[Episode Gacrux] Progress Update XVII (Patreon)

Greetings,

this week didn't went really brilliantly to be honest. After the first animation rendered smoothly without any problems I was quite optimistic for the upcoming animations. However, not a single attempt for another animation went completely through. I had to constantly restart animations, light and render settings got messed up which caused flickering and many more issues. So I got fed up with that and bough components for a complete new workstation including a RTX 4090.

I bought a complete new set of hardware and build a second workstation with enough space for a second RTX 4090, if I want to buy another. The build is up and running and I'm slowly installing everything at the moment. My hard drives stay in the old machine so I install everything new. While mostly everything runs very smooth, the AIO CPU cooler I bought gives me some headache. The radiator is buzzing at a low frequency on load (not water bubbles or something, it's mounted correctly). I will get in contact with the support for this piece of hardware tomorrow.

My current plan is to keep using the old system until the new workstation is set up with everything. From then on I will mostly use the new workstation obviously but will try to make use of the old one as well. I'll try to figure a way out to work parallel with both workstation.

However, it's the first time I'm using aio components so I was very carefully in the assemble and took my time this weekend and didn't rush anything.

I hope this will speed things up a bit once everything is running :)
