Late-Summer Update (Patreon)
Content
Greetings! It's been a while, hasn't it?
The game's slightly delayed. Call it March 2027.
I felt like this needed an image, but I didn't know what to put. Uhh. (Art by suyoshistar6.)
Alright, did that arouse a bit more attention? Read on (or skim, I don't mind) for details...
Events
I've done them! I'm doing them!
CE:ROM has been expo'ed in-person three times so far this year!
Furry Weekend Atlanta 2026 (Developer's Den)
Summer Games Done Quick 2026 (Vendor's Alley)
Open Sauce 2026 (Indie Dev Exhibitor)
And it'll be present in at least one more in-person event!
Anthro SoCal 2026 (Indie Games)
It was good to see people enjoy the game in-person (especially with a Wiimote and even Steam Controller), and directly talking with folks was a great experience!
"Cool, happy for you, but why should I care?"
Fair question. The events are good and all for getting the word out about the game, of course. I've noted down a bunch of feedback to improve the game, as well.
I also met several people that could help with further improving the game later down the road. (i.e. Localization, potential voice acting quips, other potential events)
I don't intend on spending all my time doing these, mind you! Finishing the game is the top priority.
Finishing the game
(Nice segue, eh?)
I'm going to be delaying the game from this year to early next year. Peg that at around March 2027.
Please have this Spark as a distraction.
I am currently at around Episode 5-1/5-2 in terms of nearly-fully-completed content. (That's about 25/36, or 70%, of the guaranteed main story episodes.)
I'm reasonably confident that, at my current pace, the game will be 1.0-ready by early 2027.
That means the entire main story of 36 episodes will be fully-complete.
I'll try my best to also include the "challenge" episodes, but there's no promises that they'll be ready at the time of 1.0 release. (I am planning on attaching a small optional side-story to these.) Other features (such as "extreme" operations) are definitely still on the plate, but likely as free post-release updates.
The good news is I finally found and hired a musician!
Oh, right. Yeah, I hope you didn't get too attached to the current placeholder music.
Wow, a musician
So I finally found and hired a musician.Meet the official composer for CE:ROM, Rowan!
And take a gander at a little teaser or two on his Bluesky!
He and I are already working hard on a kick-ass OST for CE:ROM. In addition to sounding great (well, yeah, I hope!), it's really looking like it'll be worthy of one of those long-form video essays pointing out the 'TOP TEN THINGS YOU MISSED IN THE CE:ROM SOUNDTRACK THAT WERE THERE THE WHOLE TIME!!' (or whatever)!
I hope you're looking forward to it as much as I am! Maybe you'll get to listen to the tracks soon! Maybe in an updated demo?
An updated demo
It's been nearly a year since the public demo of CE:ROM released on Steam. I've made many improvements since then, but haven't gotten around to updating the demo to include them.
I do intend to do this SoonTM. The update would, perhaps most notably, include improvements to using peripherals other than M+KB, such as drawing tablets.
I've been putting it off because, well, it's a lot of work to update the demo. Mostly because I need to make sure I don't terribly break anything. But it's about time for it, so... Yeah. Soon.
Other stuff??
I hope you don't mind the reduction in blog cadence! It's getting to the tail end (heh) of development, and I'm feeling the urge to just, y'know, MAKE AND FINISH THE GAME.
Things are going well, and I'm excited to be finally getting close to 1.0...
Oh, by the way if you'd like to get a custom character in the game, feel free to fill out this interest form...

Think 'help pick the name / species / stats on a patient's chart', and even 'have a custom patient torso representing a Legally Distinct Character You Helped Me Design' in the game!
I'll do a more formal announcement of actual slots later, but in case you wanted to get ahead, well, there it is! (Funds from this will go to help paying for the OST as well as for, well, dinner. I'm doing this full-time, remember~)
Right, well it's 4:30am I'm going to bed, seeeee you next time!
And here, have an unrelated screenshot of a later operation...
