That title is unfortunate, had to do a double take lmao. Anyways this part has the best action imo. The stands are really fun and Araki starts to fully embrace his whimsy which only adds to it. It's such a fun watch that despite not having the strongest narrative it still competes for my favorites.

The biggest issue for me is definitly the narrative yeah. Like, without spoiling anything, even just the premise of Giorno and Bruno going after the boss because of drugs...I don't know man, kinda boring if you ask me. It's a little too black and white. Previous parts had cooler premises.

I REALLY like how when Formaggio was on the back foot, being followed and trying to figure out how Aerosmith worked, it felt as if Narancia took the role that the enemy stand user usually takes in the narrative where there's this seemingly super overpowered remote stand and the crew have to hide and slowly piece together what the ability is. Also helped that the narration mostly came from Formaggio panicking and we don't really see what's going on in Narancia's head. Really nice role reversal there that makes Aerosmith feel so much cooler!

Hitman Team is here! So the thing is, the first half of the flashback (the restaurant assassination and the meetup back at base) is anime-only original. The Sorbet and Gelato stuff and explaining the Hitman team's motives are in the manga though.

finally we get to meet my favorite villains in JoJo(and low-key outside of JoJo too), La Squadra Esecuzioni, I love how much they sometimes reflect Bucciarati's team in both dynamics and even share goals with Giorno, and the people on this team have peak stands and aura also Narancia is great, man goes all out in fights and his fight with Formaggio is goated

It starts off with the personal motivations, but it's quickly established that The Boss, through Passione, has a stranglehold on southern Italy, to the point where Giorno was worried about Koichi using the phone and talking about what had just happened for fear of the call being intercepted by Passione. It's clearly much bigger than just the drugs being sold to kids, that's just the most blatant and public sign of the boss's complete disregard for others. Not even going into spoilers of the boss's ambition.

Throughout the part, you're going to see why a lot of Jojo fans love the hitman team. They're probably the best bunch of minor villains in the entire series because of how cohesive and memorable their personalities are.

That's true but it's like...bro, you're in the mafia. You are involved with organized crime, what were you expecting out of this? It's the goal of organized crime to have so much control and disregard lol, they prey upon the weaknesses of people and seek to penetrate literally every aspect of society. And you're part of that. Their selflessness comes over as pure hypocrisy and a poor excuse for personal ambition. "Yes I hurt people, yes I ruin their lives, yes I steal their money, yes I allow for prostitution...BUT I'd never allow kids to take drugs" But let's say we accept that the Boss is special kind of asshole even compared to your regular mobster, I still find their personal motivations weak. There's not a real incentive given for Giorno to be this passionate about aiming to become the Boss. We are not invested in his ambitions. Only Bruno's goal is kind of understandable but it lacks some exposition man. Show us more about the lives ruined, about the awful situation even for mafia standards. All we see is like 2 kids in the beginning and a grandma. Show us how this is a direct consequence of the Boss instead of just the dealers not giving a fuck. Show us extensively how much of a plague this is. Make us hate and fear the guy. Tell us a dark story about him, show us how the Boss sacrifices disproportionately the well being of everyone for the sake of his dominion, make us believe that the near future is in danger if we leave the Boss alone. Remember how previous parts had premises which included this sense of urgency and danger. How the dangerous situation was exposed through scenarios that involved the characters's intimacy. Josuke's grandpa got killed because of a rogue stand user, DIO by his mere existence held Holy's life hostage so as to make it even more explicit that the Joestars and DIO were not meant to coexist. It also doesn't help that minors taking drugs is unfortunately the inescapable reality of dealing drugs, and having to deal drugs is the inescapable reality of gangsters. Whatever you do, even if the Boss wanted to, he could probably not enforce enough control to avoid teens taking drugs. If he gives up on drugs, some other crew would take over and could pose a threat to him. The only thing we get from the Boss outside of hearsay is that he trusts Buccelatti enough to have him guard his daughter. I'm sorry but that's kinda cool of him.

Gelato and Sorbet were the only two that ACTIVELY snooped around about the Boss’s identity — which is why those were the only two killed in the Assassination Team. But it definitely was a warning for the other members. I wouldn’t really say it’s because the Boss is “merciful” as you put it. Also, as for the Assassination Team being greedy, you’re totally right about that. They certainly have large ambitions, and a desire for lots of money and power. They’re not good people, that being said, there’s also some humanity behind them. One of the reasons they reignited their pursuit of the Boss is out of retribution for their fallen comrades, Gelato and Sorbet. You can see the sadness in Risotto’s eyes in the flashback at the funeral.😔 So I interpret the Assassination Team doing it for both Power and Revenge.

Following the food references trend on their names. Narancia means orange, Abbachio means lamb meat and Formaggio is a kind of cheese. I'll try to clarify a bit about the pronunciations, wish me luck. Giorno Giovanna = Jorno Jo-vuh-nuh Bucciarati = Boo-tchah-rati. Narancia = Naran-tchah Abacchio = a-bah-kioh Mista = miss-tah Formaggio = for-muh-jo Basically, Gi is similar to a J sound. Two Cs sound similar to a K. The Rs and Ts also have a "tongue whip" ir "tongue break" on them. They don't roll on your tongue like english letters usually do. I hope i did help a bit and didn't got confusing 😭. My italian is basic but my native language has a very similar pronunciation so it's way easier for us. But overall, don't worry too much. You're doing well, really. And sometimes trying to hard might make it sound weirder than just going with your ears lol.
