The people have spoken! The poll results have pointed us into making the setting a "Natural Fantasy".

All of this project will be taking place within an arid Savannah, with rolling dunes of sands where travel via sandships is necessary, and remnants of a world long ago still echo. Though, many whisper of lands beneath the dunes where life flourishes. Including that of an ancient civilization believed to still exist.

While there's no name for the lands, there is something rather important that needs to be done. We need our own lead swordsman, since every fantasy game has a lead who wields a sword. For this, I'll be taking pitches on both appearance and his history. Is he a man seeking adventure from a protected city? Was he a pirate on the dunes who changed his mind? What calls him to adventure?

While Raiko, our catty rogue, was the first to be designed, it should serve as a decent idea on what the aesthetic of this world is like. This is a land of desert and grassland, after all.

So please, provide some ideas and pitches on what this swordsman will end up becoming.

A poll for exclusives will be available tomorrow, I'm still trying to figure out who I'd want to slot in there!

first thing that comes to mind is say something of a sand pirate. His wardrobe is that of like a raider. cloths draped over, mask and goggles to cover from the harsh sands and winds, but having some aesthetic in relation to pirates. Maybe a piraty hat, his blade being a sort of saber, pirate like boots. maybe an eyepatch. Long coat over the cloth/hood.

Satori the Deserter A young and capable fighter who belongs to a city constantly expanding it's holdings. They claim to be doing this as a means of bringing stability to the shifting sands. The authorities claim that once all people are brought under one banner, then can they focus on healing the world and repelling the monsters. This, is something that Satori always believed. Both his father and older sister have been part of the military so when he was of age he gladly joined. His family gifted him a sword as he made his way off to conflict. This was against a group who'd been constantly raiding settlements, bringing chaos and death with them. ... Yet how often is the world anything like we are told? Satori found this out the hard way after many hard fought battles and the death of the majority of his company in the fighting. It was then he overheard the officers talking about how their foes possessed an abundance of water they could now claim. It had never been about justice, only about greed. This was too much for swordsman, he could not remain part of a society that spent lives so readily. And so one night he drifted away into the dunes. It's been years since... Now the Authorities hold a large bounty on him for desertion. Yet though many have tried seeking it. None have yet to claim it. ====== His outfit, at the start at least, would be his heavily modified former uniform. All symbols of his homeland have been removed, ripped off or patched over. He also wears a poncho... Because poncho in a desert is such a hard yes. His sword (whatever form it takes) is heavily chipped and worn-down by years of use and limited repair. Think he looks TIRED, like the man had four hours of sleep a year and a half ago. His hair is long, he stopped cutting it short, stills shaves though.
