I'm working to upgrade my Patreon page. A rebrand was long overdue. Not to brag (okay, maybe I like bragging a little bit) but for years, authors have been trying to emulate me because I've been one of the most successful authors in the trans romance and feminization categories (I've been #1 on Amazon for half a decade). And being high in the charts leads to a lot of imitation, and also a lot of pirating and theft.

I've taken steps to address the pirating issue, but it seems like an unbeatable battle at times. These people truly believe that they are some modern version of Robin Hood, and they seem to believe that I'm some bougie rich girl who overcharges for books to stroke my massive ego. Well, I promise that I'm far from rich. I spend all of my time, including most weekends and holidays, writing and I make less than a plumber makes on his first year out of trade school.

But the growing plagiarism and pirating led to my Amazon account being closed in November. My stories began popping up on Google, and Amazon assumed that I was breaking their terms of service. A number of other authors lost their accounts as well, and I was one of the lucky few to get reinstated. Now, I have to be extra careful. I removed over fifty books from sale on Amazon, and on Feb 1st, they will be eligible to be released elsewhere. I plan to release them here: one every week for an entire year.

I'm still fighting the plagiarism, theft, and imitations designed to convince unsuspecting readers that those books belong to me. Part of this effort has been rebranding; I've had to do it twice before. My original branding ended up being used by dozens of authors in this genre--many friends of mine, and I can't say that I minded (it's a compliment, really). But I wanted to set myself apart, so I rebranded around 2018. By the end of the 2019, that new branding was the new standard: Paris Skye, Kenzie McKay, etc. Again, I take it as a compliment more than anything, but I've always wanted my work to stand apart. So you've probably noticed the new branding.

Give it a year and I'm sure this will be the new standard!

Okay, enough bragging.

I'm obsessed with growth. I'm terrified of plateauing, because plateaus always come before big drops.

So I made Sissy School to keep things fun. There was so much demand to bring back the Sissy Games, but I wanted it to be a bit more structured, with more possibility for growing into more. I've already expanded it outside of Patreon, and now, there are 25 students signed up.

I've created a Discord. Here's the invite:

https://discord.com/invite/ukMBZGkVa4

It's for Sissy School, but the Discord is also a good place for our community to hang out. You don't have to be a student to join. It's just a nice place to chat in realtime, to mingle with readers. If you're not there already, be sure to join up!

Also, coming in 2023, I'll have my own website with a proper email address. More news on that to come. It won't have much on it; just a little landing page to keep all of the various links separated: Amazon, Patreon, Twitter, Email, etc. Oh, did I mention that I got a Twitter?

I'm still drawing too; Sissy School has been a bit more time consuming than anticipated, but I still plan to get to all of the drawings I promised :) I'm still also taking commissions, public and private.

I'm a busy girl.

Finally, in January (maybe sooner if I'm lucky), you should end up seeing the first Nikki audiobook for sale on Amazon/Audible. I'm finally going to do it. For some reason, I've been hesitant to go through with the process, worried about opening my work up to narrators. I get very conscious about hearing my own work out loud. And for some reason I have myself convinced that narrators are extra judgemental after reading so many works from so many different authors... but I get asked about audiobooks so much that I feel like I just need to conquer my fears.

Okay--enough about me. I need to get back to writing!

And don't worry: there will be lots of content posted between now and Feb 1st. Don't think that it's going to be dead here for the next 50 days!

Saw an author, Kelly Counts, with a very similar setup just now. They're already starting to follow.

Interesting! I wonder if Counts is another author with an alternate name.... that branding looks awfully familiar
