even if your whole heart is not completely into it. Im not a writer but I’ve read a lot of people talk about the struggle. It’s not going to be easy, it’s the hardest thing for any artist to do. But if you really want to try and make a living out of this then it’s a sacrifice that needs to happen. You got start looking at it more like a job and treat as such with deadlines and expectations. I don’t know your process, but I feel that just the kind of obstacle you have to face if you want to make it work. And I wouldn’t try to quit your job, maybe try to find another one that’ll give you more free time but Patreon can be really fickle with their policies, you never know when or if they might just ban your account. Again all that’s said comes from a place of love and someone who wants to see you succeed. Even if nothing changes I’ll still be hear every month. Hope you have a better month in May. Can’t wait for the next one man!

Loki-BeastRuler

Sorry to hear that man. Hopefully this month is better for you
