i just watched the recent ep of ZIP Daesung with Se7en and 2ne1 members, they said Taeyang appears like a perfect model citizen on TV but in reality he's the most savage and harsh with his words that most trainees cried cause of him lol.

Yeah you can't help but feel very sorry for what trainees have to go through.. It's hard, but then again, like you said it worked out fine in the end. He's really grown into a true artist! Enjoyed this reaction! I remember you said you wanted to check out other stuff in between this doc so I would really like to recommend their Weekly Idol ep for the next reaction! It's really funny and light-hearted. Perfect for a little break from this doc I feel (Edit: Nevermind, I forgot that there are spoilers in that ep for songs you haven’t heard yet)

For me, Taeyang improved the most since debut. He was also the first member to debut as a solo artist. Back then, a lot of people knew Taeyang before they even knew BigBang. Also, I can't get over how small Taeyang and Daesung looked back then, and Taeyang is a dad now lol. If you want to take a break, I'd recommend checking out Epik High on Zip Daesung and Taeyang on Epikase (Epik High's YouTube channel). You wont need to worry about any song spoilers. The two episodes are connected, the Zip Daesung episode was before Coachella, and Taeyang's episode was after Coachella during his Quintessence promotions. They share a lot of stories about BigBang and the OG YG family. Here are the links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iE_XGgIdw8&t=1238s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVnZCT98WBk&t=1922s And Ma Girl isn't a cover. Both Ma Girl and GD's This Love were from the group's first album. I think, just like they played GD's This Love in the previous episode, they included Taeyang's Ma Girl here to promote the song (they also showed him recording the song around 10:17).

Mr. Yang said really harsh things to the members. What he said to Taeyang in front of the other members was too much, and GD apparently heard from him, "You are the axis of evil in YG." I'm genuinely curious about what kind of situation would lead to saying something like that to GD, especially when Taeyang said that GD "has no evil in his heart at all, and is the kindest person he has ever met." While I acknowledge that YG was good at discovering and training talented rookies, I think I would have been deeply hurt if I had heard such words in front of other members. GD's This Love was a track from BIGBANG's first album, and it was Taeyang who released the first solo album among the members back in 2008. GD had originally prepared Lies as a solo song, but it ended up being used as a BIGBANG group track. Although he desperately wanted to release a solo album, he wasn't able to do so until 2009.

Just as a reference, BIGBANG debuted in 2006!

As someone else already said, "Ma Girl" is an original, and was released in 2006. As everyone else also knows, YB (Taeyang) & GD were supposed to debut as a rap duo. YB hadn't sung at that point. When Tabi (T.O.P.) as an underground rapper went to audition, he had prepared a rap. Upon seeing him (and his facecard.... ), the scouts wanted him to sing instead. When YB saw Tabi struggling, he stepped in, and sang along with him.... which is how he became BigBang's main vocalist.
