A short showcase of the backgrounds I use in my YouTube videos.

The vending machine backdrop you guys are probably familiar with was done by @Frinteer on Twitter. The talk show background I used to use was made by ManyKudos. The brightly colored street image with all the text was an image I found online and edited (read: destroyed) by myself. The anime wallpaper background is one of a couple different ones I've used over the years and it's just an image/looping gif I found online.

The original sketch you see in the first image was drawn by me as a concept to send to Frinteer on twitter after I found some of their looping gif images and I really loved their art. The background took something like 6 months to complete between me needed surgery for a blown appendix and delays with the artist moving. The piece of paper you see with my sketch is on an electrostatic mat because I made that sketch while working my day job as a computer technician.

We had a TON of back and forth figuring out the best way to showcase all the vending machines and give them some personality without it turning into 10s of hours of work for something that's mostly going to be covered up during the videos. Eventually we settled on a 4K looping video that has 2 or 4 unique cycles for each machine that takes about 3-5 minutes before it loops.

Prior to this I would just use anime wallpapers and some copyright free looping videos just to keep the background interesting until I was able to commission something more on-brand.
