Random fun fact for part 5 is araki at some point wanted fugo to return to betray the gang. This was however scrapped because araki was going through a rough patch and wasnt sure he could do something so dark and sad so he just removed it entirely. Some people speculate cioccolata may have been the replacement for it since the stands are similar however its never confirmed and its just a fan theory.

Fun fact that has nothing to do with the lore: Dio is italian for "God" while Diavolo is italian for "Devil". Dio (God) was on top of the stairs from Polnareff's perspective, meanwhile Diavolo (Devil) was at the bottom of the stairs.

The cool thing about the stairs scenes with Polnareff is that when he tries to reach DIO (meaning God) he has to climb up to reach him, but keeps being put back where he was (meaning he couldn't reach him). Now with Diavolo (meaning Devil) he has to try to keep him down (stopping the devil from going up). It's such a cool parallel.

Polnareff found DIO (god in Italian) at the top of the stairs and now finds Diavolo (devil in Italian) at the bottom of the stairs, I love this kind of details tbh

it seems like diavolo was born with the personality disorder, considering that one scene when he was born and his eyes changing, which is quite strange. i think it's totally up to interpretation about which personality is the host. diavolo is quite confident and capable which would be good for doppio if he were the host, since diavolo can deal with everything he can't. if diavolo were the host, then doppio would help him hide his identity. tho if you consider how stands work then king crimson is the amalgamation of diavolo, if doppio were the host then he might have a less terrifying stand

I know he's the devil but Diavolo is a baddie, his reveal has crazy aura (I've seen some cool edits where they put King Crimson songs over his reveal scene) plus I love his backstory with Polnareff and that he discovered the stand arrows. Turtlereff is the goat and he could definitely solo a head of lettuce. And RIP Narancia, man was an absolute menace in fights and Aerosmith was one of the strongest stands in the squad. And last thing, the OST for this part is definitely my favorite, all of the main groups theme's (and even La Squadra Esecuzioni) go insane. I also love the theme they use for Bruno's first fight against Diavolo and Chariot Requiem's theme.

Yes, the stairs section is very much similar to Dio and Polnareff, except now it's Polnareff and Diavolo. Polnareff and stairs lol, first against God, now against the Devil. Crazy that Araki makes the villains so good-looking, like damn, straight hotties lol. CHARIOT REQUIEM. Yay, we now got TurtleRef, and he is still alive, so wise like Master Oogway. Crazy, then, if you fight Requiem, then it will utilize your stand to direct the effect back at you, kind of like Super Fly. Welcome back, Dia... I mean Bucciarati. Just 4 more episodes, and then we are in part 6. Crazy. NARANCIAAAAAA! NO! Why did you have to reminisce and talk about the future, not the death flagggg? AHHH, our pure boy, you shall be missed. At least he passed at peace and thinking of good thoughts. NOOOO! Great analyzes and notices of Justice; I didnt see it was there sup Enyaaaa Now that I think about it, we do have the ending song Modern Crusaders. Our part 5 crew are essentially like the part 4 crew, a modern type of crusaders who are going from city to city like the former going from place to place to defeat a god, whereas now it is to uncover and defeat a devil, which includes the son of that god, Giorno, who is the day. SO many deaths, nooo! Just like part 3, fate really is something Lastly, one thing I love about Araki and JoJo is that you always end a part with learning something new about the world or a different culture or music, depending on the setting.

a nice detail, or more a devastating detail, is that when giorno realises narancia's fully gone, he's shaking. it's a throwback to his a neglectful childhood where he cried so much for his mother, to no avail, that it became redundant, and so he would just quiver in dismay :( and ig we see that that behaviour sticks with him through life ughh

Steph watched this on Valentines just to watch two of her babies die and break her heart. One thing I will always commend on is the body switching part. Coz normally when stories do these they just make the actors dub out who they're currently switched with, but it shows the talents of the voice actors to not only still play their characters BUT they have to act like the ones they're currently switched with, like Mista's VA acting like a prissy girl and Giorno having a more softer and younger demeanor because of Narancia's childish attitude. The thing I like is that you see Mista (in Trish's body) show the most emotion out of Narancia's death. Also yeah, the Fugo shot and the airplane/bird symbolizing Narancia's soul is anime original.

While it is more than likely Diavolo is the host/dominant personality, I also like the possible fact that Doppio could have been the dominant only to be possessed by the “devil” Diavolo, which would make Doppio another tragic victim of Diavolo, akin to someone who would have a mental disorder/disease like schizophrenia/DID.

I believe Doppio and Diavolo were born not quite splintered yet. Outwardly Doppio was the casual personality while having psychotic Diavolo tendencies, and over time they became more defined and separate from each other. Diavolo inevitably became dominant self while Doppio retained this stunted youth. They are both the same and yet not the same. Trish is somewhat just as much Doppio's child as much as she is Diavolo's hence why their souls are so similar looking.

8:47 Diavolo explained that Bruno can now see and hear souls. Another big character thing here, is that in the backstory we saw, Giorno, as a toddler, decided to never to cry again, because it didn't help, and was thus "useless". Just a little cherry on the emotional moment sundae. . Also, something I just remembered, Keicho from part 4 and Narancia both have stands based on toys, which symbolizes how they're stuck in a state of arrested development, having felt like they're childhoods were interrupted they latch onto certain immature traits despite being forced to grow up faster than they were ready for. Maybe you've already read my thoughts on Diavolo's birth, because to me, I think that kind of ties into him not being a regular D.I.D., thus explaining why there would be two souls in one body.

Best part of part 5 is here. This is the big payoff!!! we are here!!! I personally love Polnereff coming back. It always reminds me of peak (part)3. I love these characters speeches and battles. I just don’t think it would be the same without our Frenchman. Gosh it’s hard to believe we are concluding part 5… wasn’t it like just June? Steph just started part 1 right?

Not sure if you noticed or not, but the "Arrow" they are currently pursuing isn't a regular one. If you look carefully, even the design is different and has a golden beetle on it. It is called the "Requiem arrow". Best comparison you can have is if you play back the flashback scene of Anya's box that was full of arrows. You will see all the regular ones and then the special Requiem arrow hidden in the back. It has this special property to awaken the stands. What happened with Kira was something completely different.

hiiii steph!! happy late valentine’s day🤗 these are certainly some sad episodes to watch on the day of love💔 these next few episodes are so good, and i am very excited for you to watch them, but i just love these three so much. i feel as though they reveal so much about the characters emotionally, so that’s what my comment’s main focus will be on this time!! ^^ first.. bruno offering trish his place to stay once all the chaos is done :(( he cares for her so much, and it has been evident since her introduction. him comforting her in the elevator, him sacrificing his life for her, and trish, in turn, being inspired by him and quoting his iconic ‘arrivederci.’ that’s her dad!!😭🩷 speaking of trish, her mind swap with mista will always make me laugh. their interactions were SO sibling coded! super sweet and touching. “oops queen where are we?” was hilarious on your part! as you mentioned, the va’s are so incredibly talented. the subtle, and not so subtle, differences in their voices to convey the mind swaps were phenomenal. it’s because of this that bruno still can tell that ‘giorno’ is narancia, which i think is also very sweet. trish running to narancia was so cute as well! and him in turn saying that he would protect her.. my babies🥹🥹 then, of course, we have narancia thinking of fugo and abbacchio💔 they were his family, and he missed them so bad!😭 when fugo stayed behind, he had warned narancia that he would die.. and now here we are :( i wish they could’ve all been happy together again. the music during narancia’s death/the scenes of aerosmith tore me apart. the composers really know how to pull at the heart strings😫 every now and again i find myself thinking of giorno’s last words to narancia: “now nobody will ever hurt you again… not ever. and i promise you… we’ll take you back home.” so incredibly touching. with all that being said, thank you for the valentine’s day gift steph! <3 i hope you’re feeling better, and see you next time :)

Narancia's death destroys me. It makes me think of Kakyion, the sweetest always end up suffering the most. I'll never get used to how quick JoJo deaths are. So realistic but damn it's painful. Bucciarati's soul is basically only "stuck" in his body because of Gold Experience. So now that he lost everything. Sight, hearing and everything. His soul is working like it would outside a body. It's "seeing and hearing" other souls. He basically hears what people say by telepathy. Polnareff should have become superstitious like Mista and never gotten close to staircases again after part 3 lmao Also he has officially first blood on Diavolo now. And he himself said that he could have got gravely injured if he was closer to Polnareff. I agree with about Diavolo being the second personality. Not doppio. Doppio was a good kid with dark dreams. He showed a need for guidence since his young age. And i feel that Diavolo was "created" to help him with that. To be his boss. To guide him to the greatness he wanted but could never achieve "by himself". Doppio kept stuck at that young age. Physically and mentally. It's almost like his adult and his child self went to different directions but are coexisting rn. When he became a stand user. King Crimson came as a representation of his paranoia, selfishness and need for protection. One of the most selfish stand abilities in the series. It has the ability to avoid misfortune. He can't use it to help other people. It only protects the user from fate. Everyone else is left in the dark. And just like how KC erases time. He seeks to erase his time. His past. His mother, his adoptive father, his daughter, his people. Everything, absolutely everything that defined him and who he was. He did his best to erase. No matter what it takes. Honestly i don't even see Diavolo as like Dio or Kira on terms of evilness. He's just.. cursed. Born with a broken mind. His paranoia and insecurities consumed him and took everything from him. It turned him into this. He doesn't even enjoys the absurd power and money he conquered. He doesn't allow himself to see the goddamn sun. Only his "most trusted agent" can do that. And he also doesn't since he lives to satisfy his boss. Most people live their lives seeking to be recognized. To be loved. To change the world or to at least achieve confort. He seeks the opposite. Eternal anonymity. Nobody knows what he did or will do, even his capos don't know who he is. In some way, not even fate knows him. Despite being so powerful, he's storycally meaningless. To 99,9% of the world, this man doesn't/didn't exist at all.
