Sizzling burgers; gentle breezes; sound of passing cars. Since it's a scene transition from Laurie's apartment, same time of day: a quiet evening.

Freddy is troubled about something, but he's doing what he does. Burgers for a second night might imply to the reader that Freddy is a one-solution type of guy.
