Had this one recommended for a while! This flick portrays Los Angeles and manic anger better than the rest of em. Shoutout to Angelo's Shitty Burgers! Enjoy!

Catze D

been on my list for a while. very glad to watch it "with" you all,lol

SentientTractor

My dad used to be a movie distributor in post soviet union and this movie doing well in the local movie theatres made my family extra money which they spent on my first ever PC (Pentium P5) . Such an amazing trip down memory lane thank you so much.

chivy

Man, Batman and Robin really gave Joel Schumacher a bad name, but this guy has made some good movies

Cyber Runner

The game with Michael Douglas I’d highly recommend it’s one of his best

Rick

This movie is such a diamond in the rough. Cant wait to watch it again

I never realized he did Lost Boys and 8mm. Talk about a varied filmography. I've seen interviews he did about his Batman movies and he was just straight up honest and basically said "I tried to make a living comicbook and if I failed, im sorry and that's on me". Film and art in general needs to take chances and you're not gonna hit 100% of the time but he gets my respect for at least trying different things.

Str8Hype

Had been requesting this since last year, thank you Lew. Dreams do come true.

Dane Blythe

I don't know anything about this movie other than a rap lyric I remember that literally just says "falling down like Michael Douglas". So I guess I'm finally about to understand that reference after 20+ years.

Hank Greenburg

Never heard or seen this movie, but this was awesome. Thanks for pushing for the commentary on this, Lewie. Gonna suggest Unhinged again cause it hits on a lot of the same beats as this but with a higher focus on the driving/traffic aspect.

Steve Vice

Michael Douglas is one of the best, this performance is insane. Can`t wait to rewatch this with the bois

I recognized the lady detective too, but not from Total Recall.... Looked at her filmography and was like AH!! She was the lady guard in Con Air!!

Funny, I was also first exposed to this movie from a song about 20 years ago. A song called "Smash TV" by Screaming Monkey Boner (or Screaming Mechanical Brain) used audio from the movie at the beginning of the song, the "stupid little hat" line. I Googled the quote and had been meaning to watch this movie ever since, but never got around to it until now.

Honestly, I joined the Patreon for exclusive content. You guys have posted commentary on movies unavailable on regular streaming platforms twice in a row. Not to mention the reposting on YouTube. If I’m gonna a pay $15/mo for content I don’t want to pay another $4 to rent the movie only for it to wind up on the free content on your channel. This is fucking whack.

Andrew Wilkins

I signed up for the Patreon to get stuff I thought I couldn’t get on YouTube. Now it’s free on YouTube and the commentary tracks are movies I have to buy. This is whack.

Andrew Wilkins

I have access to basically every streaming service and I’ve still had issues finding the movies you’ve made commentaries for

Wizkidfantastic

If yall liked this, there’s a movie called “God bless America” basically the same premise with more of a dark humor vibe. worth checking out. As I’m watching this, the manager guy isn’t the flare kid from office space, he’s the “sidler” tic tacs co-worker from Seinfeld that works with Elaine.

Hank Greenburg

No one would judge you for not continuing your subscription and just waiting for the commentaries to come out on youtube. The patreon is there to support them doing what they do, just like all patreons are. It is kinda lame that the last few movies aren't on regular streaming platforms, but a lot of them are available on archive.org if you just search for the movie title + year of release.

Rob Strick

Been waiting for this one forever! Thanks guys! What a treat!

Steven Ramirez

No one says you can't be mad at a "ethnic minority", the problem is when white guys get mad they go straight to the "Speak English" talk like the character did. The owner was just charging more, it doesn't mean you can be racist to them when you have a disagreement. There is no proof the Korean store owner was being racist which is how you know he wasn't racist.

pluvia33

You can't get this on YouTube....

pluvia33

I only have access to Netflix, Crunchyroll, and HIDIVE and I've never had issues with "finding" movies for the commentaries.

Actually A Chad

Man some people are whack. Lol. Keep up the great work boyos. Some people don't understand that the world does not revolve around them.

number1gnome

You don't have to pay for movies if you know where to look 😉I agree that it'd be nice if they did movies that were on YouTube Premium since that's the one I have but look at it this way: movies go on and off streaming platforms all the time. So even if they did a movie that's "free" on a streaming service, there's no guarantee it'll be there tomorrow. Goes the other way too. Lots of movies that you had to rent when the commentary went up, are probably on a streaming service now. Like Hank said though, I think if you're subscribed on Twitch/YouTube you're supporting the boys enough. Anything else is just a thank you to them in my eyes.

Mecha-Machine King

Such a great movie, I was afraid it might be a bit heavy for a commentary track but you guys had a great time, loved the reactions and especially the restaurant review bit at the end. I would highly recommend checking out To Live and Die in L.A., another crime thriller that makes Los Angeles look like hell on earth but with the 80s-ness cranked up to max.

Just a reminder Andrew, we post commentaries here weekly - they get exclusivity on patreon for a while - but eventually we post them to our free youtube commentary channel. This is just a way to give back to those who want to support our efforts into doing everything we do. As for the movies not being on streaming subscriptions lately, yeah we hear ya and that is a bummer. You wouldn't believe all the movies we have done over the years that are on Netflix one weekend, and then the next they are stuck in limbo for months until MAX grabs it, or something else. We will try to be better at pitching movies that are more readily available on the big streaming services.

I want to thank both the Jaboody boys and the rest of the community for being so kind in your replies here. I was frustrated and I let myself get a little mean in my comments. Everyone here has been nothing but supportive and helpful in your replies. Thank you and I will definitely keep my subscription going because I love these commentaries. I was upset because I’d been looking forward to it all week and it wasn’t available for free anywhere. Sorry guys.

deeno

To Live and Die in LA is fucking banannas in such a hard boiled way. That’s a fucking movie right there lol

Bodomi

Love when yall do commentaries on more 'serious' movies. Thanks for all that you do as always!

RRRRRRRoRRon

Yeah I agree with Lew, it's one of my favorite movies but I forget how dark some scenes were haha. Watched this once at home and my dad walked in on the Nazi scene where he gets knifed. Talk about awkward lol

Audiogarden 777

Thank you! may your pillow always be cold.

Audiogarden 777

We are so desensitized by inflation that the prices in this movie that were supposed to be outrageous are actually insane deals now lol.

Bulb

I'd love for y'all to do a commentary of Throw Momma from The Train, Danny De Vito and Billy Crystal 👏
