Monthly Waifu Poll for February 2022 -Results- (Patreon)

I think we've never had the votes lean so heavily towards one character in the history of waifu polls hosted by me! So some weird facts me and my discord community noticed over the past 2 days was that Marin is kind of special compared to the other nominees. For starters, she's just an ordinary high school girl whereas everyone else in the poll is characters that come from a varying degree of fantasy backgrounds more often than not where humans are at the bottom of the pecking order. Though I suppose Mileze also qualifies to be a normal human being except her world has mechs. 

I know I asked on discord but I'm quite curious to hear from my patrons, what attracted you to Marin? I normally don't ask but I'm kind of curious since I've never seen such explosive poll results towards one character before. Needless to say, I'll be drawing Marin this month and do my very best to deliver a piece you'll cherish ^^

You forgot than marins is very popular thèses days cuz this anime is good and everyone watched him lmao , my english is bad but when this character love play an erotic game and would a cosplay like that ... well you understand à lil bit x)

Sakuya and Arhat are so much hotter. I choose Arhat but i dont watch any of these shows but i just like the style of the character art. Im quite boring i watch My hero Academia, One Punch Man, The Seven Deadly Sins, Castlevania, Record of Ragnarok. Im not a fan of that weird Japanese stuff.

I personally don't know any of the other characters besides Albedo, so my vote was naturally going to lean towards Marin for the more recent and fresh option. I could write a paper on her character real quick though, but the short version is generally just sort of, she's refreshing. Especially for a love interest in a romance anime, having someone who realizes their mistakes and owns up to their weaknesses and strengths tends to run them pretty high in quality, even if Marin has plenty of room to grow in the latter half. Add onto the high levels of respect and conscientiousness and throw in a little bit of the Openly Perverted Virgin angle and it ramps things up. I wouldn't say she's totally unique, but she came in at a point where someone like her, executed well, is a high Want.

Albedo, Arhat I'm sorry I failed you...... 😢 I honestly think she is so popular because most people can only dream of having someone like her around them. Someone that you can show your less publicly accepted side to and they don't laugh or shy away from you or change the subject. The fact that what she is into and gleefully talks about resonates with the conversations and art in multiple discords I lurk in helps too 🤣

Lets refrase sorry im not that great at english grammar. I dont like some stuff in series like a master Roshi /Minoru Mineta the molester / creep characters. But i like them when they are more serious. And i should have said it differently. Because i not want to make people feel bad for watching these shows so my apologies for the bad choice of words. I really loved Jojo somehow and thats why my response of Japanese weird stuff is totally stupid when i think about it. Lets say i dont like some Japanese stuff. And with so many shows you just have to choose. One Punch Man was a show that looked stupid to me at first and when i started watching it i could not stop. One Punch Man i dont know why but love that show i doesnt take itself serious but its cool to watch. And yes i know Puri puri prisoner is out there but its shown its not accepted how he acts. It also shows how flawed super Heroes are and that they all are just human. really would love to see a third season even if its to wrap it up. My Hero Academia i love the growth of characters but one character Minoru Mineta i dont know if its Japanese culture or what he is a nasty little creep. Again when these characters are serious i like them way more. Seven Deadly Sins great show i loved it. But no idea why the main character has to be creepy how he acts when he is around he love interest serious i really like his character but this really takes him down. Mob Physcho 100 i just loved this show guess i have something for the akward characters. Dragonball Z should have stopped after the Cell Saga or they should have made Gohan be the one to take over from his dad. Castlevania i know not a real anime that show was fantastic from start to the end they were not afraid to stop at the height of the series. Rurouni Kenshin just a great show. I have quite a few more but its getting to long. Plus im getting older and i like my shows to have a ending i dont want to watch untill the end of time. Its like US and UK series they know when its time to stop in the UK and the US just wants to go on. I know its funny that someone feels like uncomfortabele about these small things and still is subscribed. But you have great art.
