How did you guys feel about Aya and Yukako in this episode?? 🤔

JOJO'S STOP GETTING ME EMOTIONAL WITH THESE DAMN SOUNDTRACKS.

Also, I attempted to colour grade for the first time ever as the video was extremely dark, so you may see some weird colour changes/blotches every now and again - ignore that, I'm not dying LOL.

ohh i love this episode🥹 it’s so cute yet still maintains the bizarreness of jojo’s. the whole concept is very interesting, especially when it’s happening to a teenage girl. definitely speaks on beauty standards, insecurities, and things of that nature. the seriousness of that aside, i think yukako and koichi are so so sweet. the development between them is very important, and also... unique lol. thank you for this reaction, steph! i hope you feel 100% soon ^^

Part 4 establishing that some Stand masters, while weirdos are just good people. Really puts to perspective that this is just a bizarre town.

Honestly, this episode shows what I dislike about part 4 so much. There are so many characters introduced and reocurring that there is not enough time to develop characters like Yukako. With the amount of trauma she put him through it doesnt feel right that koichi forgives her to this degree. I'll stop right there to avoid accidentally spoiling things but all around I wish there was more time spent developing their relationship.

When it comes to the woman at the start of the episode, I think Aya was saying the girl was ugly after getting the makeup, saying that the girl was more beautiful without the makeup but she would get her dreams because she put the makeup on.

Yeah I definitely agree, it's the biggest issue of the part. It's a part that likes to introduce new characters and interesting abilities every episode but barely every develops them sufficiently. It's why part 3 feels so complete in comparison. Part 3 introduces 6 main abilities and characters and all of them have at least a few moments where they get to shine, lots of interesting matchups that makes them use their abilities in creative ways and all characters are paired together for fights that develop the group dynamic. I don't think it'd be an exaggeration to say this part could have benefited from like twice the amount of episodes. I feel kinda similar about part 5 but not to the same extent as this one.

It seems Aya never mentions when she got her stand, but keep in mind that Tonio didn't need to an arrow to awaken his stand, his passion for cooking created enough "fighting spirit" and discipline to awaken it naturally, so Aya would seem to have done the same. Aya has a similar background to Tonio, given in the manga, in that she traveled the world to the best beauty schools in the world before coming to Morioh. Also, Cinderella, the stand, is named after a hair metal band.

I dislike how Cinderella uses her stand in a manner that profits from young girls' insecurities. Even though she can provide happiness in short bursts, the fact she's charging them so much and so often, on top of making it seem like true love can only be found amongst those lucky and beautiful, kinda disturbs me. Yukako is an interesting character, as she seems both very selfish and devoted in the way she loves, this part is nice as it can bring back characters easily since they all live in the same town.

With regards to this episode, I think the most important thing as you have mentioned is that to grow it comes from internally, via mental or the people around us, a pill or makeup can't fix our demeanor or the way we are but accepting it and see how to grow and especially as young students they trying to find themselves plus with stands that sense of self is amplified even more. So here's hoping Yukako goes on a better path as I can see that she can, just needs to believe in herself but also definitely has to listen to others when they talk especially Koichi which she did in the end. So there has been growth from the Yukako we first saw to the Yukako at the end of this episode. Excited for the next episode and yay HOLIDAYS

something that doesn't get talked enough is how Araki explores natural born stand users in this part. So far all natural born stand users have been EXTREMELY overpowered. With tonio is capable of regrowing body parts from scratch and heal health conditions and aya being able to change other people's luck and appearance. Which is a really big step forwards from natural stand users like Kakyoin and Polnareff. I cannot stress this enough, but this is a manga from the early 90's, a time where the classic shonen formula couldn't be more different than this and very, VERY formulaic. amazing reaction as usual !!! hope you recover soon steph !
