Okay so we didn't realize this movie was NOT Cradle 2 The Grave till an hour into the commentary track lmao

This movie was a bit of a stinker - It desperately needed way more fighting, DMX, and Anthony Anderson. Banging sound track though! Enjoy Patrons!

I just watched this movie last year,and yea it’s a slow burn as the critics say with a 32% rotton,Jet Li’s fights the soundtrack and Anthony Anderson are the best parts and the CG is a bit rough including two people flying in mid air,physics is out the window,Aaliyah makes a good performance with her acting,it’s sad that she died too soon since she was about to become a big star but then crashing on a airplane is tragic,the plane got too heavy with the cargo and it forced that airplane company to shut down,I miss her RIP to her and DMX too who had a short cameo in two scenes but yea cradle 2 the grave has a better story and more dope fights Jet Li kicks ass and DMX as well,this movie feels like an MTV show mixed with a video game with elements of matrix action and MK X-ray moments,it may have been a bad movie but this that kind of movie where you just watch clips and not the whole movie to not care about the story,this director made Cradle,exit wounds,Doom and that stupid chun li movie lol

Oh gosh haven’t seen this in a hot minute. Hardly remember it but excited to check it out again. Cradle 2 the grave would be a BANGER though. That soundtrack is awesome.

Fun fact: the reason there was no kissing or love was because executives didn't like the idea of a black woman and Asian man together...even though they greenlit the movie and blasians exist😂

Jesus this movie tried so much and did nothing with it lol if I came into this movie half way I would have had no idea they were suppose to be in love.

I finally got around to this one. It's almost a great a mob war/romance movie, but it kinda just didn't work. Needed much tighter editing, and more chemistry for the leads. Aaliyah was 21 and Jet was 37 so that probably didn't help. Jet Li just isn't charismatic enough to fulfill that role. They tried to save it with Anthony Anderson charisma but still let it get bogged down with lots of characters and all the betrayal plots and emotional scenes most of the actors weren't really committing to.

Putting Jet Li into a romance role or really any role that isn't just a dumb action hero is such a bad idea. Least chemistry between two "romantic" characters and they had the gall to make a comparison to Romeo and Juliet. Wow. Only saving graces were the soundtrack, anthony anderson, and that fight scene with the fire hose. I do kinda hate people comparing jet to bruce or jackie because he's soooo fake (tons of cgi and wires) compared to them even though his scenes can be entertaining still.
