You HAVE to watch this one! We were blown away by this absolute MASTERPIECE of action cinema. JCVD and John WOO just hit SO RIGHT, man. We know - its not currently on any streaming service at the moment - which is CRIMINAL... but this really is a MUST watch. Enjoy!

John Woo not only made Hard Target but also Hard Boiled with Chow Yun-Fat and looks fucking dub-tastic with a 7.7 on IMDB. Get on it BOYOS!! Fucking hilarious dub and like Big Trouble Imma be watching this one many times over!!! Love ya bois!

Hard Boiled (1992) is the film that put John Woo on the map. That's his best work, you guys gotta do that one next. That movie is action packed. One of the best action films of the 90's plus is dubbed in English.

It seems the 4K release (from Kino Lorber) contains the Unrated International Version. I read that the US Blu-Ray release is 'R-rated' but contains the uncut version. Looks like I'll be picking up the DVD to get the same version the boys watched. The uncut version is so kick ass though. There's way more bullets and blood.

100% agree, that one some insane actions scenes specially those one take sequence shots. I put that one as one of the best action films of the 90's.

The Theatrical is the one everyone needs. Its 1h37m. The only difference between the uncut and the version on Blue Ray is extended opening and ending scenes. Pause when you see Directed by John Woo on the screen (it is right when the water splashes). You can sync the newer version mostly up by pausing once you hear the boys talking about sax music. Pause 5m6s and play at 5:50. It syncs up at the bridge. Hopefully that helps folks out.

If you boys get into Hong Kong action cinema another amazing one is POLICE STORY directed, starring, and stunt coordinated by Jackie Chan himself, its also one of the best action movies of all time, with some shockingly impressive stunts

I sync mine up with the 1hr and 39 min version and it wasn't a big deal for me, there's only like three or four extended scenes. Just need to pause the commentary track a couple of times to catch up with the video and you're good.

I just read that this movie got chopped to hell to get a rating, and there are several longer cuts. I watched the one that is a few minutes longer so I had to pause the commentary to resync quite often. Looking at a list of differences, there were actually a ton in those few minutes. Seems like they basically cut the amount of gunfire in half for most deaths, and removed a lot of exit wound blood and such. There is a massively longer 128 minute cut but it's rough with no music etc. And then a 116 minute test screening cut which has a lot of extra content including a bit of a romance scene early on, but they change the ending and just throw a grenade at the villain instead of doing the pants and unscrewing bit.

So glad you guys did this movie, it's such a ride. Henriksen's gun is a Thompson Contender, which is made for hunting and can easily swap barrels to change caliber. One of the henchmen in Hard Boiled uses the same gun. I highly recommend Hard Boiled and The Killer by John Woo, they are masterpieces of action. They also have really derpy English dubs depending on how you get a hold of them.

For the record, the version of Hard Target on Amazon Video seems to sync up fine with the dub. 10/10 slapped snakes.

This is probably one of the few JCVD movies I missed growing up. I remember a friend that saw it scoffed at how he dodged a ridiculous amount of bullets. Another loler from the J-Dub boys! This one is currently on Tubi! Get it while its hot!
