At this point, the reader should have a grasp on each of the characters, though Avalon should come off as more mysterious. We get to see how they each deal with the same gang of tough guys, and what that reveals about their personalities. Roshim is big and tough, but he's got a lot of thoughtful restraint to him; Avalon hasn't shown us much, but his initial charisma hides something a bit colder
