Heck yeah, part 4 finally! Imo this part has the best side characters & character designs, and honestly one of the best JoJos (I like Josuke better than Jotaro, but thats probably an unpopular opinion) If you're wondering how "JoJo" comes out of Josuke, the kanji for "suke" can also be read as "jo" so his first name can be read as "JoJo". Suzi Q said that she had faith in joseph and that he had never let her down, yet she didn't know Josuke was already born by then 😬 . On a side note, Araki had originally intended for JoJo to only have 3 parts, so hopefully Joseph cheating was just a cheap way to get a new JoJo, it really seems out of character for him and is very disappointing lol. And as others have mentioned, it would be good to watch the uncensored version with the original names.

Part 4 and beyond is where you get a lot of music references for stands and characters. instead of like tarot cards for stands, josukes stand crazy diamond is named after the Pink Floyd song of the same name and josukes design is based off of the singer Prince the way he dresses. its basically arakis playlist going forward lol

From here on and out Araki gets more freedom to express himself. One quirk with this part is that he really plays around with proportions a lot. Koichi as an example isn't even that short, he's just portrayed much shorter.

Angelo is the most despicable character on jojo's for me I genuinely don't know how shonen jump allowed Araki to write those things with that amount of detail. Man has privileges i guess. Josuke's stand is called Crazy Diamond, in reference to shine on you crazy diamond from Pink Floyd. The censorship messed the name up. Now that we have no more Tarot cards or Egyptian gods. All stands will be musical references. And yeah Joseph allegations caught everyone off guard 😭. And with a 21 girl too. L move. But if i remember right. Araki himself said he was not a fan of it. He did it because it was the best way to create a new JoJo in the time span he wanted the story to be set in yk.

I would NOT watch the ops, you will def get spoiled! Also, I’m glad you’re liking it, I like to say that Araki really perfects his storytelling in this part. Not like the other ones weren’t good, but he definitely finds his quality here. Part one is the foundation, part two introduces character development (let’s be honest about Jonathan, he was good from the start) part three had to deal with a power dynamic change (stands) and he took to longer storytelling, but here he has a blank canvas to attempt a masterpiece, I think he succeeded.

The part 4 colour palette is probably my favourite among the anime so far. I particularly love what they did with jotaro and star platinum with the baby blues and pinks. Feels like an metaphor of jotaro finding comfortability, and ironically youthfulness after all the turmoil of part 3

Part 4 is my least favorite part overall, but it definitely has its moments. Especially after the halfway point

Part 4 is spilt into 3 sections (which means 3 openings), though not officially like part 3 was, but it's about 12 episodes each, and so watching the openings when you have about 3 or so episodes left each section would probably be best. Just like Part 3, their will be special openings at the end, which need to be watched in the context of the show, and not afterward -- this end rule applies for Part 5 and Part 6 as well.

Something to pay attention to in this part is anytime you see a crowd of people, like when Koichi was approaching the crowd after Josuke got tackled. Important characters are hiding in plain sight.

It always bothered me that Jouske's grandpa couldn't be resurrected when Joseph could. Joseph was totally dead: no blood, no pule, saw his soul leave him, and he was like that for several minutes. Jouske's grandpa *just* died, why couldn't Jotaro use his stand to get his heart beating again. It'd be just like CPR. I've heard a lot of excuses, but that's all they are. It's just inconsistent.

Ah actually I was misremembering. It was the Mariah episode (Ep.30) when the old woman was flirting with Joseph, Steph said "Hands off he's very happily married" 😜

The stand went straight through his grandfather's brain, instantly killing him. Joseph had his blood sucked out, so you could argue that his brain still had some function. He's also a Jojo that survived falling from the Earth's outer atmosphere, Josuke's gp is just a guy. Ridiculous, yes, but not inconsistent imo.

We're finally up to the Slice of Life section of JoJo, I love Part 4 for being able to balance everyday life and dangerous peril, it still has that shift of atmosphere but this one had a lot more emphasis on "Look at these teens doing dumb teen things" and just overall slice of life goodness. Can't wait to watch more of these reactions!

As a member of the "The author said he only did this cause he couldn't think of any other way to have Josuke exist and therefore Joseph must've been heavily intoxicated or Hamon breaks condoms" club I would like to say that its perfectly understandable to find Joseph cheating to be hard to believe and indeed think that its nonsensicalness actually makes it reflect little on the character in the first place because Joseph is our precious GILF (as many like to call him) and can do no true wrong :D. But yeah this is my favorite part as well even now that I'm caught up I just can't help but come back to it, though frankly its hard to put any of 4-7 into clear tiers at least for me. The closest I can get is 4th part (perhaps soon replaced by part 7) is my favorite and 2nd place is being fought over by 5 and 6.
