First time I watched it I had questions: What kind of goal could be important enough to justify so many deaths? What do we really achieve by killing so many people? How can someone kill so easily? What kind of upbringing or environment would make a person see killing as acceptable?

German names are mostly used, so Stohess is actually SHtohess, but honestly we don't care, not everyone knows German. Jaeger (Jäger) means Hunter, which fits Eren. Armin means soldier or protector, which is ironic given his thoughtful, strategic nature
