Hey everyone! This one came in a little later than planned — real life threw some curveballs (extra work after layoffs at my day job), but progress continued, and I’m happy to finally share what’s new in this build!

What’s New:

Live2D Demoness Outfit: Mage DressShe finally has a proper outfit — fully rigged and animated in Live2D!The mage dress now appears across all screens — town, battles, menus, and beyond.

Clothes Awareness SystemShe now reacts based on whether she’s clothed or not — a small but fun step toward more immersion and personality.

Stat-Based Visual GrowthEach growth-related stat now triggers visual changes (with 5 stages each):Magic → larger breasts (BE)Vitality → increased height and overall maturity (GTS, AP)This system lays the foundation for more dynamic transformations going forward.

Live2D Stability ImprovementsBackend logic reworked for smoother rendering and fewer glitches.Live2D should now behave more reliably across battles, menus, and interactions.

Quest FixesSome quest flags and triggers have been patched to prevent event looping or softlocks.

Temporary Removal: Tattered RagsThis outfit has been pulled for now while I rework its Live2D logic. It’ll return later with proper visual support.

Coming Next

FMG — visual scaling with Strength

AE — based on Dexterity

A fully live2d animated growth-reactive Paladin companion

And a brand-new recruitable character after that!I’ve got a few ideas cooking — we’ll do a Patreon poll soon to help decide who joins next.

Known Notes

This update sets the stage for many new systems — outfits, transformations, dynamic interactions and more.

If something feels off, please report bugs or glitches — it really helps me track down edge cases and polish things faster.

Thanks again for the patience and continued support — I hope you enjoy this build!More outfits, systems, and content are just around the corner.— CM

Wow very very nice update!

Glower13

hiya! nice update i have just few questions will you be updating the paladin heroes progress as well ? it feels bit slow imo. Is it in any kind of plan to make the live animation alive and reacting during the fight ? thats all hope you doing well and best of luck

In Her Shadow

Hey, thanks so much! Yep — once I’m done polishing the demoness, Paladin is next in line. I’m planning a Live2D rework and a progression tweak. Battle animations are on the list too. Though I might go even further — I’ve been toying with a full battle system rework to make things more interesting (I’m taking notes from Nemesis system in Shadow of Mordor) Appreciate the support — hope you’re enjoying the update so far!

I'm encountering a bug where the demoness loses her vitality health buff when you get the "drift into her warmth" event. Like i'm looking at the stat breakdown and it says "Max HP: 34 + 30 = 34"

M8TS

I can second this.

M8TS

I've been outta the loop for quite a while, can anyone tell me how one unlocks the Ruined Plaza event? And also this supposed other companion that exists? I already defeated that first guardian.

Dffd2

What about having more leg growth with vitality with the model as curenttly it way to subtle with the ap

Dffd2

The magical dress is bugg and i think it set her stats as the dress buff not adding them together, if i remove the dress i get all the buffs this means level up stats are not applied unless you remove the dress

I have decided to compile the bugs and oddities I noticed for this version into one post that I will edit if I find more or find more details about the bugs rather than having lots of small posts. I think I am done with the bug and glitch hunting for this update, but if there are any questions regarding my findings feel free to ask. 1: *Unavoidable, extreme gameplay bug* When sleeping with the demoness in your party the demoness’s stats gained from any attribute are lost until the next time she levels up, including height and weight. If the “Her Warmth at Night” scene occurs or her drain is denied during the “Before Sleep” scene they remain reduced until she levels up again whether through the “nightmare” or "before sleep" scene or the use of the level drain ability. 2: *Significant Input-Blocking Bug* Attempting to allocate the demoness’s attributes at level 151+ will block mouse inputs, forcing navigation of the allocation screen using tab, shift, and enter. This is likely due to the demoness’s live2d box overlapping the allocation screen even if she isn’t visible. (Shoutout to Tboss for providing additional information on both how to work around the issue as well as insight on why it happens.) 3: *Display Bug* Vivienne’s Rapture gains displayed at the end of quests are not always accurate, sometimes even displaying double digit gains despite 5-6 being the maximum gain. 4: *Display Bug* Vivienne does not always mention gaining rapture in combat or mentions it several seconds late. 5: *Character Development Bug* When Vivienne reach their final growth stage, her personality reverts to how it was upon initial meeting. 6: *Major, Practically unavoidable gameplay bug* The post-quest reward screen sometimes doesn’t appear, complete with the consequence of not receiving XP or Gold from the quest. This appears to be much more common if only a few foes are defeated. I believe this may be caused by the same issue that causes bug #7 as the game may not display the end of quest reward screen if no reward points are being tracked. 7: *Major, practically unavoidable gameplay bug* The Reward Points displayed in the end of quest screen do not match those displayed in the post-combat screen when travelling with Vivienne in the Haunted Ruins. The cause appears to be that defeated foes’ reward points are only sometimes added to the total displayed at the end of quest screen, as tracking the XP and Gold gained using what the post-combat Reward Points display gives inconsistent reward levels while using the post-quest Reward points displayed gives much more consistent reward ratios. Additionally, my tests show that this issue only occurs if enemies get a turn to do something, as the inconsistency between post-combat and post-quest reward points ceases when no enemies got a turn. If Vivienne is not struck during combat this issue also does not occur. 8: *Major Scaling Bug + Display Bug* Vivienne’s effective max HP caps at 10,000. Additionally, her party configuration screen’s max HP is not consistent with her actual max HP in combat starting between level 66-67- at least at max rapture level. 9: *Inconvenient Audio Bug*When using the button to mute the ingame music, the music unmutes when pressing the finish quest button. 10: *Terminology Inconsistency/Moderate Gameplay Bug* The option when encountering Serpentina to let Vivienne speak first is displayed as locked, and it is not possible to encounter Serpentina without the demoness in the party. As a result this option can never be chosen. If this is intended because that part of the game is not complete yet, then it does not match the established button terminology already in use in the town(ex: upgrading sword at the armoury is “under development” rather than locked). 11: *Minor Oddity/Bug* Potions of the same kind do not form stacks after one stack of that kind of potion is already formed. 12: *Minor display bug* Attempting to purchase any potion from the armoury or mage guild when your inventory is full(20 stacks of items keeping in mind that potions stop stacking with each other after one stack of that kind of potion already exists) will result in the same message being received as if purchase were successful, but no potion will be added nor will gold be deducted. 13: *Not sure if inconvenient bug or intentional* Progressing Vivienne’s Rapture level with excess Rapture will cause all excess Rapture to be lost. 14: *Main Objective Bug* Recruiting Vivienne does not give any journal progress in the main quest towards the “Recruit a powerful ally to join your fight against the cult” main objective. 15: *Minor Gameplay Bug* Vivienne does not recover HP when sleeping if she is only level 1. 16: *Major Potentially Playthrough-Ending Gameplay Bug* When sleeping before entering the Withering Grove with the Demoness in the party you will instead return to the tavern screen instead of entering the Withering Grove, forcing you to sleep again if you get any variant of a scene that results in the hero being drained. This can occur multiple times in a row and is possibly the only realistic way to get the game over screen for being drained past level 1 without actively fishing for it right now. 17: *Significant Visual Bug* The demoness’s model is partially cut off vertically and/or horizontally at larger sizes. This applies to both combat and in the town during scenes. This may be the same bug as #18 but just a different aspect of it, as they both start around the same time. 18: *Significant Visual Bug* At larger sizes(larger than about 5 meters), the demoness’s model starts to gradually move off to the right side of the screen and eventually becomes impossible to see at more extreme scales. 19: *General Inconsistency* The Demoness’s nightmare scene is generally odd. I'm not even sure whether to consider it a bug or not because it doesn’t really matter and it IS a dream sequence, but the demoness’ stats as she grows during the nightmare scene(HP and MP) actually grow far slower than in normal play- scaling in a more linear fashion rather than exponentially like in the rest of the game. Additionally, the nightmare scene is the ONLY part of the game where both imperial and metric units are displayed for height, and only imperial units are used for weight despite metric units being used for the entire rest of the game.(As a side note it would be appreciated if a preferred measurement system could be chosen as a setting for easier understanding for all players since clearly a conversion system does already exist in the game and is used exclusively for the nightmare scene.) 20: *Inconsistency/Oversight/Minor Combat Bug, not sure which* Using level drain on a level 1 enemy does not drain a level from them but still gives one to the demoness, and it also does not defeat them or incapacitate them. Due to the implications of the only way to get a game over screen being the Hero getting drained past level 1 wherein the hero is described as losing all power and having given it all to the demoness one would expect something to happen when level draining an enemy that is already level 1, but it works just fine except nothing happens to the enemy. If this is not an oversight it does raise the in-lore questions as to exactly what happens when one’s level is drained when already at level 1. I believe this may just be an oversight, as there are so many other odd occurrences that occur at larger sizes at the moment that the developer simply hasn’t been focusing on what happens at very high levels since the last story event that occurs aside from growth stages for the demoness at the moment is encountering Serpentina which is well before most of the other issues I have found regarding high level/high scale becomes a problem. Just to be able to encounter this issue you need the demoness to be extremely high level to even manage to fully drain the levels from an enemy or at least have a massive amount of mana potions. Even taking into account the idea that something happening when being drained at level 1 depends on consent this would still be an oversight as the nightmare scene draining definitely does not appear to be consensual for the hero considering every action available and every dialogue spoken implies that the hero is definitely not ok with what is going on, and they end up waking up in a cold sweat and being comforted afterwards. The nightmare scene will lead to a game over if you are drained past level 1 in the “real world” as a result of the nightmare and there is no way to avoid a nightmare scene other than loading a save. The demoness also remarks about putting the drained levels from the nightmare scenes to use during certain scenes, so she definitely knows what is going on with the nightmares and is *probably* causing them herself. 21: *Notable inconvenient bug unless intended* The demoness’s attributes allocated are unallocated when loading saves. 22: *Display Bug/Inconsistency* The “Attempt to Retreat” button always displays as a 50% chance to succeed. However, upon using the button it will display a percentage chance to succeed in the combat log. As combat progresses, including across multiple fights, this number in the combat log grows while the number on the button remains 50%. The chance to retreat displayed in the combat log also appears to change inconsistently, with the Demoness having displayed retreat chances substantially lower than when testing with Vivienne and even the Hero solo. It is difficult to tell whether this is a simple display bug with the button not updating or if the number in the combat log is wrong since attempting to retreat can only be done once per fight and increments upwards very slowly and sometimes seems to not increment up at all, especially with the Demoness in the party when using Heal.

for 2: you can still attribute/de-attribute with tab/shift tab, and enter. I think the live 2D screen is being layered over the attribute buttons making them un-clickable. The Nightmare solution of shrinking the player character for reference, or putting a cap on the size of the live2D section may help with this. there is a level range were you can find her tail or parts of her by scrolling, but most of her body will be off screen and can't be found. for 19 (and for the 5 meter limit): I think it uses level without any vitality attributes. once the demoness gets to high levels, you can add and remove vitality to see her jump in size. and some scenes seem to either set her to the size she is supposed to be for the scene until it resets, or use the size without vitality factored in. Personally I don't think the vitality bonus should factor in exponentially as it does currently as it seems to work as an exponent on an exponent it higher levels

Hello everyone, I have read that there is a Discord server for this community and seen the discord link in the information section of the Patreon but my attempts to join have failed, saying that the link is invalid or expired. Can anyone here confirm that the Discord actually exists and is supposed to be joinable? If it is, the invite is broken.

Howdy folks, I figured I should give an update for fellow fans of In Her Shadow in regards to current developments with the project since the developer has been silent on most platforms for a while so it can be tricky to know what is going on. I have been invited to the official Discord since my last time posting here, and that Discord is the best place to keep informed on what news there is on the game. Work on the game is still ongoing but with no defined release date on the next update according to the information available to me as of posting this. If you have any questions about the game/progress, the Discord is the best way to get into contact with the dev. Edit: The discord link can be found in the information/about creator section of In Her Shadow's patreon page.

I can see at the Moment the Major bug issue Is with the graphic growth of the demo ess, After She gains too much level can not be fully displayed in the screen, maybe Is adjustable if reducing the height of the MC while She grows tò maintain proportions. The second bug display Is when She grows too much and cannot allocate point in the pop up box.

In Her Shadow

Yeah, I’ve already fixed those for the upcoming update. I actually went with something close to what you suggested — adjusting the interface a bit and scaling the hero down so the demoness still feels bigger without breaking the screen Her growth will also slow down at higher levels so things stay playable at extreme sizes and she doesn’t get cut off anymore
