just to clarify the confusion with the dates hahaha, this was in 2015, they were actually leading to their 10th anniversary, TOP debuted at 19y/o and for their 10th anniversary they did a mini show called "Run, Bigbang scout!" which it wpuld be interesting for you to watch later on <:

also, an interesting fact about their begining that isn't mentioned here or in the documental is that GD and TOP were friends since they were little, both of them started to listen to rap and since that genre wasn't very popular in korea those two got along pretty well because of that, after that GD moved out and then met Taeyang in school, in that time TOP was a very known underground rapper and when YG was doing auditions GD met him to tell him he should go. TOP went to YG, they liked him but he was pretty chubby and that was the reason of his rejection but he was very determined so he lost over 20 kilos in 2 months and went back to YG to stay

YG wasn't a big agency back then. Bigbang was the first idol group to come out of YG, and SM and JYP dominated the K-pop market then. Bigbang couldn't eat much because YG wasn't rich. After Bigbang succeeded with "Lies", YG was included in the big 3 agencies at once. Even YG said "YG didn't make Bigbang, but Bigbang made YG". And Bigbang debuted in 2006, and when they were promoting that MADE album, it was 2015:)

Yes, you should also watch a BIGBANG guide! They debuted when they were teenagers (international age) in August 2006 -- TOP was 19 (turning 20 in November), Taeyang and GD just turned 19, Daesung just turned 18, SR was 16.
