Don’t worry about getting a little lost here and there! I was the same way on my first watch, so I’m actually enjoying your reactions 😂 And like you said, you’ll eventually understand as you keep watching.

Arsene Lupin

You're doing well with the characters & plot

Just too damn good omg... the lead actress (Kim Taeri) is the epitome of class in this, it's actually beyond belief? She just legitimately seems like she's truly from that era, like a true noblewoman. She was super viral in Korea for emulating her role in every phrase, every mannerism! Her outfits were really talked about too, how she just suits hanbok so so SO well 💛

레쓰비 난!

The first assassination was indeed shot by Eugene....From the second shot onward, those are the gunshots Aesin fired at the Japanese assassins.

I think it’ll all start to come together as you keep watching. And you’re already so good at picking up on little details like that, so don’t worry:) I’m getting more and more excited for this journey. Can’t wait for Episode 3!! I wish next week would come a little faster hehe🤭

The way people call her “Aegi-ssi” is a little detail. It’s roughly like “young miss,” but it’s a traditional honorific with a warm, affectionate nuance, and I think it says a lot about how the people around her see and treat her. Fun fact: Eugene Choi was inspired by a real historical figure, Hwang Ki-hwan. And more characters than you might expect—from the leads to minor characters—are connected to real historical figures! I also love how deeply this drama is rooted in real history. The story is woven into the actual events and rapid changes happening in Korea at the time. Even in this episode, we saw new schools, people learning English, the Elkhorn War, different countries pursuing their own interests in Joseon, and modern technologies like electricity being introduced. You really get a sense of what it was like to live through a time when the old world and the modern world were colliding with the new.
