I don't know If I'd say Straizo was planning this from the beginning. I always thought it was more that he was unhappy with his lot as he aged despite his hamon keeping him a little younger and he grew envious of Dio and his power looking back. But IDK could be either I guess.

Joseph is definitely one of my favorites ( top 9 JoJo's for sure) and already from the first episode there's so much to take in between the time jump, the differences between him and his grandfather, emerging technology or customs different from those of the 1800s in England (Lot to love)

One of my favourite things in this episode when dubbed is Joseph assuming Speedwagon and Jonathan were definitely a thing as opposed to trying to set Erina and Speedwagon up.
