Yuzaki Tsukasa

Tanjiro learned Water Breathing because Giyu Tomioka (the Water Hashira) recommended him to train under the former Water Hashira, Sakonji Urokodaki—who actually trained Giyu too. Fun Fact: besides Sakonji Urokodaki, there are other trainers who teach Water Breathing. Water Breathing is easy for beginners, so more swordsmen use it than any other Breathing Style. You could say it's the most common technique. (But just because it's widely used doesn't mean everyone has actually mastered it). The reason Tanjiro’s sword wears down so fast is that Water Breathing isn't really compatible with his body. He’s actually much better suited for Sun Breathing (Hinokami Kagura). Btw, the Hashira rank is way above Kinoe.

this season has some of the biggest plot twists

Sidharth (시드하르트)

As for what Tanjiro said, yes, it is believed that the men in Uzui’s family are forced to marry three women carefully chosen by the elders as soon as the boys turn fifteen years old. It is not known whether the same fate awaited Tengen or if he chose the girls himself, but Tengen loves his wives and cares about their well-being more than anything in the world. After Tengen left his clan and all four went to see Kagaya Ubuyashiki in order to fight as a part of the Demon Slayer Corps, he taught Makio, Suma, and Hinatsuru his life ideology—they come first, then other people, and only then Tengen himself. Makio questioned this in private, as it went against what the women had been taught as kunoichi (female ninjas). Tengen himself admits that it's an odd thing to say in their line of work, but he insists that his wives are the most precious people to him, and they always must come back home to him no matter what happens. Hinatsuru, the first girl he saved, is the oldest among the wives. Makio, the girl who has black and yellow hair, is his middle wife. And Suma, the one who has the same feature as Inosuke, is the youngest. Tengen has a nickname for Hinatsuru; he calls her "Hina.'' She comes from a well-known family, whose rank was second only to the Uzui's own. According to the second fanbook, Makio is actually a distant cousin of Tengen's, and Suma's younger sister was actually Tengen's original promised wife; however, Suma wanted to be Tengen's wife instead ("But they say Suma stepped forward herself"—Tanjiro).
