Dayeong, the brothers wife, is also from a noble family. That's why the father asked her to contact her family and have them plant someone in the palace.

Episode 6 Author Commentary In the modern reinterpretation of Naejinyeon(inner court banquet), the four characters dance a waltz together. It is a scene that effectively highlights the setting of a constitutional monarchy, and I would be delighted if it also conveyed the emotional turmoil and shifting feelings of the four characters.

Let me add a bit of story from the script book epilogue and the web novel—details that did not make it into the drama. On the morning of the inner court banquet, Wan retrieves the four marriage rings left behind by Queen Uihyeon from the royal vault. These rings were the only personal keepsake Queen Uihyeon left for Wan before she passed away. As the second son of the royal family, Wan had grown up in a world where almost nothing could ever go the way he wanted. And so, within those rings was Queen Uihyeon’s wish for him: If nothing else, at least love should be with the woman you choose for yourself. That’s likely because there were almost no successful examples of arranged marriages around Wan, and the meaning behind the rings his mother left him before passing away was to marry the person he truly loves. At one point, the rings nearly passed into the hands of Wan’s older brother as he prepared to marry a Crown Princess, surviving several moments where they almost slipped away from Wan. But in the end, Wan managed to keep them—going so far as to fiercely rebel against his father for the first time in his life. That is why these rings are more than simple jewelry. They symbolize the one goal Wan had protected his entire life: To marry the person he truly loves. After hesitating between a traditional white jade ring, a gold ring, a diamond ring, and a pearl ring, Wan ultimately chooses the diamond ring. The reason is simple. “The fearless way it sparkles reminds me of Heeju.”
