Chapter 2 Sneak Peeks (Patreon)

Heyo, I hope your new year has gotten off to a good start!

Work on CE:ROM continues. It's been a bit of a slow start on my end; I've been focusing on nailing down the specifics of the story for each individual chapter.

Chapter 1 was a bit of an anomaly, as I wrote it from start to finish in order to create a vertical slice for the demo. Chapters 2 through 6, however, require a bit more planning in order to tie into each other (as well as Chapter 1) nicely.

I like spreadsheets, so I've made one to make it easier to keep track of each character / plot point over time and better see how they relate to each other.

It's already helped me realize "this plot point is being rushed" or "too many things are happening here" several times, so I'd say it's a worthwhile investment.

Hopefully I can finish up with this before the end of this month. In theory, that should greatly reduce the amount of creative thinking I need to do, which would shift a lot of the work to "just implement it".

Chapter 2

The operations for the next chapter are all basically done (though not all of them are in alpha yet)! This isn't including the "Challenge" chapter, which I've decided I'll make a small side story for (that relates to the main story, but is not required to understand it).

Chapter 3?

Oh, yeah, ground has already been broken on this chapter, both in terms of code as well as story. Like I said, I've been delayed a bit on the code side due work to the story side. But it has to be done eventually - especially since a lot of the operations are dependent on what's going on in the story.

For the meantime, please enjoy this little teaser (I guess?) of an upcoming character.

Will their design change? Almost certainly. I've literally just taken a screenshot of the sketch I'd been working on earlier today. But hey, look at that! WIPs, how cool!
