Midoriya Izuku still remembered the day the world changed.

It had been a day like any other. Wake up. Go to school. Try to avoid attention from any of his classmates. Go home and dissect all the cool Hero fights of the day. It had been a better day than usual, honestly. And then the news had broken. He and his mom had turned on the evening news, only to watch an absolutely bawling newscaster drop the news that had sent the world into a tailspin.

All Might confirmed Killed In Action.

He hadn’t believed it at first. The words were all understandable individually, but they did not make a coherent sentence. It just made no sort of logical sense. It just… couldn’t be real.

But it had been. Everyone had been assuming right up until the funeral that it was just a mistake. The entire nation basically shut down for almost a week as the grief hit.

For the first time in his life, no one cared that he was Quirkless. Everyone had more important things to worry about. It truly felt like the world was ending… and it didn’t take long for things to start going to hell. Within a month, crime was up a full three percent. Villains started getting bold, escalating their crimes. After all…

If even All Might could die, then maybe the Heroes of the world weren’t untouchable after all. Villains grew bolder. Heroes were hospitalized and killed in increasing numbers. Endeavor tried to hold things together, but it became clear to everyone why he had always been the perennial number two. He was no Symbol of Peace, no matter what his rank said. His back wasn’t strong enough to hold up all of Japan.

The idyllic time when everyone was safe, because HE was there, was over. And it didn’t take too long for dominos to start to fall. Heroes who were only in it for the fame and fortune quit. Mediocre Heroes who expected it to be a nine-five like any other job got hit hard. Heroes who just graduated from high school started having a much higher incidence of career-ending injuries.

Heroes were forced to get nastier with villains. Excessive force standards started getting more relaxed. They still tried to keep lethal force to a minimum, but several laws passed empowering them to make that choice if need be. Some Heroes straight up left service to go back to school and retrain themselves.

In the end, it was U.A. that made the first big move. Despite having several students on the cusp of graduation, they announced that they would be transitioning to a university and phasing out the high school division entirely. The third-year students who were getting ready to start their careers suddenly found themselves facing enrollment for greater education as U.A. would no longer be granting Hero licenses to fresh-faced teenagers just out of high school. It was a decision that was met by criticism from the students and even the parents, especially since they’d have to redo many of their lessons. But even transferring wasn’t an option, for Shiketsu followed suit. Soon, every Hero school in the country did the same, following the leader. It made things worse in the short term, once there wasn’t a steady stream of Heroes entering service, but U.A. believed it to be the right choice.

For Izuku, things had gotten strange. Bakugō Katsuki basically… stopped caring about him? He hadn’t said a word to Izuku in over two years, outside of mandatory class assignments if they happened to be grouped together. The ash-blonde’s temper had both cooled off and gotten laser focused. He simply didn’t give enough of a fuck to even bother Izuku anymore, and that made a huge difference. No attention was far better than bullying.

Time passed, with Izuku leaving Aldera with high marks and entering one of the best high schools in the prefecture. Here, he faced some discrimination from his peers once they learned of his dream, but at the very least, they weren’t so nasty about it. No one believed it was possible, but the teachers actually encouraged his note-taking and Quirk analysis, unlike his previous school. Izuku hadn’t even really known that was a real career path, since most kids figured out their Quirks on their own. He at least had something to fall back on if everyone was proved right.

And with Katsuki purposefully choosing a school that even Izuku would have called ‘shitty’ (for some unfathomable reason…), Izuku enjoyed a school experience free of real bullying for the first time in his life. It did wonders for his self-esteem, even if he was still considered a bit of a loser.

The years went by, and Izuku found himself in his first day of his senior year of high school. “You guys only have one year of high school left! It’s time to start thinking seriously about your futures!” His homeroom teacher smiled down at them. The room was silent, “I know many of you wish to be Heroes, but never forget that there’s more to life than just that.” She told them, “We need doctors, policemen, firefighters, lawyers, accountants, even sports stars!” It was something Izuku would never have expected before All Might had died. Before that day, there had never been a single student in any year in any of his classes that hadn’t shouted from the rooftops that they wanted to be Heroes. Here? At least half of his homeroom wasn’t interested at all. “Sure, maybe they’re not as glamorous or well-paying as the big job, but even law enforcement and fighting fires can be safer. You all can do anything you set your minds to!” She passed the career forms to the girl in front of her. “Yōko, be a dear and pass these around. I expect them turned in by Monday at the latest.” She stared them down, “And even if you want to be Heroes, remember that you need options. There’s no sense in not having a backup.”

Izuku got his sheet and filled it out without hesitation. For his school choices, he had U.A. at the top and Shiketsu right after. His third choice was Ketsubutsu. For his actual career options, he put heroism at the top where it belonged. His second choice was Quirk Analysis, and his final choice was Quirk Science. His teacher looked amused as he handed it in, shaking her head with a small smile on her face. Everyone else looked at him like he was crazy. None of them were even close to ready to turn their forms in!

The day passed, and Izuku left the school feeling optimistic. Maybe he didn’t have a Quirk, but he wasn’t the same complete twig he’d been three years prior. His school had a pool they could use, and he definitely made use of it as often as he could get away with. If nothing else, he felt confident that he could save a drowning person!

He went downtown to grab some items for dinner that night and was on his way back when a sound like an explosion rang out. He flinched, “What the?” He ran in that direction, a habit he had never been able to lose even with his mom almost desperately trying to get him to stop. It was just his nature. He saw people with their phones out, but they were hiding behind cars. “What’s going on?”

An adult with a star-shaped growth on his head turned to him, “A villain!” He said, “The guy’s a maniac! Someone bumped into him, and he turned around and damn near punched their head off!”

Izuku grimaced as he stared into the settling dust. “Oh, shit!” He grimaced. The man was blonde like All Might, but his smile did not inspire safety. Oh no, that mad grin inspired only terror. “It’s Muscular.” The man was an infamous S-Rank villain. One who had taken down dozens of promising Heroes in the wake of All Might’s death, killing every single one of them. But he was also smart and sneaky, disappearing every time and leaving nothing but blood in his wake.

Fighting him were two Heroes in similar costumes that looked scuba-themed. “Water Hose.” Izuku muttered, “They both have similar water-based Quirks.” The husband-and-wife duo were hammering Muscular, one of them generating large amounts of water, and the other transforming it into weapons that hit the man again and again.

Izuku’s sharp eyes caught sight of the exposed muscle fibers on the villain seemingly ripping away every time the water hit him. It was one of the few Quirks Izuku personally thought was disgusting. He had muscles like All Might, but they were all exposed.

Despite taking hit after hit, he was laughing like a madman. “That’s the way! Come on! That can’t be all you have, can it?!” His legs suddenly bulged with muscle as he sprang high in the air, rearing his fist back. The Water Hose duo whisked themselves away on a bed of water. Muscular crashed down and created another huge crater in the ground. The dust hadn’t even cleared yet when he burst from the cloud, chasing them.

Unfortunately, it was right in the direction that Izuku and a bunch of other civilians were hiding in. They hurried to get around to the sidewalk side of the car as they continued to hide, with Muscular backfisting a car that the Water Hose chucked at him out of the way. It hit the storefront above Izuku and the star-headed man, and they both screamed and dodged out of the way. The car didn’t stay put, crashing right where they had been hiding. Izuku shook himself, biting back another scream as a wheel flew out of the smoke and bounced right into a street sign, knocking it down and leaving a nastily-sharp bit of metal sticking out.

Izuku focused on the Heroes, who had apparently taken a big hit and were sprawled on the ground as the madly-grinning villain stomped towards them. The wife of the two Heroes was trying to drag her screaming husband away, as his leg was completely shattered.

When asked later, Izuku would say he didn’t think he actually did think about his next move. One moment, he had been kneeling next to a broken road sign, and the next, he was running towards the villain with it in his hands. With a yell of exertion, he caught a completely-surprised Muscular right in the back of his knee with his improvised lance, driving it deep and utterly destroying the man’s leg.

Muscular let out a howl of agony as he collapsed. “You damn brat! That hurt!” He still managed to use his muscle fibers to stand, and his hand was huge enough to grab Izuku by his entire torso. The two Heroes were desperately trying to create something to save him, but it was too late. “I’ll remember it, kid! You’re brave!” He whipped around and threw Izuku like he weighed nothing at all. “Not too bright though!” He cackled maniacally.

Izuku hit a brick wall almost at terminal velocity and felt almost every bone in his body shatter. It hurt. It hurt so much he couldn’t even think. Izuku vomited out a bunch of blood as he peeled off the crater in the wall. Everything went dark as he fell to the ground. He didn’t even get a chance to see the Water Hose driving a water-lance through Muscular’s eye, killing the man instantly.

-]|[-

“WAH!” Izuku sat up, panting like he had run a marathon. “I-I’m alive?” He asked in disbelief. He stared at his shaking hands as he looked around. He was very clearly not home, so it hadn’t been a dream.

The door slammed open, making him flinch, and his mom instantly started to cry as she took in the sight of him awake. “IZUKU!” She wailed, flinging herself at him and wrapping him up in a deathly-tight hug. “You are in SO much trouble, young man!” She bawled, “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been?!”

“W-What happened?” Izuku stammered, his head still feeling foggy.

“What happened is that you hit a brick wall at over a hundred kilometers an hour, young man.” A doctor walked in and delivered the news. “You’ve been in a coma for over a week.”

Izuku flinched. “T-then…”

“I’ll be blunt, young man.” The doctor said, “What happened to you should have killed you. We examined you for a late Quirk activation but found nothing. Despite your surprisingly fast recovery, you’re lucky to be alive.”

“What were you thinking Izuku?!” Inko demanded, wiping away some tears. “Do you have any idea how worried I was when I heard what you did?! What were you thinking?!”

“I… don’t think I was.” Izuku muttered, looking down at his bed linens.

Damn it. Damn it all! Why did she have to have such a good boy for a son?! She loved him like nothing else, but Inko was all but certain now she’d be going to an early grave out of sheer stress. She let out a shuddering breath as she allowed the doctor to start examining Izuku. ‘Maybe… maybe now he’ll finally put that dream to bed.’

“Well, you seem alright, young man.” The doctor said as he finished his checkup, “But I can see your energy levels are still depleted. We’ll keep you here one more night just to be sure. I’ll send up some food so that we can get you used to eating again.”

“Okay.” Izuku said quietly, his mind elsewhere.

His mom sighed as the doctor left. “Don’t ever do that to me again, Izuku. I can’t take it.” She begged her son. He barely reacted, other than giving her a peck on the cheek and a half-hearted reassurance. She sighed as she kissed his forehead back before stepping out of the room. She didn’t want him to see her cry. Again.

Izuku sat there, still stunned. He reviewed the events he remembered, again and again, and knew he should have been worse off than he had been. Just… “How did I survive?” He asked the empty room.

DING!

A strange noise drew his attention, and he stared blankly at what had appeared in front of him.

[Notice!

You have fulfilled the complete conditions of the Secret Quest: “Courage of the Weak.”]

“What?” He croaked in disbelief. What the hell was this screen?

[You now qualify to become a Host.

The Chaos Gacha has been initialized.]

“C-Chaos Gacha?” Izuku repeated like a parrot. What in the hell was happening???

[You have been chosen to be the Host of the Chaos System.]

The… Chaos System? Why the hell had he been chosen for something with ‘Chaos’ in the name?! What even was the Chaos System?

[The Chaos System is intended to create powerful Legends. The Host chooses what path they shall take; hero, villain, and everything in between. The System merely provides the tools.]

Izuku stared as the window winked out, ‘I-Is this a Quirk?’ He thought to himself in disbelief, and the System answered.

[It is nothing so pedestrian, Host.]

The system responded. Izuku stared, biting the side of his index finger. “Okay, it responds to me. Either I’m going crazy or it is real.” He muttered to himself. “What are you? What do you do?”

[The Chaos System is a multiversal method of quantifying actions and rewards.

For completing difficult accomplishments and milestones, the Host receives a Feat. The more difficult and impressive the accomplishment, the higher rank of Feat that will be rewarded.

For every Feat, there is a corresponding reward. The Host will be given a Feat-matching Gacha ticket, which, when torn, will give the Host anything from a new Ability, a new inborn Trait, a new Item, or a new Skill.]

Izuku read the screen in disbelief over a dozen times before it winked out of existence. “Is this a prank?” Izuku asked, “Am I being punked?” Jeez, that was an ancient show.

[No.]

Izuku pinched the bridge of his nose and hissed out a breath. “Prove it.” He grumbled.

[Feat Achieved! The Host assisted in the neutralization of an S-Rank villain despite having no Quirk or even a real plan. Platinum Trait Ticket rewarded!

Feat Achieved! The Host saved the lives of two Heroes destined to die. Gold Ability Ticket rewarded!

Open Inventory to receive Rewards.]

Izuku stared as he read the message again. He teared up. He…had he really saved the lives of the Water Hose Duo? Him? That… fuck, he wanted to cry. It just made him… he didn’t even know the word for how happy he felt. ‘Okay, this is really well planned for a prank. Open Inventory.’ He was enough of a gamer to know that was probably how it worked. And indeed, a new screen opened up, revealing page one of a six-by-eight grid with two shining tickets sitting there. He reached up and tapped the golden one, and despite everything, jumped slightly as the golden ticket dropped into his hand.

He swallowed as he held it in his hand. It certainly felt real enough… He nervously reached up, grasping it with both hands, and then tore it in half. A blinding light erupted from it and then sank into his chest.

[Gold Ability Ticket rolled!

You have rolled: Purification!

Type: Ability

Rarity: Rare (3.4)

Description: Allows you to bathe a target in purifying light, cleansing them of negative effects or foreign substances, the potency of the purification scales with energy spent.]

His eyes bulged as he felt something like a bright light in his chest. This felt less and less like a prank and more like holy shit, he had a multiversal superpower generator. He held his hand out and a bright, warm light shone from his fingers.

Tears instantly came to his eyes. “I…I have a Quirk… no, I have something even better than a Quirk!” He continued to cry for a moment before letting out a shuddering breath. With a beaming grin, he grabbed the platinum ticket and tore it.

[Platinum Trait Ticket rolled!

You have rolled: Werewolf!]

Izuku’s eyes bulged, he had rolled what?!

[Type: Race Change

Rarity: Legendary (6.1)

Description: Hellsing – Gives you all the powers and abilities of a werewolf.

You will gain the enhanced strength, speed, reflexes, and endurance of a werewolf. This scales with your natural abilities, which are currently low, bringing down the your potential.

You will gain the Regeneration of a werewolf.

You will gain the Mist Body of a werewolf.

You will gain the Wolf Transformation of a werewolf.]

“Holy fucking shit!” Izuku croaked.

[You will gain the severe weakness to silver of a Werewolf. Even the touch of silver will burn, and if a piece of silver pierces your heart, you shall die.

Would you like to toggle this Trait on?]

Okay, so it wasn’t infallible. He took a deep breath. “Will this be permanent?” He asked the System. “Actually, please explain all of them.”

[Abilities: Supernatural powers that occupy Ability Slots and use energy to activate. These can range from the weak manipulation of dust to tearing the fabric of spacetime. Most abilities scale with the Host’s basic stats.

By Default, the Host starts with one Ability Slot and earns more as new Abilities unlock.]

“Okay, that seems simple enough…” Izuku mused.

[Traits: Unlike Abilities, traits do not require energy to use. They are essentially passives and do not use Ability Slots. They can also be toggled on and off at the Host’s leisure.

Exception: Traits marked as ‘Race Change’ can only be turned on. The moment it is toggled for the first time, it is permanent. If undesired, Race Traits can be rerolled a single time with the same ticket it was originally rolled from, provided it has not been enabled.]

Izuku grimaced, “Okay, maybe it might not be a good idea to choose that one…” He decided to ask the System, “What’s the range of rolls for that ticket?”

[The Platinum ticket can roll abilities ranging from Silver (2.1) to Legendary (6.3).]

“Crap!” Izuku scratched the back of his head, “That means I got almost as good of a reward as I could have gotten from it. If I choose to reroll it I could end up with something mediocre in comparison.” He shook his head, “Okay, please continue with the explanations.”

[Items: Items are exactly what the Host thinks they are; Physical items such as weapons, armor, consumables, etc. They can also be structures that may be placed in the world and occupy a physical space permanently.]

Izuku nodded. That was a bit more than he thought but was simple enough.

[Skills are completely intangible and act as knowledge inside the Host’s mind. They also provide muscle memory. Downloading the knowledge can cause small headaches. Skills have multiple tiers and increase in rarity as they become more potent. Rolling the same skill twice will fuse and upgrade them into the next tier. Rolling a higher tier of the same skill will refund the ticket used to roll the original.

Basic: Little knowledge and experience in the subject. You are a rookie with a year or less of experience in the skill. To give an example, you are a half-trained boxer.

Intermediate: A decent amount of knowledge and experience in the subject. Roughly equivalent to five years or less of dedicated training. To give an example, you are a skilled boxer who wins amateur competitions.

Adept: A veteran’s knowledge and experience in the subject. Equivalent to ten years of dedicated training. To give an example, you are a very skilled boxer who is entering professional competitions.

Expert: You are the one who everyone turns to for knowledge and experience in the subject. Equivalent to a twenty-five-year long career in the subject. To give an example, you are a world-champion boxer.

Master: You have reached the absolute peak of what can normally be achieved. Normal humans could never reach this height. To give an example, you are regarded as one of the best boxers to ever live.

Grandmaster: You are beyond what a human could realistically achieve. You are a one-in-a-billion talent that works harder than everyone else to perfect that talent. If you were a boxer, you would be regarded as the undisputed best to ever do it or who ever will do it.

Divine: This is beyond the realm of humanity. It is not an exaggeration to call you the god of this discipline.]

“Hooooly shit, and the System can just give you these skills?!” Izuku was in shock. That was… that was insane. “I… I guess that means it’s really true… Quirks are pedestrian in comparison…”

He shook his head and went over the tiers of Feats. It was all pretty much what he had expected, and his Legendary roll was definitely among the best possible rewards he could have gotten from the Platinum ticket. He struggled to even think of a scenario where he could earn even a Legendary ticket, much less a Mythical one. Divine tickets weren’t even really worth thinking about.

Maybe defeating the villain that had killed All Might would be worth a Mythical ticket, or at the very least a Legendary one, but that fight had ended in a mutual kill, so he doubted it was even possible. He’d read enough comics to know that there wasn’t anything in the ‘Seduce Lady Death’ tier around here.

Or at least he damn well hoped not.

He sat back in his bed. This was just… incredible. He wondered if he was dreaming and hallucinating the whole thing. He eyed his Platinum ticket rewards, “If I toggle this now, what does it mean for my base stats and ability to get Feats?”

[The Host is currently weak.]

Izuku’s eyebrow twitched.

[As such, all Feat-worthy accomplishments are naturally inflated highly. Enabling Race Change: Werewolf will make accomplishments much easier, and as such will rank down most possible achievements that physical ability contributes to.

Additionally, raising the Host’s base stats will be much more difficult and require harsher and harsher workouts for any gains.]

Well, that told him everything he needed to know, didn’t it? He would hold off on enabling his race change, if he did so at all. He definitely wanted to do more research before he even thought about enabling it. And moreover, if he wanted any more good tickets, he had to hold off anyway. His attention was drawn away as a nurse came in with some food. That sounded excellent right about now. “Is everything okay, Midoriya-kun?” The cute nurse asked. He must have looked like a mess after his cry earlier.

He nodded, “Y-yeah, I’m fine.” He said and accepted the soup thankfully. He couldn’t wait to get home.

-]|[-

“Hey mom?” Izuku asked once they got home.

“Yes?” She asked him, smiling when she saw just how lively her son looked. She couldn’t remember the last time he looked this excited. Maybe something good had come from the incident that was still giving her nightmares.

“Can you think of anything that would be a…” He paused, thinking his words over, “great accomplishment here in Musutafu?”

Inko blinked in confusion, “…Huh?”

“You know…” Izuku waffled, “Like, something actually newsworthy?”

Her eyes narrowed and she put her hands on her hips, “What in the world are you thinking of, Midoriya Izuku? You JUST got put in the hospital! You need to be thinking of school and your future career!”

Izuku grimaced, “I…” Okay, shit, if he couldn’t trust his mom, who could he trust? “Something… happened after I woke up.”

Inko’s eyes widened, “What happened? Are you okay?!” She asked immediately.

He nodded to reassure her, “I… I thought I had either lost it or started hallucinating but…” He held out his hand as her eyes widened in shock.

And then she started to feel woozy as his hand started to glow. She was the type of person who was particularly susceptible to cortisol. The stress hormone was hitting her like a truck. And then, it wasn’t. It was like all her stress vanished and her body relaxed instantly, “Wha-” She gaped at her son. “B-But… But the doctor said they checked for a Quirk! You had nothing!”

Izuku swallowed, “It’s not a Quirk, mom…” He said, “That’s why I… thought I was losing my mind. Like…” He rubbed his chin, “It was like a freaking video game message screen popped up in front of me.” Inko deadpanned, staring at her son completely agog, “It told me I had completed a ‘Secret Quest’ and that it gave me something called the ‘Chaos Gacha’ as a reward.”

Inko started to spiral again, and Izuku hit her once more with Purification. She took a few deep breaths, “G-Go on.”

Izuku shrugged helplessly, “Basically, if I accomplish ‘Feats,’ I get ‘Gacha Tickets’ that give me random rewards.” He used air-quotes liberally, “I-I got a Gold Ticket for saving the Water Hoses’ lives.” He said quietly, “And when I tore it, it gave me that Ability.”

Inko let out a keening noise. “H-Hit me again, please.” She moaned as the light bathed her once more. “O-Okay, so you’re telling me y-you don’t just have a Quirk equivalent, but something that is outright better than a Quirk because it gives you new powers every time you accomplish something?!”

“…Yeah, that’s about it.” Izuku said, flushing.

“…I think I need to sit down.” Inko said, her stress climbing once again when she realized that now there was no freaking way she was ever going to convince him not to be a Hero now. And then the unnatural relaxation hit her as her wonderful, sweet, headache-inducing son bathed her in his light once more. “Was that the only…” She struggled, “Ability you received from it?”

“I got one other, but I don’t want to enable it yet.” Izuku said, smiling weakly. “It will be more powerful if I get stronger without it before I use it.”

Inko started to massage her temples. “Thank you, sweetie.” She said softly as Izuku once again hit her with Purification. It allowed her to think. “Dagobah.” She said finally, looking at him again. He looked at her with question marks all over his head. “There’s a beach nearby.” She scoffed, “Well, I say beach, but it’s more like a landfill now. Illegal dumping and stupid ocean currents turned a beach that my grandmother loved visiting as a child into a total pigsty. She had lived here but moved over to Mie when she was about ten years old. A few years after I was born, the family decided to move back. Even when I was young, it was already getting bad. I remember grandma being so sad when she took us there for the first time and discovered all the trash. It was the only time I ever saw her cry.”

She didn’t have to say anything else. Izuku’s eyes were already glimmering in determination. He was cleaning that fucking beach, and it was going to be two birds with one stone.

-]|[-

Unfortunately for Izuku, it ended up being a bit more difficult than that. One look at the ‘beach’ when he’d gone there the next day showed him just how much his mom had been underselling the issue. There were literal mountains of trash everywhere, from one end of the coast to the other. He would need a way to actually get the trash away from the area.

And there was no way he could afford to rent any sort of trucks or even a bin. He and his mom didn’t have that kind of money. In the end, after putting their heads together, Izuku ended up going to city hall. It took a while for him to actually be seen by anyone, but he was patient. “Hello young man.” The representative (or at least their secretary) greeted him kindly.

“Hello sir.” He bowed his head respectfully.

“So, what can I do for you?” The man asked.

“Well, I’m hoping to do a community service project for my final year of high school in preparation for entering U.A.” Izuku told him. “But the logistics of it are…”

The man let out a chuckle, “Troublesome, I presume?” He smiled at Izuku, “Well, don’t leave me in suspense. What’s this idea of yours?”

“I want to clean Dagobah Municipal Beach.” Izuku said and watched as the man froze.

“…Come again?” He looked at Izuku owlishly, “Son, that beach is…”

“A complete and total mess, I know. I went there yesterday to check it out before I got started.” Izuku said, “All I need are bins to fill. I’ll do all the labor myself. Cleaning that entire beach would probably cost millions just for the labor. I’m willing to do it for free since it’ll double as my training for U.A. I just need a way to get rid of the trash and can’t afford to rent the trucks or bins myself.”

The man rubbed his chin. Izuku had very much gotten his attention by getting to the root of the issue. Every time the city had put together a proposal to clean that pigsty in the last three decades, the costs had deterred them. Estimates ranged from a hundred million Yen at the low end. If the only cost to the city was renting out a few large roll-off dumpsters… “Alright young man, this is unfortunately beyond my say so. I would need to get together with a couple people to see if this project is even within the budget.” He handed Izuku a sheet of paper and a pen so that the young man could leave his contact information.

Izuku smiled, “Thank you sir. Just as a reminder, my goal is to be finished by the time U.A. hosts its annual entrance exam. I doubt I’d be able to continue past that point, so if it’s something you feel has a decent chance of being approved, the sooner the better. I have just over ten months to do it.”

“Understood.” The man chuckled at Izuku’s attempt at strong-arming via urgency. “I’ll be in touch.” They shook hands and Izuku left, letting out a breath of relief. At the very least, it hadn’t been rejected out of hand.

-]|[-

Izuku waited very impatiently over the next week. While he was waiting, he did research to try to come up with a proper body-building plan. If the city fell through on the bins, he still needed to prepare himself. Going to one of the local gyms helped, as they were able to teach him all he needed to know about proper nutrition, rest periods, and lifting techniques. It would have been disastrous if he threw out his back by being an idiot or sabotaged his own growth by not giving himself time to rest.

The relief he felt when he finally got an email from the city hall saying that the project had been tentatively approved was palpable. Even with the caveat that they would only be providing the bins so long as he proved to not be wasting their time or money didn’t dim his optimism at all.

And that optimism didn’t dim at all even when he finally got started and felt for the first time the sheer magnitude of the task he had set for himself. Thankfully, he had a plan, and that plan was “start with the smaller stuff first, stupid.”

By the end of his first day, he had barely filled a small portion of the five-metric-ton container. But it was progress, and it was progress that he was proud of. He was only a little disappointed to not get a reward for his hard work.

The next day, he took it a bit easier than the first day. He was going to alternate between hard days and more restful days at least until he was more accustomed to doing what he was doing. He raced up and down the steps and through the soft sand, carrying tires and microwaves and rusted out bicycles.

All the while, he was still having to attend school. His peers and teacher professed a little worry over his exhaustion, but he waved them off, just telling them that he was training for U.A. His teacher even called his mom, but Inko assured her that she would keep Izuku from working himself too hard.

The first week ended with Izuku feeling an immense amount of pride. He hadn’t exactly filled the container completely, but he had made an honest dent in the giant heaps of junk. He really could do this!

[Feat Achieved: The Host has proven his determination. The Host may be weak, but he is certainly no quitter! Bronze Random Ticket rewarded.]

Izuku’s eye twitched. The System was going to be a snarky little shit until he ‘got gud,’ wasn’t it. He sighed as he grabbed his bronze ticket from the inventory. “Random, huh…” He said as he tore it down the middle.

[Bronze Random Ticket rolled!

You have rolled: Sexercise!

Description:

Sexual activity now works as a full body workout for you and your partner! It is a very efficient and comprehensive effect. The effects of this workout will only apply after the activity has ended and scales with the effectiveness of said activity.]

Izuku didn’t even get a few words into the description before he was blushing up a storm. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT?!” His screech echoed through the junkyard. An egg could have been fried on his forehead. Sure, he had started noticing girls years ago and had even gained the important ability to talk to them without stammering like an idiot… but him? Sex?! He hadn’t even had his first kiss! “Stupid perverted System…” He grumbled as he headed home for the night.

The next morning, he woke up to an email from the city telling him that the first load had been picked up and that they were happy with his progress so far. The ‘Keep it up!’ brought a smile to his face. And keep it up he did. Day after day, week after week, he kept working at those giant piles.

Even as spring turned to summer and he started roasting in the brutal sun, he just packed more water. Slowly, his body changed. His baby fat melted away, and his muscles started to grow. But it wasn’t just his muscles and body fat that changed, he even started to grow taller. It was something neither he nor his mom could understand. Both sides of his family had always been on the shorter side. In the end, it was Inko who suggested that maybe the System was having an effect. He didn’t exactly have stats like in a video game, but the ‘System’ certainly reminded him of one. In the end, he was forced to just assume that it was ‘optimizing’ him in some way.

The summer scorchers gave way to the falling leaves of autumn, and Izuku started pounding away at the trash harder and harder. The city officials were utterly astonished when he started requesting that the container be emptied twice a week.

Izuku was perfectly happy to be rewarded a silver ticket for this accomplishment. He hadn’t gotten any in months! He was less enthused when the Gacha decided to troll him and give him [Intermediate Kama Sutra,] but moved on with his life.

By the final three months of the cleanup, Izuku had moved on from having the dumpster emptied twice a week to doing it once every two days. Again, he got another ticket, albeit a bronze this time. He was literally begging the Gacha for something that would actually help him become a Hero and got the Ability [Sex Manipulation] for his trouble. He wanted to scream.

…He still had a bit of fun playing with his ‘size’ and shape for a few days. He even gave himself a second, fully-functional penis just for the laughs before getting bored of the new Ability.

After that, he just forgot about the Gacha for a while in his rally to the finish line. Even the dumpster itself became a workout, with Izuku pushing it up and down the coast in order to get to the heaps faster. The sound it made was horrendous, but he didn’t care. Here, things got difficult with only the biggest items remaining, and it was a testament to just how strong he’d become when he successfully managed to drag the cab of an eighteen-wheeler up to ground level and called the city for a tow. The officials were flabbergasted at the find. It may have been a rusted-out hunk of junk, but it was a legitimate twenty-second-century vehicle!

He just kept working until finally, a week before the U.A. entrance exam… he had done it. He picked up and threw out his final piece of junk and looked upon the beach he had cleaned.

He had done this. HIM! Weak little Midoriya Izuku! With nothing but his own blood, sweat, tears, and vomit, he had turned an entire landfill back into the pristine beach it had always been meant to be.

He couldn’t help it. He turned his head towards the sky and ROARED. “AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!” His muscles were bulging, and he didn’t even care about how cold it was. His body was still running hot from all his hard work, and the sun felt nice on his skin anyway.

He felt almost lightheaded as he fell back on the sand and laughed.

[Feat Achieved: The Host has proven his mettle! The Host not only set a goal and accomplished it but refused to use the advantages provided by the System to make it easier. Dagobah Beach would have taken months for a dedicated team to clean up with proper tools. It should have taken years for a single person to clean up. Gold Random Ticket rewarded.]

He grinned widely. “Alright then. Come to papa.” He muttered as he sat up and tore the ticket.

[Gold Random Ticket rolled!

You have rolled: Rellana’s Twin Blades.

Type: Item

Rarity: Rare (3.7)

Description: Elden Ring - A twinned pair of light greatswords wielded by Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight. When wielding these blades, your ability to cast Carian and Glintstone Sorceries as well as Mesmerfire Incantations will sharply rise.]

Izuku blinked, “Holy shit…” He mumbled as he grabbed them out of his inventory. The two blades weren’t identical but were pretty close in size. One was a bit longer and thicker than the other but felt light regardless. The one in his right hand seemed to have a glowing blue gem built into and ahead of the crossguard. The other had an intricate carving running down the full length of the blade.

He blinked, “…I don’t know anything about swords!” He said, almost indignantly. “And what the hell are ‘Carian Sorceries and Mesmer’s Flame Incantations?!’ How am I supposed to use any of those?!” He grumbled, “I guess when it said ‘Chaos Gacha,’ it meant it.”

He carefully and hesitantly started swinging the blades around, trying to get a feel for them. “Hmmm…” He sat down in the sand and put his new swords down before grabbing his phone. He then searched up the owner of the two blades. Maybe Elden Ring was something tha- Oh, holy hell, that was a popular video game centuries ago. He sat down to watch some old videos, enraptured by Rellana, the Twin Moon Knight. Her armor set was amazing!

He didn’t even make it to the end of the video before he was almost squealing girlishly. This was going to be awesome! “But how do I use them?!” He asked as he grabbed the swords again. He closed his eyes, trying to feel them out. He felt rather silly doing it, honestly. But to his surprise, he could feel the power in the blades. Clearly, the System was doing something to make even using the weapon possible. He opened his eyes and raised the blue blade high, the name ‘Carian Sovereignty’ rippling through his mind. He felt a drain on his energy, as though he had been running for several minutes, but the gleaming blue-silver light of that giant greatsword erupted from it. The giant blade took shape, and he slammed it down with a roar. The sand erupted like it had been cut before he whipped around and swung a second time. “Oh, HELL yes!” He squealed giddily.

And hell, with the moon-theme, his other Platinum ticket felt even more appropriate. He had to hope that the Gacha would be kind and would give him some swordsmanship-related skills, otherwise he’d have to basically recreate a fighting style from scratch.

Now, he was good at note-taking, but he wasn’t sure he was up to that. He put away the swords for now and looked at his Werewolf Trait. He had questioned the System again and again, because everything he read about werewolves in fiction told him that they couldn’t control their transformations and that they became ravenous beasts every full moon. He would not be contributing a cursed disease to the world! But the System assured him that he would have control of the transformations, because it was based off a specific character who could also freely control it.

Oh, and he’d develop a taste for bloodier meat.

But he’d only transmit the lycanthropy if he tried to do so. So he didn’t have to worry about giving any enemies superpowers. He’d have to purposefully bite someone with the intention of turning them for it to work. Luckily, as the progenitor of this ‘bloodline’ any werewolves he turned would apparently be like him. So… that was cool. “Toggle on.” He said, before feeling something like a pulse inside his chest. And then the System helpfully revealed a new feature.

[Now Playing: Werewolf Baby – Rob Zombie.]

Izuku let out a growl as his body half transformed, ethereal-looking fur covering half his torso as sharp fangs erupted in an elongating maw. His eyes turned golden.

~ I feel my blood boil. I feel my spine coil. My hair is rippin.’ My mind is trippin.’ ~

Izuku grinned. He felt strong. He felt really strong. He launched himself across the beach, crossing over a hundred meters in a single bound. When he landed, he was completely changed into a wolf that stood taller at the shoulders than even All Might would have. He bounded across the beach, throwing sand everywhere in a wave that followed his path. When it settled, Izuku was panting in exhilaration. He felt… he felt amazing.

~ “Werewolf, baby,” is all she really said! The moon went up and I went out of my head! ~

For the second time that day, he raised his head to the sky and howled.

For the first time in his life, he felt completely and utterly confident as he walked into U.A. University for the first time. The path leading to the H-shaped building was lined by statues of great Heroes that had passed through these doors. He stopped short when he saw one of them in particular, tearing up as he eyed the stone visage of Yagi Toshinori. ‘…I’m going to make you proud, All Might. Keep watching me.’ He thought to himself as he strolled through the doors.

The written exam was a breeze. He felt overprepared for it, honestly. U.A. required high grades to even be afforded the honor of taking the entrance exam. You had to have an eighty-five average minimum. Izuku had kept his average at ninety-four. He was one of the first applicants done and went off to the auditorium where Present Mic would be presenting the Practical Exam.

“For every one of you little listeners, welcome to my show! EVERYBODY SAY ‘HEEEEEEEEYYYYYY!’” The man with blonde, extremely long gelled hair swept back and upwards cupped an ear with his hand.

Silence. Izuku was tempted to yell as well but managed to contain himself. It would have been pretty embarrassing if he let loose and he was the only one.

Mic shrugged, a massive grin still on his face, “What a refined response! That's cool too, my little listeners. Time to show you then! I'll present the specifics of today's practical exams! ARE YOU READY?! YEAAAAAAHHHHH!” Again, he was the only one who shouted. Everyone was just too nervous or fanboying, or just taking the man’s presence in. He was one of the more famous teachers, after all. Present Mic shrugged and got on with it. It wasn’t as if this had never happened before, even if it was annoying. He loved it when some of them showed some spirit, “Well I hope you all came prepared! I also hope you didn’t bother trying to study previous exams! They won’t help you in the slightest!” He laughed, and Izuku noticed several people curdle at his words.

Izuku shook his head, slightly amused. The world didn’t let you study before confrontations.

Present Mic pressed a button on his clicker and the projector turned on, “Each of you will be divided into battle groups and be sent to one of our mock cityscapes! Each exam will last for a total of ONE HOUR!” Mic shouted the time limit out, making sure every student hopeful heard it, “Each cityscape will have various different objectives, scenarios, and problems for all of you to solve. Rescues here, disasters there, etc! It’ll be up to you to determine the optimal strategies to handle every situation! And while you all will be graded individually, teaming up IS allowed. If you think you can trust anyone, that is.” He grinned, “In addition to various tasks, there will also be villain bots all around, valued one to ten. Taking on a high number will certainly rack your points up! Destroying them and disabling them are worth the same number of points, so feel free to do as you like.”

He grinned, “Just make sure you think your actions through carefully. I won’t tell you how, but you can be penalized for making wrong moves. Well, other than attacking fellow applicants. Not only will you be disqualified for that, but one of us teachers will personally escort you off the premises.”

Izuku was practically vibrating in place. He was so ready to begin. And Mic sensed that was the case for a whole lot of them. “The rest of the information you’ll need are in your packets. I suggest you read them. And that’s all from me, little listeners! I’ll leave you with our school motto! As the great hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “True heroism consists of being superior to all the ills of life.” PLUS ULTRA!” His grin widened, “Break a leg, everyone!”

Izuku didn’t bother chatting with anyone on the bus. Not only did he not recognize anyone, but he had a packet of important information to read through. The first five pages of the booklet provided information on all of the enemy bots that would be going around the test cityscape. Each one was worth one, two, three, five, and ten points respectively, and those numbers also corresponded to the level of difficulty of taking one down.

Each bot increased in size and complexity. The one-point “Victory” bot was a slow, ambling robot on two centered wheels that had giant shields protecting their gatling arms. Thankfully for his sanity, the bots were essentially shooting marshmallows and programmed to not aim for any squishy bits like eyes. The two-point “Imperial” bots were slightly larger and had two heads capable of shooting concentrated gusts of air that would hit like hard punches. The three-point “Venator” bots were huge and tank-like and had twin missile pods that would shoot concussive flashbangs around. The five-point “Nebula” upped both the size and difficulty. They had four legs and were much faster than the other bots, sporting big guns, missile pods, and even a bubble shield that it could activate if it sensed danger. And finally, the ten-point “Executor” bots were slow, lumbering behemoths literally the size of buildings and had shield generators that had to be burnt out before someone could even think of damaging them.

In essence, they were meant to go wild in the area and destroy everything in sight. They had so many warnings that Izuku was fully assuming that they weren’t meant to actually be fought and instead were meant to distract applicants and prevent them from getting more points. There would be few of them in any given testing area, and Izuku had a sneaking suspicion that ‘few’ actually meant one.

In any case, there was much more going on here. There would be everything from mannequins to animatronic cats in trees to be saved, along with current alumni who had volunteered to be ‘victims’ for them to rescue. There were various areas for delivering ‘injured’ victims to. He couldn’t wait.

As he got out of the bus and walked closer to the gate, staying ahead of the pack, he finally glanced around at the other applicants to see who he was competing with. He wasn’t sure if he would team up with anyone, but he wasn’t against it. Most of the people around – and he hated to use some of Bakugō’s… vernacular – looked like ‘extras.’ Some of them were clearly way too nervous for their own good. Others were just loudly yapping, but Izuku could sense just how hard their hearts were hammering. It was just bravado.

His analysis of them was interrupted as the whole campus began to shake. “An earthquake?!” He yelled, widening his stance and grabbing someone to prevent them from falling. The sound of crashing and crumpling hit their ears, and they watched as the whole city seemingly collapsed. Buildings started leaning precariously and huge plumes of dust and grit escaped over the huge walls surrounding the city.

Everything went silent and everyone looked around, wondering if that was part of the test or if they really had just been hit by an earthquake. Izuku knew better. ‘There’s no way U.A. would build these test sites so flimsily. That earthquake didn’t last nearly long enough for this kind of damage. It’s definitely part of the test.’ A few minutes passed with nothing happening before Izuku noticed that the huge gates were opening. He had a moment of confusion before he took off in that direction at full speed. Behind him, several of the applicants laughed.

“HA! What an idiot! Does he want to get disqualified?” One of the biggest braggarts yelled.

“Hmph. Less competition for me.” A haughty girl sniffed.

The group continued talking, getting increasingly amused by the loud explosions coming from the city, though a few were getting a bit nervous. One of them asked, “W-wasn’t the test supposed to have started already? When are they going to send us in?” No one had an answer, and the group started to worry. Every minute or so, another one of them took off into the area, while others laughed and adamantly waited for the exam to start.

Fifteen minutes into a sixty-minute exam, Midnight’s sensual voice sounded through the PA system, “My, my, what confidence I see from some of you! Giving your other competitors such wonderful headstarts!” All around the campus in practically every zone, jaws dropped in horror, “There are no such things as countdowns in real life, little ones. So I suggest you get cracking before I do.” For emphasis, the loud noise of a whip breaking the sound barrier rang in their ears.

There was a beat.

All of them started screaming their heads off and charging into their battle areas. They encountered Armageddon. Everywhere they looked were shredded and destroyed robots. Not a single one remained standing. “WE NEED POINTS!” They cried, splitting up into separate directions as best they could.

Izuku couldn’t hold back a laugh when he heard it. He had taken out every single bot he had seen going up main street, carving into them with Rellana’s Twin Blades. The swords easily cut the metal they were made of apart, and the blades didn’t have so much as a single ding on them! Not that he had expected them to get damaged that easily.

But that hadn’t been all. He’d seen cat animatronics in trees, mannequins being ‘held up’ by villain bots aiming their cannons at them. Izuku had easily cut their weapons apart with a Carian Sovereignty before immolating them with the dark red, explosive flames of the second blade. As soon as that was done, he put the swords back in his inventory and grabbed all ten mannequins. He had to hold back tears as he reminded himself of All Might’s famous debut video. He was carrying them all as best he could.

He made his way to the recovery zone and then raced off to get to a new street. His senses blared and he could sense there were real people in some of the buildings. He immediately leapt up three stories and into the fourth floor of a precariously-leaning building. Immediately, his eyes led him to what his senses had told him he’d find: A gorgeous, periwinkle-haired woman in a U.A. uniform who was lying buried beneath a concrete pillar. Not even the dust caking her could hide her beauty. “Woah, your eyes are glowing! That’s so cool!” She said, a grin on her face.

It broke the immersion a little. “Are you stuck?” He asked as he ran over.

“Oh, whoops!” She bopped herself, “M-My leg! It’s broken! P-please help!” She turned suddenly-teary eyes at him. Well, acting certainly wasn’t in her future.

Izuku deadpanned for a moment before grabbing the pillar. “Don’t worry, I’m here now.” He couldn’t help the cheesy line, and she gave him a ‘teary’ smile. He lifted it easily and moved it a meter before putting it down gently. She let out a sigh of ‘relief.’ His eyes saw that the pillar had been lying on a convenient piece of rubble, keeping her legs safe. “I’ve gotcha.” With him in Hero mode, he wasn’t even embarrassed as he lifted her up into a bridal carry.

“Wow you’re muscly!” She excitedly broke character again and this time, he blushed a little as she squeezed his bicep. He walked over to the hole he had jumped through and launched himself towards the recovery area. “WEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!” She squealed excitedly as they flew over a whole building before landing a street over.

Izuku couldn’t help but laugh as he jumped over another building, but this time, when he landed, there was an unpleasant surprise. “Oh, shoot!” He said as his first five-pointer of the day started rapidly spider-walking over to them. It was over five meters tall and covered in weaponry. Even its legs were weapons, ending in sharpish spikes that could impale a car if it needed to. “Sorry, miss, but I don’t want to leave you somewhere and risk it targeting you.” He said as he adjusted her so that he was hugging her with his left arm. His right arm was freed, and she wrapped her legs around his waist to keep from falling. He summoned the blue blade of his twin swords.

Her eyes widened, “Woah, is that your Quirk? Do you have an inventory type thing?” She asked excitedly. And then Izuku’s sword started to glow silvery-blue and grew in size above him. He brought it down on the bot and watched as a light-orange bubble appeared around it. The shield flashed dangerously with the strength of his slash, but he was unable to pop it and allowed his Carian Sovereignty to vanish without doing the second slash. It glowed again and he launched three small waves of moonlight energy at the shield, with the third shattering it and causing electricity to course through the machine from the backlash. “Is THAT your Quirk?!” She asked in shock. But Izuku didn’t get a chance to respond as the Nebula started to fire slow-moving ‘rockets’ at them. He leapt back to avoid them and shielded their eyes as the flashbangs started going off. “Maybe you should-” She tried to say, when a sound hit her ears and made every prey-instinct in her body go off all at once. “EEP!” Izuku raised his head and half of his face was covered in fur, with dagger-sharp teeth lining his maw.

The growl he let off sent shivers down her spine. He launched them forward so quickly that she almost couldn’t keep up. The Nebula clearly couldn’t, and within a second, Izuku had carved all four of its legs off and then cut it in half with another swipe from his sword.

She gaped, “No, seriously! What is your Quirk?! That was awesome!” Izuku chuckled as he reverted back to his fully human form. He tried to put her back in a bridal carry, but she squeezed her legs around him. “What if you need to fight again?” She said innocently. Apparently she could act just fine.

He could have pulled her off… but hell if he wanted to. He leapt and started heading back to the recovery area. “It’s a long story.”

She grinned, “I want to hear all about it! I’m Nejire, by the way! Hadō Nejire!”

“Nice to meet you, Hadō-san.” Izuku smiled at her.

“Nooo! That’s too formal! Call me Nejire-chan!” Nejire gave him the dreaded ‘teary-eyed’ look.

Izuku blushed, “O-Okay, Nejire-chan…” He said, though he was a little hesitant. “I’m Midoriya Izuku.” He said as he landed next to the recovery area. He put her down on a chair, “Sorry, back to work!” He leapt away.

She pouted, before lifting into the air with her Quirk and flying after him. She wanted to watch. She wanted to see everything. She was just way too curious about him now. Him and his awesome Quirk!

…

Nejire wasn’t the only one. “What the hell was that?” The Hero Vlad King asked.

It was a question no one had an answer to. “He can summon those swords. Has super strength and speed. Can use those weird silver-blue attacks, and apparently physically transform as well?” The Heroine Midnight followed his train of thought. “Seriously, I’ve heard of Dual-Quirks but what the hell?! I’ve never heard of a triple!”

“Let’s see.” The Principal Nezu pulled up Izuku’s file. “His Quirk is…” He blinked, “…Not applicable?”

“What?” The Heroine Thirteen gasped, “Doesn’t that mean he’s Quirkless?”

“Not necessarily.” The underground Hero Eraserhead muttered. “He could be a late bloomer who never updated his Quirk registration.”

Nezu was silent. ‘…It cannot be.’ The mammal thought to himself. ‘That monster couldn’t have survived when we lost you, Toshinori. I refuse to believe it…’ He would need to have a talk with this Midoriya Izuku.

…

Nejire was completely astonished as she followed Izuku around from high in the air. “This has to break a whole bunch of records, right?” She mumbled to herself. She watched as he continued to fight and rescue others. He went into buildings empty handed and walked out with her classmates and underclassmen piled up on his shoulders, just like that famous video that made her want to be a Hero in the first place. He ran into large groups of bots and walked out with flaming husks in his wake. He even helped his competitors, saving them whenever he saw that they were in trouble.

By her count alone, he was well over three- hundred points, and she had no idea how many he had earned before rescuing her. She smiled, “Let’s see how you handle the big guy.” She floated in the air with her hands under her chin. It was just about that time.

Down below, Izuku could sense that the villain bots were running low. He couldn’t smell or hear any blood inside any of the collapsed structures. The one thing confusing him was that he had yet to see a single ten-pointer.

And like he had summoned it with his thoughts, it appeared. One of the buildings literally came apart, revealing the goliath inside. It was even bigger than Izuku had expected! Three-limbed and over fifty meters tall, it towered over almost everything in the city. It was absolutely covered in weapons as well, of all types. It raised one gargantuan leg and stepped from the rubble. Its footstep echoed through the entire city and crumpled pavement while crushing a car.

Its sensor suite had to be immaculate to keep the actual applicants safe.

Its massive ‘head’ swiveled as lasers started to target-find. One young lady – the same haughty one who had mocked Izuku before – let out a scream and ran in the other direction. The laser targeted her back and one of the cannons fired a paintball at her. She somehow managed to dodge it, but tripped in doing so, scrambling around and trying to crabwalk away. The gun aimed again, and a paintball splattered red where she had just been.

“I’ve gotcha!” Izuku said with her in his arms, racing down the street. She let out a gasp, closing her eyes just to keep from getting motion sickness. Izuku had her far away from the behemoth in seconds and put her down.

“Th-thank you!” She said tearfully, having discovered very painfully (for her ego) that she was not, in fact, Her.

“You got it!” Izuku raced back towards the ten-pointer, grabbing everyone he saw who was too slow and getting them to relative safety. As he did so, the bot continued to ponderously stomp through the city, knocking down buildings, crushing infrastructure, and even releasing missiles with huge, explosive payloads into areas free of any people just for the sheer intimidation.

“This thing is a menace.” Izuku growled as he glared at the bot. “Let’s see how you like this!” He leapt at it and grew a giant Carian Sovereignty over his head. He brought it down on the bot’s head and watched as a blue flash engulfed it. His eyes widened as his attack dispersed, having done nothing to the robot’s shields. “Tch!” He turned into mist to avoid a barrage of paintballs, landing in the streets.

Up above, Nejire gasped, “So he’s also a ghost?! What the heck?!”

Down below, he summoned a Carian Phalanx above his head. Nine large, ghostly swords appeared above his head and fired up at the behemoth. The swords all impacted and shattered against the Executor’s shields. Izuku picked up a whole car and chucked it at the enemy next, watching as it too crashed uselessly against its shields. “Damn, what the hell are those shields rated for? Detroit Smashes?!”

Nejire heard him and giggled. “Not quite!” She sang to herself, idly kicking her feet up and down behind her. Power Loader had done his best, but even the Executor’s three separate shield generators couldn’t output that much energy.

Izuku grumbled as he again turned into mist, moving around the battlefield as gatling fire of paintballs rained down, painting the pavement red. And as he passed through a car, he had an idea. Grinning, he turned into his full wolf form, standing almost as tall as the five-point Nebula at four meters.

Nejire gasped. “FLUFFY! MUST PET!”

Izuku raced forward, moving so fast that he seemed like a silver blur to the watching Nejire. And then he phased into the boundary of the shield, since it wasn’t layered directly on top of the armor. With a vicious grin on his maw, Izuku howled and bounded up the leg, his claws digging in and creating footholds. As soon as he hit a nice joint, he went to town. Metal shrieked as he bit down again and again with his giant maw. His teeth were stronger than plate armor as he sheared chunk after chunk.

The Executor bot started wobbling precariously, and then its third leg detached with a huge groan of metal, crashing to the ground below. Izuku misted again and turned back into his hybrid form, holding the two swords. Hellfire whirled inside the barrier as he slashed and immolated everything he could get his hands on, digging his way through its shell and into its internals. With a tortured groan, the whole robot erupted, fire bursting from its metallic shell. He phased out of its innards as the shield flickered and died, its massive body collapsing towards him.

He slid to a stop in a complete superhero pose, his blades burning with dark flame and glinting with moonlight at his sides. And then the Executor’s head crashed right behind him, and there was only a moment of silence as everyone gaped at him, before a flabbergasted Present Mic announced that, “IT’S ALL OVER!”

“THAT WAS SO COOOOOL!” Nejire raced towards him and got in his face. He let out a yelp. “No one has taken down that robot since Power Loader designed it! No one has even managed to scratch the paint!”

Izuku blinked. “Really?”

[Feat Achieved: The Host has destroyed a target designed to be nearly impossible to take down unless they were in Endeavor’s tier of strength! Gold Ability Ticket rewarded.]

Apparently so. Was that the only one he had earned? He didn’t have a chance to really focus on it, because Nejire was still talking to him in super excitement. “Oooh! I’m sure you’ve passed! That was so cool! And your Quirk is so awesome! You were all ‘I Will destroy you’- whish whoosh-” She mimed swiping some swords, “And then you got really growly and turned into a cool wolf and you can also phase through things whatevenisyourquirk?!” She started speaking faster and faster and taking fewer breaths until her face was even starting to turn red.

‘…Huh, so that’s what that feels like.’ Izuku thought to himself in amusement as she took in a huge gasp of air and started to pant. She was adorable. He opened his mouth to respond when freaking Recovery Girl whacked Nejire on the thigh.

“Owie!” She pouted at the diminutive old woman, “RG!” She whined, “That hurt!”

“Breathe, you silly girl.” Recovery Girl chuckled before turning to Izuku, “The Principal would like to see you in his office, young man.” She handed a surprised Izuku a small map. “I wouldn’t keep him waiting.”

“No way! I have so many questions!” Nejire pouted, stomping her feet and puffing up her cheeks.

“So get his number.” Recovery Girl snarked as Izuku’s jaw dropped, “And go take a shower, Hadō! You’re covered in grime!”

“!” That wasn’t a word that came out of her mouth. She got in his personal space again. “Yes, yes! Give me your number, Zuzu! I want to know all about your Quirk! We can go and get lunch! My treat!” Izuku blushed bright red.

And that’s it for chapter one! As a reminder, this and chapter two will be going up concurrently.

Now, to address the elephant in the room: I’m not going to sit here and insult you guys’ intelligence and pretend that 100% of this story’s rolls are random. Frankly, I think any story that says so is just flat out lying. Full chaos sounds fun until you realize you need an actual story too. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be ANY random rolls – in fact, there were a couple in this chapter already. Purification was one, and there are plenty more coming. But yes, the author is putting his elbow on the scale occasionally.

For one, I’m rejecting all ‘Dragon’ related abilities to avoid stepping on Lucky Ninth’s toes too much. Won’t say no to elemental stuff or even the Gene Editing thing if I happen to roll it (And I DO mean roll it), but Dragonslayer abilities and dragon transformations are a no-no.

For another, I’ve had a couple truly ludicrous random rolls that straight up do not fit into this story. I would invite you guys to tell me what Midoriya Izuku of all characters would do with the ability: “Tinker- Taimanin.” You know. From the rape and brainwashing hentai.

I’ve also straight up gotten “Demigod” a few times as well as various ‘necromancer’ ones, which… yeah.

Finally, while there ARE quite a lot of entries… it really isn’t as many as you would think. There are TONS of awesome stuff from awesome series that aren’t in the ‘canon’ Gacha (yet) and some of them I’d really love to play with.

Anyway, hope you guys liked this because my muse fucking loves it! I’m 9k deep into chapter 5, just like Izuku is deep into [redacted.]

God *dayum* that last bit was cool as fuck! Those are some great rolls too, and there's no harm in fudging a few that don't fit the narrative, I've done the same with some of my fic prototypes

Raizor

Not really bad to tilt the scales sometimes in my opinion. It does take a bit out of the whole purpose of Chaos Gacha, but I can understand where you’re coming from. Some of that stuff is just useless or WAAAY to overpowered.

Orchamus

Lucky Ninth’s toes too much...another chaos Gacha story? Name of story plz? Also excellent start, sad no Yagi but it does make for a difficulty increase

Hollow House 36

Ok. This is cool. Always enjoy a good chaos gacha story. Well worth the subscription 😉

Thanks!! Marked for later now back to my Nascent Kaleidoscope reread!!

Yup, found it👍🏼

Alastor God of Vengeance

Not bad at all, I generally avoid UA University fics as the high school angle and coming of age is the whole point of the story but this is pretty good, plus the chaos gacha fics are always fun.

OK chapter 1 was greatness. I can honestly say it was amazing. I loved reading it. I loved the fact that you wrote it. It made everything so much more worth it.

Cha0sniper

I have to know, how many of the "sex god" abilities were random? Was it just the first one and then you rolled with it for lulz, or were they all deliberate? XD

Rodrigus

Thanks for the chapter! In regards to the stuff not in the gacha, you can make and add custom entries in the website using the "custom lists" option in the "Entries" page.

Primordial Vortex

I'm aware, but they don't ADD. If you turn on custom lists, it ONLY shows the custom lists.

Primordial Vortex

So far, none. But later I was just regular rolling and got "Adept Kama Sutra" LOL

Shivrah

Tinker Taimanin COULD be useful for genetic engineering reasons that mesh really well with quirks. Side effects include hentai grade bodies and instant loss vs hentai situations in females but inducing quirks would be an amazing achievement.

Rodrigus

I think the Gacha thread in the Questionable Questing forum has a .txt with all the current entries that you can add as a custom list together with your own entries for that, but might be a little troublesome to find.

HP-DG-AP-PN-RG-NR

I already love the way this has started. This is going to be an awesome story!

Is there a doc or pdf link because I don’t have a lot of reeding time because of work so I like to use speechify if not I’ll find time to read it on weekend just like listening to you stuff at work

Xander1994

Another master piece Vortex! And especially loved the comedy in this one, especially izuku's reaction to some of his pulls. Excellent work man and I especially love the hellsing abridged reference, Werewolf Baby is such a great song!👏👏👏👏👏👏👌🤣🤣🤣

Okay, so this started with "All Might died," which SUCKS for everyone with a moral compass (and I pray the son of a bitch who gutted Toshinori died before he did, but for real). But then Muscular died, which is great for everyone. And then Izuku gained...I don't know what the hell it is, and neither does he, but its got good gains if he's been a good boy and does heroic deeds. That is always a good thing (plus Bakugo is too depressed from All Might dying to be a dick to "Deku" anymore), and getting awesome abilities that can match or surpass Quirks is better. Izuku was smart - very smart - to look into the whole werewolf thing, since he could end up like the ones from either Underworld, or from Dog Soldiers, and those are contagious as hell. Thankfully its "The Captain's" transformation, which is controlled, and Izuku has to choose if anyone else gets this so it doesn't pass around like a cold sore.

I was rolling when I saw his second roll. And paired with his third and fourth... but he didn't take advantage of what would amount to a dream come true for some people (Mineta must never know that his "god" likely sits in the same classroom as him). Its kinda fun seeing Izuku treat things as "better with more challenge", since the harder it is for him to pull it off, the higher reward he gets. Not sure how he could have done it without werewolf, but I imagine he'd have earned a similar rank if he hadn't had or used it and still got a similar end result/score. Looking forward to how the rest of this turns out, starting with chapter 2!

I love the idea!! I’ve really enjoyed what I’ve read of this chapter so far; fanfics involving Izuku with "Gamer" abilities—or anything similar—are absolutely awesome, provided they’re well-written. Here’s a suggestion—take it however you like: what if one of the rolls had a hidden passive effect that altered the people or environment around him, causing them to gain some sort of additional power? That way, you could boost both allies and enemies and balance out the power scale.

AC DC 1C 2C

Been on an MHA 10-B Binge?

strawhatfan78

Yep both the prototype and the completed omnitrix are rolls in the Chaos gacha

Serpens Kaos

This is the 2nd story in a row you've written with Helsing Werewolves.... which makes sense they are pretty much the strongest, most 'stable' varient I'm aware of. At least it's not Twilight Werewolf, Izuku might have insta-rerolled if he'd gotten that one.

Primordial Vortex

Lmfao he definitely would have. And yeah, Hellsing werewolves are just the best. Or rather, the one werewolf we know of. I don't count schrodinger lol

Primordial Vortex

So like I said, a lot of the rolls are random. If something like that pops up, I'd add it. But it's not one I'd go out of my way to use.

Primordial Vortex

His reaction to it was gold lmao Yup, his ticket wouldn't have been nearly as good if he used it instantly. And he did it in canon while screwing himself over with 'extra' workouts, so I dobt see why a smarter izuku couldn't do it here.

Serpens Kaos

To be fair, I don't know what to count Schrodinger as either, werewolf definetly wouldn't be it. Damn it why did he have to basicaly be a Gasper-type twink, if he'd been a girl it would be easy "Neko/Catgirl" But yeah Izuku will eventually be a 'Captain' class werewolf, especially if he learns to do the mist form shift automatically like Crocodile turns to sand in OP as a near perfect defence.

GoBigBlue357

yeah my buddy and i have been writing a chaos gacha fic and most of the rolls are legit, but there’s some fudged ones in there. his abilities are mostly light based

Michael Friede

Nejire!!! Also Hellsing werewolf and Carian sorcery. Also holy shit I love this AU, its the first time ive seen a straight up “All Might is KIA, the villains are playing for keeps now” AU

Tyler

Once again i risk my job to read this at work, and once again its absolutely peak

FormVIEnthusiast

Ooh, another System fic, I'm suuuure Sung Jinwoo's power set isn't waiting in the wheel. No shade, but SL has been bouncing around for a while, yeah? It's a fun series, good for high power, high awkwardness characters. Can't wait to see how the Rat reacts!
