We've just uploaded feedback to seven more match-ups. Thank you to everyone who submitted ideas. Let's see which of them you all prefer. Get voting!

Rewind Time! In the last round Hunchback of Notre Dame vs Phantom of the Opera smashed the opposition taking 43% of the vote. Pretty impressive. In second place was David Bowie vs Elton John with a respectable 20% and limping home in third place with 11% was Ho Chi Minh vs Ulysses S Grant.

I know it has been done three times, but a Darth Vader vs Hitler intro as they are original would be cool. or perhaps come as at the exit of a video and rip on them saying they are the original rappers. My 2 cents. All the best. Keep it up.

As a huge Sun Wukong fan... no. There is absolutely nothing in common between him and Sailor Moon. There's no beef for them, either!

I feel like Judge Claude Frollo would be more interesting than Judge Dredd, since Frollo is more well known due to Disney’s portrayal of him, and is also the darkest Disney villain ever created. But whatever

At least there’s some interesting train of thought here! Sun Wokong is the historical/mythological basis for Goku. (As well as many other anime) Goku was already used, but Sun Wukong and his influence kinda works as a stand-in for a “Shonen” Protagonist against Sailor Moon’s iconic “Shoujo” protagonist. Since the theme was “Boys vs Girls” I kinda dig it for this wave of suggestions! But overall, not a favorite

I can't picture Rodney Dangerfield in a rap battle. The whole point of a rap battle is to build yourself up and put the other guy down, and Rodney's whole schtick is putting himself down (which he even did in rap at one point).

Oh trust me; I've written an article explaining Wukong's inspiration of (as well as being the name basis for) the various Son Gokus that appear in anime, so I'm familiar! 😄 That said, reducing one of the most recognizable figures of Asian literature to "the guy shonen heroes are based on" is a disservice to the Monkey King, if you ask me. I'd rather have him go up against another mythical trickster (my vote is on Anansi). If ERB does a shonen vs. shoujo match it really should've been Goku vs. Usagi though, you're right about that. Although I have another idea for iconic 90s anime protagonists that could fill in that gap...
