I was talking about Roses for Avalon with my partner again (I introduced them to the comic in the first week we met, we spent a lovely afternoon reading it on the couch together naked that first week), and I once again circled back around to this scene, and Willy's conversations with the priest and the therapist, Cody's conversations with his dad. You really excel at writing clever multilayered dialog between your protagonists and older authority figures, and I sometimes wonder what it would look like if a relationship like that took a more central place in one of your works, years down the line of course ^^
