Indica Jay

KidKryptonite420

Happy New Year!! Thanks Alanda and have my drink ready for reaction. Already lit because holiday, so perfect.

Diamon

happy new year again Alanda ! i just got off work so ima watch this before sleeping 😂🕺🏽

Jack

happy new year, mother! may 2026 be nothing but kind and gentle to you, and hopefully we see a reaction for Scooby Doo 2 (and maaaybe I’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summer, sneaking her in..) 🫶

Kylia Rose

i love that the boy who plays ernesto is the same actor who played robin in the original🥹

Downie

Happy New Year Alanda! Can’t wait to watch this later on. Thanks for all great videos in 25 x

Dana (Dah-Nah)

speaking of kids getting tore up, have you taken into consideration watching Welcome To Derry (and the It movies if you haven't seen them already)? i actually feel like you could handle it and i can absolutely see you falling in love with a lot of the characters

Chad V. C.

hated this movie with a passion

Joshua Faruque

Yay! I’ve been waiting on this one. Happy New Year Alanda! So grateful for you and every moment of laughter and joy you provide.

JAG85

Its very Nightmare on Elm Street with the Sixth Sense.

Super Nova Studios

Rest in peace James Ransone, always a stand out in every movie he was in

Aaron Gilmore

Alanda. Have you ever seen violent night even though it's an action comedy? Also no exit from 2020 I believe is good and that's a type of horror

Joh

Damn, I did not recognize him at all!

Joh

I kind of wish we would have dived more into Finn's trauma. And see more of healing for him because the ending is positive but we didn't see a lot of things that could help him get better. Killing the grabber was cathartic but it was in the first one as well and he was still scarred.

Joh

Voting for you to react to IT chapter 1 and 2 because I need to see you adopt a bunch of kids going through some shit!!

Jae

Loved this movie the third act felt a bit underwhelming tho im very glad ernesto and mustang survived as they were side characters i was scared for them 😅😅

camerön

Look forward to watching this one!!! Happy new year sunshine🌞💛 Side note - we kinda need a Stranger Things or Welcome To Derry marathon next, I just know you’d revel in any of those, I mean mostly🫣👏🏻

Meredith

Happy New Year precious Alanda- it’s been a pretty lonely year for me so I’m so thankful to have you as a distraction!!!

Kev

I don’t know if The Grabber was literally in hell, I was getting major Elm St vibes so I took it as him being in a kind of limbo just like his victims that weren’t able to crossover. But to him it was hell &”Hell was ice” because that’s where his sins began. I think The Grabber was able to access Gwen & Finn’s powers & use them to his advantage because he was now tied to the same limbo they have access to when communing w/ victims that haven’t crossed over. Cause in BP1 Finn was able to talk on the phone w/ Robin before his body was found & he was able to talk to the Grabber on the phone in BP2. However, he couldn’t talk to his mom or Robin when they’re supposed to be in heaven. Then wherever Gwen is in the “dream” realm, the Grabber has access to & can manipulate by using her as a kind of bridge. That’s how he could try to drown Mando & attack the others while she was sleep. The kids just needed to realize that they also had access to him as well. That’s how Finn was able to physically attack the Grabber at the end while Gwen was fighting him in the other realm. It got a lil confusing at the end without the clear grainy film transitions but Gwen & Finn were fighting the grabber in both realms at once. So Gwen was sleep next to Ernesto but in the “dream” realm she was actually helping her dead recover the bodies & Finn defeat The Grabber… I think lol.

Kev

I only realized because he sounded exactly the same & then I started doing the math lol but they did a good job of making him feel like a different character. At first I thought they just cast a great younger brother til it clicked lol

Hypnotic_Smile

Thanks you for starting the new year off like this Alanda! We love you! Happy New Year ‼️🎉🥳 May this year be filled with with much joy 🤩 peace ☮️ understanding 🧘🏽‍♂️ light ✨ & love 💙 This year is the year to achieve goals 💪🏽 keeping your peace & mind at ease 😌 and celebrating the life of yourself 🥰 Let’s make this the best year yet! 😝 It can only go up from here 🚀

Bexx Lane

absolutely!! I would loooove for her to binge stranger things and want to protect some more sweet babies!!

Dani

would've loved to see more of finn's healing but otherwise a fun ride

diana (world of tinashe)

Happy New Year Alanda! I really liked this sequel and loved the additions of Ernesto + Mustang, and the fact that we got a background story on Hope and found out the truth about her passing. also Barbara...you should feel happy that I wasn't there because one sly comment and you would've been UNDER the ice!

Kadiesha

I second that! The It franchise is one of my favorites and I think it'd be right up Alanda's alley

Joh

I'm pretty sure she has seen Stranger things.

luca

loved your thoughts at the end, couldn't agree more

Carmito

Finding out the actress who plays Gwen and the actress who plays young Nell (Haunting of Hill House) are sisters…mind blown. Them girls got talent!

camerön

Crap. I think ur right 😟 that rings a bell of a previous reaction vid now that you’ve said!

Brandon

Happy New Year, Alanda!! 🙌🏻

Offred84

Love your take on the movie.

Eyesick

I'm so glad we addressed the very weird & problematic subtext at the end. While the movie was enjoyable overall, & the cast did great, using God to invalidate the family's suffering is so fucking odd

Dana (Dah-Nah)

last time i mentioned it, someone said she might not be able to handle it and it made me think back to her talk to me reaction but now that the seasons over, i think she could

Belladonna Rose

"My brother's in there. What kind of freak-a-leak do you think I am, bitch?" 😭

J'aime Black

I couldn't wait to watch this with you Alanda! What a way to start the "new year"! I'm in the final seasons of supernatural so the christian/hell/jesus aspect of this movie reminded me alot of that. Someone in the comments explained it perfectly how i took the film but here's the short version of it: the veil between the living and dead is thin especially if you're gifted like gwen and finn, and spirits can be vengeful if they die a horrible death which is the case of the grabber and how he was able to do so much, the church scene is an important one bc it breaks everything down but it can be hard to keep up with if you weren't prepared for it..it definitely sets a different tone from the first one but it does nicely close this chapter for gwen and finn, i can only pray that they dont make a third one but it would be really unnecessary, i thoroughly enjoyed it though, finney grew up so much! 🥹 I only wished they showed robin or at least let finn hear his friend's voice one more time

J'aime Black

Also after reading IMDb lol, i found out that the guy playing ernesto is actually robin from the first movie! 😱

Barbara Carter

I kinda wish the Mando confrontation over the radio had been replaced with something to do with Ernesto~ Like we got Robin's actor to play his younger brother; so they look EXACTLY the same (minus the glasses & hair). I was shocked, with how much The Grabber went on about payback for a sibling's death, that they didn't have The Grabber and Ernesto have *something* of a confrontation~~~ Or I, at least, expected The Grabber to taunt Finn with the possibility of failing Robin by going after Ernesto, too...

Terrell

I agree wish he had something more to do

BlackGirlBakugo

Alanda, I have missed you so bad and now I have FINALLY made my way to the Patreon Party (^з^)-☆

Joshua Scott

I like this movie but also at the same time I'm like, gurl it's easy for you to say it's not a curse when you're already in the afterlife. Gwen went through hell.

Shannon

Yes. To everything you said, yes. I liked it; Mason and Madeleine are so, so good, but also…. Huh? 😂

Daniel McGuinness

I agree the rules are a little iffy, but it’s VERY Nightmare on Elm Street to me and I enjoy it for that 😅 Proof of concept for new Freddy content 🫶🏼

Joe Crammond

film suggestion: Beetlejuice (1988)

Jonah

I was terrified to see this movie because sequels are so rarely any good, and the black phone 1 is my FAVORITE horror movie of recent times. And I gotta say. My fears were totally justified. This movie absolutely did not need to happen, the Christian propaganda of it all is strong, and the writing felt... Lazy. Also! The reason the bloody and violent parts of the first movie worked so well, is because they were incredibly brief, and not heavy handed. It let you as the viewer know what happened without forcing you to watch senseless and excessive gore, which hits so much more emotionally hard. This movie was CHEAP with the gore. It made it feel less impactful. Also, I understand that it's not totally out of left field, but the tie in where the grabber killed Gwen and Finny's mom feels... corny. It was more emotionally impactful to me that she killed herself because the gift is absolutely also a curse and it was painful and ostracising for her. Idunno, the first film was a masterpiece. This one was entirely unnecessary and honestly kind of insulting to the artistry of the first one. In my opinion. 😔

qυєєяℓιвяα 🏳️‍⚧️

Why am I sobbing during a horror movie?! This estrogen got me feeling all the feels! 😭 I truly loved how they made this Gwen’s story. Even though both kids were going through trauma, the lingering memories with her mom still haunted her. I really liked how they tied it in. It was predictable, yet I still accepted it. It made sense with the story they were trying to tell. Truly if they wanted to they could make a third, but I think it would kill the franchise.

qυєєяℓιвяα 🏳️‍⚧️

I actually loved that they did it. I feel like there was more of the story that needed to be told. We all had a feeling that there was a connection to the mom somehow but we couldn’t figure it out. This was a predictable yet satisfying ending to that. But everyone is entitled to their own opinion. 🙂

Jonah

See, I think I liked it better being left as a stand alone open-ended thing. Sometimes I think movies and plots get over-explained when sometimes you should be left to imagine. It's not often I think this, but for some reason the black phone was one of those for me. But yeah, it just comes down to different preferences in the end.

Alex Charlie

WE NEED LONG WALK PLS !!! 😭

Daniel McGuinness

“You are now one of my elite children.” PLEASE

Belladonna Rose

You're absolutely right because why was Ernesto there? Just to protect and be a love interest to Gwen? What a waste when he clearly ties into the story. Yes, give him something to do with the actual plot!

MoreCInemaPlsss

I suggest Aterrados ( Terrified) then When Evil Lurks

Angel Tomes

Please please watch Fright Night (1985). I miss our 80s fun.

nico

that part made the most sense to me- they hadn't found the bodies, and Gwen found out she could control the dream state, so she dives into the lake to find them because she won't freeze like that. but the grabber being able to attack fully lucid people was odd. It kind of takes away from the horror too (?) because something about injuries from a dream manifesting on your real body is scary as hell, but by the end the grabber was functionally just a poltergeist/ invisible ice skater ..

nico

I like your commentary at the end. The scenes were really pretty but yeah this left a bit of a bad taste

Dakota Hill

I don't think the rules of the ghost realm or whatever are supposed to be that clear to us. But I'm one of the few that was disappointed with the first movie and preferred the second.

Belladonna Rose

I saw this in theaters and now watching it with you for the second time. I must say that my opinion hasn't changed after a second viewing. I feel like this sequel was completely unnecessary. And you were confused at the end because the end is nonsense! First, why the hell is Mando out there searching the frozen lake at night by himself? Nonsense! You can barely see as it is, but you're out there AT NIGHT! And even if the Grabber wasn't ghost smashing the ice, he could have still fallen in and froze to death and no one would have found his ass until morning. The movie doesn't follow it's own rules. First, it makes sense in a ripped off Freddy Kruger kind of way that the Grabber can some how pick up a sleep walking Gwen and fling her around. But then suddenly he can smack everyone else who's awake with his axe and draw blood. Why didn't he kill anyone if that's the case? He had a huge advantage because no one could see him except Gwen. He dragged Barbs husband from New York to California. Then Finn suddenly became a mime and choked him out. So now you can grab him, but you can't see him. Also, when the Grabber choked Gwen with the phone cord, I thought surely her ass was dead. Blood sprayed everywhere. The axe to the arm is bleeding and real, why wouldn't this throat sprinkler be? But no, she's totally fine and not even a mark on her neck. So is he causing damage from beyond the grave or not? And like you said, if he's in hell, why isn't he contained? These barrels with these dead children in them were way too easy to find after how many years of being submerged. How did Gwen just know that finding the bodies would send him back to hell or he'd lose his powers? She just pulled this logic out of the sky and it worked. If the Grabber runs on sin (the way "America runs on Dunkin") and he's full of sins or whatever he said...shouldn't he still be running around? If he loses his shit whenever you take his mask off, why not just rip that shit off from the jump? Ok, I'm done 🤣

Belladonna Rose

"Are you gliding?...It's the worst thing I've ever seen." 🤣😭 1:00:20

Kev

Yeah Finn slamming an invisible head did look pretty goofy too lol. They should’ve built up that payoff better. The end reminded me of New Nightmare though *Spoiler if you haven’t seen it*.. like when Freddy was able to get to Julie even though Dylan was the one asleep. That scene still makes me mad to this day 😩

Liam Rendos

we just might need a twilight reaction

Jonah

100% agreed on all points!

Bloodredcherry-fic

The dad's character growth is incredible, this movie SLAPS and I'm so bummed I didn't see it in theatres.

nico

Exactly, the demon rules being broken takes me out of it. But also when finny spoke to the Invisible Grabber i couldn't help but imagine him accidentally brushing his lips against his nasty face

Rosey K120

It was a great experience we watched it at like 10:30 at night so it was very different lol

Don Pacheco

She has the power not the son and dad so no the mom couldn't talk to them.

Madeby STVR

That’s not true if you watch the movies if you put it in words she has second sight, but he does have some of it bc he’s always contacted first literally through dead phones. The point was the mother daughter bond transcends the after life. Finns arc is the trauma with his father. So Alanda was actually pretty right

Devon Thompson

I thought Ernesto looked familiar. He is the same actor who played Robin in the first one. That's cool they brought him back to play his little kid brother. Anyways, this one was good but there was a lot that went over my head. Great reaction though, as usual!

Mikey

Im sure you'll love this

Cintia Martinez

Uh yeah cus the first was perfect. The writing was also cringe to me in this one

Dark Harvest

I loved it, I thought it was a worthy successor, the Christianity didn't take me out of it and Finn and Gwen were amazing. Christian subtext is in so many horror movies so I didn't feel oppressed by it. I think it's very much in the Freddie Krueger vane, there is Christianity in that too. I love a good redemption! When Finn smashed the grabbers face in the ice I LIVED! ❤️

Olivia M

I don't know if you have said if you will or won't be watching Scream 7? Any update?

KeKe

Yall look too deep into these😂

KeKe

It’s also important to note that if someone has turned their trauma into something good for them and others for themselves and their beliefs, that’s absolutely fine and YOU 🫵 get NO say in that. They aren’t saying “I’m glad I was abused because bla bla bla” no one is saying that. Use more critical thinking. It’s also an insult on the human mind to refer it as a “coping mechanism” people are more resilient than what YOU 🫵 give them credit for.

Samuel M.E

I'm sure she's seen stranger things. It was the most popular show on the planet.

Dakota McClung

It would have made more sense for the sequel to have been about Finn and his sister being led to the camp because there was another killer there killing innocent children and they lead them there to stop the new killer from killing, and the murderer could have been linked to the grabber as he worked there back in the day, so that's also how their mom knew the grabber and the new killer. This whole nightmare on elm street bit was outlandish compared to the first, because thats not how Ole girls powers worked in the first film.
