This past weekend was Canada Day weekend :) I ended up having a little bit too much fun and ended up spending a day in bed yesterday (too much booze, woops).
On Friday, I met some new friends. They were nice, cute young ladies. One was trans like me. They were running a little booth at the Canada Day festival in town, selling stickers to promote her Instagram art account (I'll ask her later to see if she's comfortable with me sharing it here). She draws cute little cartoons with soft pinks and blues. I talked with them for a while and they invited me to a party. It was a fun party, but I was a bit shy and didn't talk to many people or stay around for too long (I was also exhausted from spending the whole day outside in the sun).
Before I left, the girls invited me out for a birthday party. They told me that they were going to a bar, but were going to meet at a dance studio first for a dance lesson. Whatever, I like dancing even though I'm terrible at it; I figured it would be a fun way to get to know new friends, be silly together, whatever...
Well, I walk into the dance studio and it had a big ol' stripper pole in it! It was a surprise for me and for the birthday girl. The two friends who planned it had a good laugh and then we all learned some stripper moves. We all laughed our butts off, but I have to admit something....
I LOVED IT SO MUCH.
And I think I was pretty good at it. The girls seemed impressed, though I wasn't really able to keep a straight face while doing it--though I was able to climb the pole and do a few impressive spin moves by the end of the class. The instructor pulled me aside before we left and asked me if I wanted to do lessons. To be honest, I'm thinking about it! Though I don't think I could actually strip in front of people haha...
Well, that's what I thought, and then we went to the bar for drinks, but it wasn't a regular bar. It was a strip club. We drank, we laughed at stupid jokes, and we watched beautiful girls dance on polls with a whole new appreciation for how hard it is to spin on those things.
I had one drink too many. My new friends peer-pressured me into going onto the stage. The bartender girl didn't help by saying, "Just don't hurt yourself and be down before the manager gets back from his break."
Sooo, I went up, just for a minute. The bartender put on a song. I honestly couldn't tell you what song--I had a few too many. I think it was Stroke Me? Some people sat down to watch while I embarrassed myself for a minute, but they were polite enough to cheer when I spun around on the pole, and they threw money at me when I took off my top. I DIDN'T TAKE OFF MY BRA, I promise. And I gave the money to the bartender, and she gave me a free drink (or is it considered free if I gave her money?)--and then after that she cut me off, and I don't remember much after that point.
But long story short, I think I might have been a stripper in a past life. And, uh, consider me inspired, because now I want to write a stripper-themed story. I even added a pole to the amazon wishlist if anyone wants to be a part of the story, or have their ideas put into the mix. :) I promise I would love you forever!
And now I have a question for all of you! What, in your opinion, is the ULTIMATE STRIPPER SONG? Me and my new friends were having this debate. I don't want to say my pick until I hear your thoughts :)
